***March Mummies***

I had my midwife appt today amd got my 12 week scan for 21st. I am Consultant lead due to ivf so will see the consultant at my 12 week scan.

They want me to take clexane for my flight to Turkey and back which surprises me.

I dont like to blame baby but i anarf had some nightmares last night.
Nightmare 1- very realistic arguement with my sister. Not so bad but stressful.
Nightmare 2- horrible a dog kept biting me again and again on my arm in end as i forced mouth open a tooth attatched to a string snagged and got left behind in my arm i freaked out. I woke up with actual pain feeling in my arm as if it had been battered about... It left like 30 seconds after waking but :( freaked me out

Welcome Tanigee!

Thanks for the advice Alexis - I chased! 28th August, so i will be 13+1. Bit annoying as we have a huge wedding on bank holiday and I will have to pretend I'm drinking but cant be helped! Just glad I have a date and hoping all is okay.

I got my scan for 21st at 11 weeks plus 6 exactly 2 week before you have yours. I'm on the count down... 12 more sleeps!

I'm even more grumpy now yours is so early @Alexis2017 haha why is mine so late  Glad they accommodated you and your holiday though! Clexane is to prevent clots right?? I feel cheeky suggesting this but if theres no family history, could it be an age thing?

It's okay to blame baby @soffphie. Pregnancy causes horrific nightmares!! I used to wake up so convinced mine were real. I didn't take my OH to booking appt. I think hed have been bored, it was like a routine drs appt. I would save his leave in case you have any extra scans or anything later in pregnancy! X

Hi ladies,
Ive got a scan at EPU on Sunday due to history of miscarriages and I’ve had some spotting over the last couple of days. I should be 7+5 so hopefully we can see a healthy little heartbeat

Have a lovely weekend everyone. So exiting that some of you are near your 12 week scan date!! Xx

Yeah they said I scored 1 for age 1 for ivf and 1 for going on a flight above 4 hours.. So total of 3. Any score over 2 is a query for clexane for flights. It would just be 1 on day of flight there and back.

Mine is early cos I am Consultant lead and there clinic is only on Wednesdays... I can't do the following one as I'm on holiday and the one after that is too late!

I bet I could get your veins.... I work for blood transfusion and put in needles in cancer pts who have had chemo and their veins are wrecked ... I'm a expert at getting veins! :)

I work in the Apheresis service so we collect stem cells and do lots of other cell seoerairng procedures like red blood cell ex for sickle cell anaemia! I can't belive they put one in your neck!

I put in big backeye needles for the procedure which are 16 gauge same as dialysis fistula needles and the 2nd biggest cannula for return access and do this every day and 3 or 4 times. We also take blood all day from ppl with no veins so I've got pretty dam good at it!!

Such a cool job u have too!!! Working with cancer patients thats hard but i respect that alot i lost a boyfriend to cancer he was only 30 he fought for so long from being 19 he beat so many odds really is one of the biggest inspirations in mylife he just got on with it and funny enough his birthday was the day i was due to have my endo op wen i opened the letter i knew somethings was going to happen turns out no op because im pregnant and he knew i always wanted to be a mum Xx

Hi ladies! I’m another bad vein person. When I was induced with ds they needed to put a drip in. After 5 attempts I started gas and air, after 7 attempts they sent for a specialist who sent for an ultrasound :-?
But nurses in the clinic get me first time every time. Just depends on how regularly you take blood I guess.

How is everyone coping? I’m really starting to struggle with the exhaustion. I had last week as annual leave anyway but I’m really starting to doubt about going back to work tomorrow. I’ve been in bed 9pm-8am and napping during the day too. Thankfully the sickness isn’t as bad now but I’m still dry wrenching several times a day

That's so sad. I'm so sorry for your loss. I work with babies children and adults with cancer (mostly blood cancer) and neuroblastoma also organ rejection and neuro conditions. It's a tough job!

@soffphie I am so, so sorry. You and your partner must be devastated. Take as long as you need to grieve together. Thinking of you both. X
