Mummies Running Club :D

I was really confused trying to choose the beet it as there were two similar looking bottles but differently priced (in holland & Barrett) the only difference was one was organic. Funily the organic one was the cheaper one. Is yours the non organic one maybe?

Just been looking and found this -

Boost stamina the smart and easy way with our newly developed SPORT shot. Having had the BEET IT brand established as a firm favourite of the UK (and worldwide) sporting elite, our SPORT shot comes highly recommended by some of the UK's leading sportsmen and nutritionists. The SPORT shot has a nitrate content of 0.4g per 7cl shot, which is the maximum dose of nitrate in the minimum possible liquid. By sourcing non-organic batches of beetroot, rather than adding artificial nitrate we have been able to increase the nitrate concentration, without diminishing the shots

Arrghhh im absolutely s***ing myself, sorry for the language. Only 2 days to go and I did my last run last night and my calf isnt looking good, going to get lots of rest in :( Its a good job i ordered a pink elasticated bandage as i guess im going to be running in that.
First sports shot this morning, it says it gives quicker muscle recovery, lets hope its super quick!

Hows everyone else getting on? x x

M2a sorry ur calf is playing up! I'm sure you will still do great on Sunday. U have so much motivation and determination, think how you're gonna feel when u cross that line?!

Iv still been running, not as much as I should be tho, went in the rain yesterday evening and it was lovely! X

Thanks Pos :) im so nervous today, got my number pinned on my vest last night and it all started to feel even more real!

Well done on getting out in the rain, these winter night are set to test our dedication and determination x x

What time does the race start? X

9.30 hun, we are leaving the house about 7:30 though because the race starts on the wirral side, so i have to get the train over.

Carb loading day for me today and i need to watch my fluid intake. OH is going to get up with the kids if they wake tonight but ive got a feeling i wont be able to sleep!

Whats everyones running plans for the weekend? x x

Oh how exiting M2A! You sound very organised. Try not to worry too much about sleep tonight, as long as your tested I'm sure you'll be fine. I will be thinking of you and keeping everything crossed things go well for you.
I'm working all weekend but I am off on Monday so hope to do an 18 miler then which will be my last long run xxx

Thanks Rednursie, ive just had wholemeal pasta and salmon, got some malt loaf and mixed nuts/seeds to eat later then an early night for me x x

Good luck today hunni! I really hope you enjoy it :-) Looking forward to hearing how you get on xxxxx

OMG, never underestimate the distance of 26.2 miles, today was one of the hardest things i have ever done! Finished in 5:27:47 (chip time) even managed a sprint finish, think the energy come from seeing my kids cheering me on! Heres me at the finish line and a pic of my medal. The course included Kingsway tunnel and Parliment street and for those who know Liverpool they are hilly inclines to say the least! x x ImageUploadedByTapatalk1350235690.681283.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1350235701.194161.jpg

Congratulations hun, you did so well!!!! You should be so proud of yourself!!! Sorry I didn't get on to wish you luck for today, I've not had the internet til now. How are you feeling now?

Thanks hun :) Deep down i am disappointed with my time but i am proud that i crossed that finish line, its not only physical but its mentally draining too isnt it?!
Feeling achy but still amazed at the experience today, seen some amazing sights :) x x

Congratulations hun, I hope your proud! Did you manage to enjoy yourself? How was the weather? Must have been lovely having your kids cheering you on :-) xxx

Thanks Pos and Rednursie :)

I had a brilliant day Rednursie, i enjoyed every second of it even though it was tough going. We couldnt of asked for better weather, maybe even a little warm at times!
The atmosphere was amazing, after emerging from the tunnel under the Mersey there was African drums and a massive crowd of spectators just what you needed after a 1.5 ish mile incline, there was singers or music being played at most water/runaid/gel stations. In general the supports from everyones family, friends and the locals was amazing, one lady was running around with big bags of mars bars offering them to all the runners. The end was fantastic too, all well organised and again the support was electrifying. Will remember the day I ran my first marathon forever :D

You look really well in your finish photo-Not exhausted at all! How are you feeling today? Did your injury flare up during the marathon at all Hun? xxx

I was thinking the same Rednursie, M2A you don't look like you've just run a marathon. I remember feeling physically and mentally drained after the adrenalin had worn off. It took me months to get out running again, the longer I left it the harder it got lol. But reading your story and following your journey, you are making me want to run another one!!

At the end, fitness wise i could of kept on going but my legs wouldnt take me! So looking back at how things went, one of my main things i need to look at is improving my leg strength for future races.
Im quite achy and tender today but as to be expected really, tried to keep it as normal as possible, school run, work ect. One thing i have noticed is im very emotional though.
Sassy are you looking for one to enter? X x
