Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

Morning all...pearl that looks like a bfp to me! I don't know enough about triggers so really hope it isn't. Fingers crossed!! x

I had my second scan yesterday and all seems to be heading in right direction. I currently have 10 follicles measuring between 8mm -14mm. There are smaller ones as well. Back in on Monday for further scan then ec likely to be Wednesday, eek! x

It looks like a BFP to me too and I thought it was out of your system by 10dpo?

Ooo exciting Nik! Good luck xx

Hi ladies, did my first fsh injection this morning and have a question since i might have done something wrong :(. read instructions after the injection more carefully and said when i press in the solvent water in the sealed bottle with the fsh powder i should not take theneedle out of the bottle the whole time but keep in in and then pull up the solvent powder liquid. I accidently took the needle out after spraying in the water and then put it in again to draw up the liquid.. Not sure this makes sense but if you understand what i mean, what can happen if i dont keep the needle in the whole time in the vacuum? Thanks!!

I wouldn't worry too much about taking the needle out - I think it's to keep the needle as sterile as possible and also sharp for when you use it on yourself.

No Hun I wouldn't worry, think it's def just to keep it sterile won't effect the meds xxx

Thank you! Just want to clarify the needle used is not the same as the one i inject with so not sure it has to do with keeping it sterlile? Thanks for supporting x

The more the needle is exposed the less sterile it will be and then going back into the vile. It's absolutely fine though - I remember doing the same thing! :)

I find it easier to swirl it if the mixing needle is out and then easier to draw back up again if I push air into it. We have a smaller needle for injecting luckily as the mixing one is huge!!

Don't worry the reason you keep the needle in is to keep as clean as poss also by piercing the rubber tiny bit goes into syringe but you change the needle to give it so it's fine.

Thanks all of you, feeling more relaxed. Just so many questions since all is new.

Another thing i was thinking of was the amount i injected. On the solutions bottle it says 1 ml but it was not much more than 0,5 when i injected it after mixing with the powder. How can this be? Have anyone had a similar situation?

I also find it hard to open the glas solution bottle since scared glass with fall i to the water!!

Thanks again for ressuring me 😊 xx

I thought that about the amount too Hun, if you look at the vials that are all different don't think it matters how much water as long as you get the powder in,
If you break the glass don't worry Hun just use another one how many powders are you mixing per vial I have been doing two powders for one water so I have 50% more water than I need xx

Don't worry about questions Hun were all here to help each other out xxx

Thanks! The bottle didnt break but looks like there could be tiny glass bits falling in after breaking since the edge is broken.. Hopefully ok!

I use one bottle of powder. Just realized i used the mixing needle when pushing out the air bubbles so there might have been some liquid mixed up with powder stuck in that needle which never got injected :(. I hope i havent messed this up. Xx

Do you have any plastic snappers? They should help to snap cleanly, but it is daunting. My first go I only had to mix one liquid into one powder to make 3 days worth, no snapping needed.
Its quite scary thinking you haven't got it all but if by any chance you needed some more as the follicles hadn't grown enough they would just give you another dose or 2 until they have. x

Use the cleaning wipe to snap and snap away from the white dot on the neck of the vial.

I am cautiously optimistic we have been told not to test until Wednesday (2 weeks and 2days post Iui)

Today I am 16 days past trigger and 14 days past Iui, what do you think any chance this is still a false positive?

Having cramps keep running to the bathroom expecting to see AF, gonna ring the clinic later and see if they will schedule bloods for Wednesday. Fingers crossed x

Congrats, looks like a positive to me!!

Thanks for all the advise. Went much better today and no drama :)

The nurse didn't tell me to snap away from the dot so think this is why the glass broke a little. Did use that solvent though so hope I didn't inject any glass..

xx

Wanted to hear what supplements/vitamins you all take. I only take the Pregnacare Conceptions you can buy in boots. Should I be taking something else? Hear Omega 3 is good but don't want to take too many things.. Thanks :) x

I think the instructions on my medication said to snap away from the dot.
I take Pregnacare and also Royal Jelly and you've just reminded me I have some Coq10! Must take that too!
Good luck for your scan today Niknak! We seem to be at similar stages, my EC is probably going to be Friday but it was originally planned for Wednesday.
