Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

Hi all

MissJuly, have you had AF yet?

Naturally I ov on CD10, which would be today, but I have no signs whatsoever. I have read that the cycle following IVF can ge messed up though so maybe that's why. I would ideally like a textbook 28 day cycle but can't see that happening! X

Yeah its common for AF to be late after IVF, I am still waiting for my proper one!

So ladies I think my period will come Christmas Eve (oh the joys!) so this means finally starting my IVF cycle any tips or advice on the run up of anything I can be doing to get ready? Xx

Just try to be healthy, make the most of going out and not having to come home early to do injections, it gets really boring and annoying! Plan fun things to do for when it all starts but make sure you have plenty of time for rest too. Tell your OH you might be feeling emotional or fragile so to bear that in mind! And visualize your ivf being successful and creating a lovely little baby. Good luck!

Thanks blueflower I best get planning some nice days out!! That's all really helpful advice xxx

I read through the info on egg donation and think I am going to request info about the clinics abroad. DH doesn't seem too keen about the egg sharing program.

Bit annoyed with my colleague, when I told her the other week that we were going to the London clinic for a consultation she said "why are you going back there, I thought you'd finished with all that?" As if it was a stupid idea trying to have a baby at my age and it hadn't worked so why were we flogging a dead horse?! Its alright for her, she had 2 children in her 20s with a man who wanted kids straight away.

Glad you are looking at all your options and thinking about it all xxx
when I started looking at donor egg somebody told me to think about it as buying a packet of seeds. You go to the garden centre and buy the seeds, you plant them, nurture them, feed and grow them, they are yours and only yours, the garden centre you originally brought them from are nothing to do with them, they wouldn't be here without you! I know that is a very simple way of looking at it and I hope it makes sense to you, it did help me at the very start of my donor journey xxx

That's a lovely way of explaining it!

Understand the comment hurt you Blueflower.. Perhaps she meant that the clinic had not managed to help you yet and they were not doing a good job so you should look elsewhere where they are better? Anyway, happy to hear you are looking into donor eggs. I would also look into dhea.. Asked my private doctor about this ages ago and he said "not for you" since I assume he thought my quality was ok but he did not dismiss it and seems like it has worked for a few people xx

Some people are so insensitive.

I love the seeds reference :-) Think mine need a sign pointing to the soil!

My EWCM has stopped again so guess I'm not ovulating as I thought. I will cherish this looonngg month until my cycles get shorter again.

Xxx

I hope she didn't mean it as it came across blueflower cause otherwise I would be telling her to keep her opinions to herself!!
I love the seeds analog sounds a perfect way to describe it xx

Blue flower - some people just don't know the right thing to say and they just come across so rude. I've had people clapping in my face (literally in my face) and telling me to "hurry up and get pregnant, everyone else is having babies". That's probably one of the worst things someone's said to me, felt like punching them in the face lol. Big hugs Hun, people that aren't in the same boat or have never had to actually try for a baby just don't understand the effects of their words. Don't be disheartened. :hugs:

No af for me which is a pain, my chat and plan is on Thursday and I'm worried my weight will stop us from going ahead. I don't think I've gained weight but I don't think I've lost any! I find it difficult to shed the pounds.

Oh I hate it when they think you can just get pregnant by clicking your fingers - it just doesn't work like that for all of us!

How much weight do you need to lose? I hope you are just under and AF arrives soon so they can do it! Xxx

Yeah maybe she meant that MariaIsabella, thanks!
How many donor cycles have you had RAFMrs?
That's awful MissJuly, my mum told me to hurry up 3 years ago and I gave her a mouthful!
An older friend recently said she didn't know why we didn't just adopt as there were loads of babies needing a home!! She got a mouthful too!

Grr Blueflower that is one of my most hated sayings, why don't you just adopt. Always said by people who have had no issues with fertility too.

I told her that no there aren't loads of babies these days, hardly any in fact!

I've had 2 (tandem) cycles, 4 blastos (1x mine, 3x donor) put back each time.

Changed clinics again so trying once more with my eggs then if that doesn't work will switch to double donor. Will use full immune protocol again (used with last 2 cycles) but with addition of gcsf meds plus some other meds from now on (following full immune testing). X

I'll put all the tests that I've had at various clinics down, as Serum then added the other tests I needed for a full view of what was going on:

Thyroid and other basic bloods, lupus anticoagulant screens and anticardiolipin antibody, 7 in 1 period blood test and other test that goes with it, factor V Leiden mutation, Prothrombin gene mutation, Protein C, Protein S, AT/HEP binding, APC sensitivity ratio, DRVVT, DRVVT P.Lipid correction, Lupus APTT ratio, ANA (ELISA) ENA, DNA, Centromere, Anti Cardiolipin, Anti Beta 2 Glycoproteins I, Anti Cardiolipin, Anti Beta 2 Glycoproteins.

NK cytotoxicity and TH1:TH2 cytokines, Chicago testing,

Hubby/ both of us
Sperm DNA fragmentation, HLA matching, Karyotyping

Some of these were because of the recurrent miscarriages. I'm sure there was more immune testing but I'll have to dig paperwork out tomorrow X
