Happy 20 weeks girls

Yeh I get they have to distance themselves a little but a shame when they have such an impact on what should be a cherished memory. No wonder private scanning clinics do so well. They offer a lovely service! Haha.

Only 12 more work get ups for me. Can't wait!! What date do u finish Njp?
Picked up mat b1 form from mw clinic today so I can send it off for smp.

I would give anything to feel some movement!!!!! Xxx

Kaa, I finish two weeks on Friday, but have 3 days owing so am taking them sometime, so I think that makes it 10 get ups for me. I have just had to spend ages counting that out, no wonder I am being made redundant given that I do maths! Haha!

I don't know where time is gone, it only seems yesterday I was counting 35 more get ups. The last few weeks have blurred together for me.

Mellie, my scan is on Friday and I am definitely finding out the sex! Hope baby moves to show me. I've been told by a friend to eat chocolate to help get it lively.

Don't worry I had to count on my fingers to work mine out. Good job I'm only primary!! Haha.

Aw can't wait to hear what sex ur baby is. Feel like the only one not finding out. Although think twinkle staying team yellow...not sure ?!.

Not long until Friday Nicejuicypear! I'm off again for a scan too do you have any ideas what baby could be? I had some fizzy sweets before my scan and baby was extremely giddy! Haha x

I'll keep the fizzy sweets in mind! My gut feeling was boy for a long time, now I'm not sure , feel more like it could go either way.

Kaa, Twinkle is staying yellow, I'm sure someone else is but can't remember who off the top of my head. It would do my head in trying to buy and organise without knowing gender.

I've got my scan on Friday too and we're staying team yellow! I am a lot more tempted to find out this time though!! Xx

Im sure theres more staying yellow, just can't remember. I wish I had the will power to, as it would be a lovely surprise. But I was too impatient to even wait until 20 weeks!

The private scan I had told me to have something sugary and a cold drink before I went in. So hopefully if you do that baby will play along nicely

Oh interesting advise mellie...so in your private scan was the baby moving alot? Or still? Im guessing moving! I think also having very cold water wakes baby up, if that is the aim of the game, however in my scan my baby was moving too much if anything.

Talking of movement im feeling the baby loads this morning. Just after a wee break so maybe she was cramped and now just stretching out. But its very cute

Oh good there are more of us then haha. Just seems like the only ones I speak to are all pink and blue. Had a dream I was having a boy but doubt that means anything ha. Hubby thinks boy but that's coz he'd love one!!

On a plus note 21 weeks today and this morning whilst lay in bed I felt my very first baby movements so chuffed!!! Hope this is the start and they increase by the day!!

Yea baby was moving loads during my private scan, he was dancing and wriggling around lots!

My dad has an operation today, then my scan at the same hospital tomorrow so hopefully I can pop in and see him afterwards. (Fingers crossed the nurses are feeling nice!)

Hi ladies,
Haven't been on for ages - it's been a hectic few weeks! My 20wk scan didn't go particularly well - the lady doing the scanning was a complete cow and really had no interest which really peed me off, it's so unnecessary. She couldn't see the babies face or heart as apparently 'it's a really awkward baby' she didn't even really seem to try that hard. We are team yellow and I told her that and she said are you sure as I can see that detail! SO annoying - how can you see in detail it's bits but not its bloody heart! Going back on friday at 8.30 for a re-scan (2 weeks after the last) so fingers crossed that it plays the game a bit more and the person doing the scan is different. In this two weeks though my husband has not stopped going on about wanting to find out what it is so I think we are no longer going to stay team yellow. It seems to be really important to him so I don't mind and it does mean that I can be more organised which is quite exciting! We aren't going to tell anyone we know what it is though so it can be a surprise for everyone else! No idea how that will actually work out

On a horrible note I had to go to the funeral yesterday of a friends little boy, he was on 18months old. It was possibly the saddest most awful thing I have ever had to go to - i'm not great at funerals when I'm not preggers but throw in the hormones and I was a mess. For those of you who already have little people, give them an extra tight hug tonight for my friend who can't, makes you feel guilty for all the whinging and complaining that we do of the little, everyday things

Ah thats horrible news, I would have been a right mess!

At least you get to see baby again at the re scan. Lets hope baby is sitting in a position so you can see between the legs again.

Yayyy received my hospital bag this morning! So pleased with it, so much bigger than i expected! Only got to add a nightie and clothes for me and baby's blanket and coming home outfit and im set to go with plenty more space if needed! 1 less thing to worry about Xx

Niknak... so your going to find out the gender then in a couple of weeks! dont blame you after such a meany sonographer... fingers crossed the scan will be a much nicer experience.

Katiee...you seem to be sooo organised all ready. I am leaving most of my purchasing till Oct/Nov..to give me something todo when start my maternity...or am I being niave?

I do admit i am way to organised so far but wanted to have everything ready for the start of September as we start our Christmas shopping & Myah's birthday presents in September (her birthday is 25th November and baby could arrive between 31st October - 14th November roughly) so trying to get all the baby bits out of the way so there's no stress at the end and i can relax!

With my daughter we started shopping just after the 20 week scan and finished paying all the pram and stuff off around 6-8 weeks before she was due to arrive but this we decided to plan for a baby a bit better and buy baby bits even if i wasn't pregnant to stock up for when the time came and funnily enough i got my BFP the week we went out baby shopping!

wow Niknak.... Im in tears at my desk... how tragic! what happened to him? I am so sorry for you and my sympathy is with the family. xxxx

He died of leukaemia - it was all very fast though, he had a temperature on and off for 2 weeks and was generally under the weather, docs said that it was a virus and to just let it run its course. His mum took him to a&e in the end as she couldn't get his temperature down, he never went home they found out four days later it was a very aggressive and rare form of the disease. He started chemo a few days later and unfortunately got an infection which put him into a coma. He went from a boy with a 'virus' to dead in 2 weeks and 2 days, absolutely devastating for everyone, especially his family. Been crying on and off since I found out Applecrumble - the tears just won't stop!
