Well I'm home...shattered all I wanna do is sleep. Anyway the 1 follie is behaving itself is now 17mm, they wanna keep going as it's the one, with a scan and bloods on friday as long as today's are as they should be... Ready for ec now on Monday... They wanna get the one follies to its best. Just scoffed a whole pack of Jaffa cakes as had the mega shakes... Oops!!

Hi Cariad, it depends what the problem is I think, as I think there is an iui protocol that is unstimulated so you'd have a natural cycle then they do the insemination - I don't know much about it or any other type as I'm on a medicated cycle. I have problems ovulating as I have cysts on my ovaries so I am on Gonal F injections to stimulate the ovaries to grow follicles for ovulation. They start me off on a small dose to prevent over stimulating the follicles as this can cause the cycle to be cancelled.
Once the follicles are the right size (and providing there is no more than 2-3 follicles maximum), I have an injection to trigger the follicle to release the egg(s) and then 24 hours after that, we are called in for the procedure.

As for scans, in my case, I have scans every other day from cd3/4 right up to ovulation to monitor follicle growth which means the nurses can see whether they need to adjust the dose of Gonal F or not, how close we are or how far we are from booking a date for iui lol.
