I was told not to wear perfume or nail polish on my fingers, make up, contact lenses or earrings for Egg collection. Nail polish on my toes was fine, don't know why! Also heard not to wear perfumed deodorant for Embryo transfer as they don't like it! Think I heard that on here rather than from the nurses! You will want a shower before the procedure but I agree, get some unperfumed shower gel or soap. Its not surprising you feel rubbish today, I was in tears with worry before my first egg collection as I didn't know what to expect. I have got tearful just before going into theatre each time since as well as it is scary!
Lots of ladies who get BFPs don't have any symtoms Maria, I really hope you are one of those. Don't go to the baby shower if you don't feel like it, just say that you don't feel well, its not a lie! I have never been to one and don't intend to even have my own!
I spoke to my manager about the leave and she said she was just trying to protect me as I'd hit the trigger and will speak to her manager, she understood about the time off and said it might be ok if I get a doctors note.
My protocol for this (hopeful) frozen transfer seems to be 3 scans to see if one egg is dominant so they know roughly when I will ovulate. (The nurse said they aren't interested in that egg!) Wonder if we should avoid BDing in case we get 2 babies & they don't know know which is the one they tested, ha ha! I won't ask in case she says no! Started the steroids yesterday, then I take trigger shot when egg is nearly ready, then they defrost the embryos, test them on day 3 then we prepare for a transfer on day 5. I'm not looking forward to the call on day 5, it will either be "we have an embryo for you, come up now!" or " sorry none of the embryos were normal so we can't do a transfer." Trying not to think about it! Maybe we'll get the result on day 4 instead, that would be better. If its bad I'm going home from work, if its good I'll be jumping around the room because then we will have an 80% chance of a BFP! DH isn't very positive but I have to be!
