*** November 2014 Mummies! ***

You tend to be able to put girls in slightly boy things, but you can't get away with putting a boy in a frilly dress (annoyingly! Ha)

I've brought 2 neutral baby gros so far. Oh and I have ordered my pushchair!! Got it from the baby show so got loads of money off it :) chose the red colour option as that will do for boy or girl :) eekk

Found this today in charity shop for £7 :D It's a rocking stand too!

Haha we haven't brought my daughter up with the typical "girly pink frilly things" she can wear boy or girl clothes I don't mind & she plays with girls or boys toys!

Think I'd only get away with putting my boy in a pink polo shirt haha!

One of my friends has a little girl and she puts her in lovely things, they're all bright mixed colours - plenty of dark pink and purple mixed in, but always with other colours. I have already instructed my mum as to what kind of colours she should be looking towards for a girl. For a boy, I like bright primary colours too, not too many muted navy and brown colours. My baby is going to be bright and gaudy regardless of gender. A lot of stuff seems to be white and beige, not keen on this either. I'd rather have it in clashing purple and orange, than beige!

I'm going to have to invest in some good colour-fast washing powder :D

I think I felt my first flutters this morning - was lying in bed reading on my phone and something happened low down in my abdomen, where my bump is hard, slightly to the right. I stopped still and it happened once more, like little tapping motions inside me. It was different to trapped wind. It didn't happen again, even though I tapped then wobbled my belly to try to stimulate it!

Thats moses basket was a right bargain. Good spot. Theyre in it for such a short time that there's no point spending a fortune on one!

Ahh im jealous, nicejuicypear, I want to start feeling flutters soon. Im still too busy throwing up in the mornings to feel baby I think :( plus baby would have had a restless night last night as I woke up screaming at one point!! I thought there was a giant spider. My boyfriend had to shout at me to calm me down! Haha

Hahaha giant spider XD.

We also got this baby bath for free yesterday from a Facebook group. I probably wouldn't have bought one, but it's huge and for free you can't complain!

Sounds like an eventful night, Mellie! I've stopped feeling sick now, just got headaches to contend with.

I wasn't expecting to feel flutters yet, my wife keeps asking if I've felt it move and I keep saying that it's far too early, thought it would be a month or so away, so was surprised to feel it this morning. It would have been easy to miss them though, they were so light and I almost didn't realise what they were.

Babyphoenix, you're getting loads of stuff now! Well done on the bargain hunting, I am looking to get things as cheaply as possible. A friend is involved in a local NCT group so she's going to let me know about their nearly new sales. My wife was a bit sniffy about second hand, but i'm not, especially when you can see the stuff before you buy.

What were you going to use instead of a baby bath? I have to get something - we're on a water meter annoyingly, so I'll definitely be getting something small to bath baby in.

Was just going to co-bath really. Yeah second hand isn't bad, the stuff doesn't get used for long really!

We're moving house which is why I was on the facebook groups. Managed to get a table and 4 chairs, a dvd stand, a reclining chair for the nursery, my cousin gave me a TV stand. We're pretty sorted apart from the big things like fridge and washing machine and tumble drier that we're getting on credit at curry's anyway.

Ah, we don't bath because of the stupid water meter, so that would be out. I've heard of people just using washing up bowls for babies but I'll need something that goes up to toddler size I think, until it's big enough to stand in the shower at least. Our bath is huge as it's P-shaped to make a decent shower stand so it costs a fortune to fill!

You've done really well off those groups - do you find most of the stuff to be clean and reasonably unmarked? I had a look at one of my local groups and someone was selling baby stuff, photographed spread out on a dirty carpet, put me right off. That's why I'm going to the nearly new sales instead, you can inspect the stuff first. I'd feel dead awkward turning up for a FB collection, only to find the stuff was grubby and I'd have to make excuses to leave.

Yeah it's mostly fine and they're honest usually about any marks or whatever. One of the chairs we got is ripped a little (leather) apparently though I haven't really noticed (everything is just stashed downstairs though lol as we haven't got room for it in the flat)

When are you moving? I don't envy you moving while pregnant, it was enough of a chore for us when I wasn't, mind there are 5 of us. Having finally been able to buy a house, I am adamant I will stay here until I am so old I need a granny flat, never doing the moving thing ever again!

We're getting the keys on 10th june, moving 15th, got my 20 week scan on the 16th :D So exciting week that will be.

We've got to do it at least once more after this as we are hoping to buy a house one day (renting here and the new place). We've got a bit of help with moving too. :)

i love freebies!

I managed to get the baby bath and stand for free this time & with my daughter i had a load of clothes for free which was a massive help as we were doing the house up about to have our first xmas with our new baby!

At least you're doing it early on, so you'll have plenty of time to get things sorted over the next few months!

I don't know many people with babies to get freebies, shame! I am hoping my parents will offer to buy a few bits and pieces but I'm not holding my breath.

Luckily because my sister in law had a baby in jan we'll be getting a lot of stuff given to us by her. Then my other SIL is giving us her old cot bed so we'll just have to buy the mattress for that. Been quitr fortunate with the timing of this baby really :)

My cousin has just had a baby, but I don't know if they're planning any more, so they might want to keep their stuff for another.

It is good when you know people who've already had and don't want to keep their stuff!

There's a website called freecycle thats worth looking on. I see people giving away bits and pieces for babies all the time on there. And its all for free!!

She had a really rough pregnancy so if she has any more it wont be for a while yet!
I also got a nice nursing chair off gumtree. Was only £20 because it needed new covers. I went down the market and got the fabric so am half way to completing them now. :) second hand chairs on ebay are going for about £80 which I just couldn't justify.

Sorry I've been away. Still having a nightmare with these window fitters. I mean seriously that's now 1 week they've been doing this and there still not finished there having to come out tomorrow again when my kids are all off school. It's been beautiful weather here and we stuck inside. I'm very stressed out :(
On a brighter note little mix were amazing last night and my little girl loved her first concert. Hope your all well.

Ps it's nearly Sunday :)
