Thanks for all your support ladies. You are amazing.
So, I went to the centre at 7:30am. It doesn't open until 8 so it was strange being there without even any reception staff! The doctor who did my scratch was the 'other' consultant - an expert in PCOS - and she was lovely. I took a tablet with paracetamol and codeine in beforehand (thanks Blueflower and Dee!) in preparation for the pain. It went in smoothly and then she said, "This is going to hurt". I looked at DH and winced - it did hurt a little. She said I had a high pain threshold as she's had ladies on that table screaming like they were giving birth before!!! Hahahaaaa.
She also said my cervix and everything 'down there' looked good, which is unusual for me seeing as I have been referred by a gynaecologist for a colposcopy because she saw something (and I'm always bleeding).
The whole thing took less than five minutes which I was quite surprised about. It seems she was also surprised as she told me it usually takes 10 to 15 minutes and this means the egg transfer should go smoothly.
As she is so lovely, she wanted to make sure we were doing everything possible to boost our chances. She asked if I was taking a vitamin D supplement (I am), and then asked if I was having acupuncture. I explained we had an argument about that last night and she said it helps, and she knows two good acupuncturists - then named mine. DH then said he was wrong about it!

So I will be having it and all is good.
I then went into work far too early but was surprisingly awake. I haven't had any pain since. Xxx
