Yep last thing I heard was them saying they might now allow me a home birth because of my increased risk of PND. So I did my research and learned I have a legal right to a home birth. They can't refuse me one. If I decide to stay home they have to come out to me . So I will be making very clear at my next midwife appointment that I know my rights and expect to have them respected. I feel very strongly about home birth, I also feel very strongly about the fact the health system like to pretend you don't have a choice about certain things when you very much do.
Good, you should get it then. As long as there's no medical risk to you or babys life I don't see the big deal. If I was living in a house I owned, where baby would live for his whole life I'd probably be quite tempted by one. But I'm a bit of a worrier too so think a home birth might stress me too much. Maybe if this birth goes ok I'll look into it for future babies.
Oh I got a bunch of baby clothes off a facebook freebies group today. Some really gorgeous stuff! We've been given stuff by family but it's mostly sleepsuits etc. This is lovely winter stuff (and some absolutely gorgeous newborn dresses!)
There was a whole black bag full of stuff! 2 snow suits, a whole bunch of long sleeved sleep suits, t shirts, dresses, coats. That dress is just my favourite!
Got an appointment with my midwife in a little bit. Was just having a nose through my green notes at the grow chart. The top level of normal for my baby at full term is 4500 grams....which is 9.9lbs! I don't want to have a baby that huge! That'll hurt!!
Its easy to read, you basically just ignore the left hand vertical line, as that's just for when they start measuring bump. Which personally I don't think I'll ever be able to do as I have no idea where the top of my uterus is! Haha
My sister in law has some hypnobirthing material. I really need to borrow them from her.
oh... so I know that your measure from belly button to the pelvic bone... and that should measure how many weeks your measuring so a bump should measure 31cm from belly button to pelvic bone if you were 31 weeks...
is that the same thing?
I was taking the measurement on my scan which was taken at 18 weeks and trying to figure out/predict size at birth....
I dont know, im sure someone told me they measured to the top of your uterus, hence why I wouldn't be able to measure. Hadn't heard about them measuring to the belly button. I think its from 25 weeks they start measuring so should be soon.
the babies size (length) should be on the top of the scan image. I think there are two measurements from memory one of the placenta and one of baby.
Re measuring baby, agree seems fairly inaccurate, but I guess thats why so many babies come out at a different size than expected. Its what my midwife told me. If they are concerned by that measurement they send your for accurate scans... so confusing!
Well unfortunately today we've had a family meeting at the hospital to have the consultant speak to us about my nan.. She isn't getting better so they are putting her on end of life care and not feeding her nutrients anymore. She's very weak and frail now so it's now going through to transfer her to a 24 hour care nursing home and wait for nature to happen.. Were looking at a day to a month of her passing xxx
