Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

I am not taking any of that but perhaps I should! What are they for and where can I get it? Is it safe for me to start RJ and CoQ10 or should I ask nurse before. I am behind on all this!! x

They are for egg quality. Don't worry because as long as you've been getting plenty of protein especially eggs and oily fish you will be fine. But as you have only just started the stims you could get some as long as the nurse says its ok! You can get both in Asda/Tescos/ Superdrug etc!

I take a few different things haven't heard of royal jelly though is that for egg quality then?
I take ad cal, low dose aspirin, pregna care max, and q10.

I have my consultant appointment on Wednesday to talk about doing our ivf anyone got any advice on what I should ask? Xx

I can't remember what questions I asked on first appointment but I would ask how long the treatment will be ( long or short protocol ), the success rate and perhaps if they have any suggestions on how to improve your chances. You will have a million questions once you start and the nurse/doctor will go though the process with you in detail which will answer lots of questions. Good luck!

Thanks for your advise on vitamins etc. Asked my nurse and she said I can take Coq10 and RJ.

When I had my first appointment I was really impressed with how much info our consultant gave us. There were hardly any additional questions.
I did take pen and paper just in case though.

How is everyone else getting on?

I have my first tracking scan on Fri. Does anyone know if I have to have bloods taken at these appointments too? xx

I only had bloods taken after I'd been on the stims Mel. If this is just after the pill or Buserelin they don't need to measure your estradiol levels.

My scan went well today, I have 18 follicles from 11-16mm, I have to halve my Menopur dose then final scan Wednesday. Egg collection probably Friday then Embryo screening Monday. If we have a chromosomally normal embryo that will be frozen for next month. If we don't then we'll have nothing which will be terrible but at least we'll know.

How was your scan Niknak?

I haven't yet started my IVF but am on metformin, chromium, conception multivitamin, extra folic acid and vitamin D (the last two prescribed because I have epilepsy and that medication means I am deficient). The nurse told me just to stick to prescribed meds for the IVF so I will have to ditch the chromium, but I may ask about CoQ10 and royal jelly because I think egg quality is a big problem with me.

Is there any way of telling how good/bad quality your eggs are?

I have my endometrial scratch on Friday, so things are progressing - eek! X

Bought RJ and CoQ10 but there were many options.. What strenghts are u on and how many tablets per day?? Confusing

As long as the area is clean you should be fine. Have you got any wet wipes or antiseptic cream or Dettol?

18 is roughly what we got before, can't remember how many follicles I had each time but we got 17, 19 then 13 eggs each time. Then from that we got 9, 15 then 13 embryos.

We will have stimmed for 13 days after tomorrow then probably trigger Wednesday.)

I take 1 tablet of each, just checked and the RJ is 1000mg and the CoQ10 is 100mg.

No sadly we never got any embryos to freeze, they were always excellent up until day 5 but then we only had 2 or 3 still alive and then the ones we had transferred didn't make it either. Hoping this time will be different.

Hey all

Just catching up on here.

Scan went well I think thanks Blueflower but nowhere near as many follicles as you. That's a great amount !

Consultant measured 9 follicles which were showing 18-20mm. She said there were others hiding that she couldn't see clearly and didn't bother measuring the smaller ones?

I took my trigger injection tonight and go in for EC on Wednesday morning. It's all happening so fast now! X
