Ladies doing IUI or IVF - 2016 (11 BFPs so far!)

If anything it was a day earlier than I thought it would be and wayyy more sudden. Had some pink yesterday when wiping, then brown this morning and then full blown red. Seemed to come on a lot quicker than my period normally would. So I just don't know!

I had a headache on Friday but had nothing since. I'd usually get really bad cramps in my lower back the day before or day of af but I've had nothing which is weird! But surely I'd be in pain if it was a miscarriage?

I'm really confused as never seen anything like it before apart from during my miscarriage.. so of course jumping to the worst conclusion here :(

That's rubbish Millie, I'm sorry - did you get any positive tests at all?

I had to send mine from Hong Kong so it took ages to get there, nearly two weeks I think, wasn't a problem.

I just brought saline solution from the chemist, contact lens solution is just saline I think, I remember when I had my belly button pierced they told me to wash it with contact lens solution :)

I hadn't tested since 10dpo (or maybe it was 9dpo?) And it was a bfn then. Thought I saw something super faint on a test I did at 8dpo though. :(

I'll test when I get out of bed I guess.

Could it just be leftover from the miscarriage? what I passed never really looked like everything :(

Well it's cd2 so today I will be doing my menstrual blood sample for Serum, not exactly sure how I am going to get it in the urine container, this should be interesting lol !.
Syd how long did it take for you to get your results back ?. x

Looks like a bfn? I'd only be 15dpo? So no idea then. :(

Xmillie, it sounds like it might of been left over tissue. Just noticed your dog profile pic, I lost my dog around 8 weeks ago, I've been complete mess since, feel like I lost a child , they take a big piece of our hearts with them when they leave us.
Also forgot to mention that Serum told me to take 2g inositol twice a day !, so thats a big amount isn't it ?, I'll recheck it but that's probably equivalent to 2 teaspoons a day. xx

Yeah could have been :(
I did get a sample in the end and that's sent off now, so hopefully it'll get there safe and we'll have some answers..

I'm so sorry for your loss :( our animals really become part of the family and it's so hard when they pass.
Our poor girl was put to sleep Monday so not even a week yet :(
Didn't really need that and then my period a day later! But that's life!

So 2g twice a day? Seems like so much!

I had a right job to get my sample, had to try and hold the pot there and hope some went in, took a few goes lol. Did you send yours via post office, was it tracked post ?, and did they ask what was inside it ?. My sample is in the fridge as I thought best to send it on Monday.

So sorry for your loss to xmillie, I have some big canvas pics up of my girl, I'll never find a beauty like her again.

And yes it would be 4g per day, thats what Sophia told me. xx

Yep! Had the same problem, was a real mission but got there in the end lol.

Sent it tracked and they did ask what was inside and it's value, used Syd's white lie and said it was an ornament. They also asked the value so said £5. Not sure if that effected the price of postage was about £10.

Oh wow! I'm wondering if I can take the 3 unopened ones back to a holland and Barret with no receipt.. the powder would be so much easier!

I would think its fine to take them back with no receipt if you explain that you need to take a large dose and you need lose powder instead, definitely worth a try.

Ah that's good that your parcel is tracked, thats what I will do on Monday, I was reading the Serum protocol and if you tell them what it really is you have to fill in all infection control forms and it will end up costing around £70 to post it, so I will be saying ornament too. Let me know how you get on with your tests. I'm a bit worried incase they find something as will my OH need to be treated too ?. x

Hi ladies, sorry I have been quiet its been an eventful couple of months, by first IVF resulted in BFP which was great but I also got moderate OHSS and was admitted to hospital for a week, I put on over 2 stone in fluid, had a scan at 6 weeks 4 day and saw the heartbeat.
Sadly I went for a scan when I would have been 9 weeks 4 days and there was no heartbeat, it has stopped at 8 weeks 5 days, I had no symptoms of miscarriage at all, still had all my pregnancy symptoms.
Its been a very sad time for me, my partner and and our families, and I am really struggling to get my head around the loss and to move forward. I do have 4 x 5 day blasts frozen but I have all sorts of worries going around in my head now, was it me? Is there something wrong with all our embryos, will it happen again etc, will I even get BFP again etc.
We are unexplained, had all the tests done prior to IVF and nothing at all shows up as our problem to conceive.
When we had IVF I had 23 eggs collected but only 6 fertilised, which they said was disappointing so maybe fertilisation our problem.
I am still bleeding at the moment from miscarriage, does anyone know how long you have to wait to do a FET?
Does anyone know of anyone who has had an IVF miscarriage and then had success with FET?
I hope you are all doing well, I am sorry I haven't commented, I had been watching the forum but with feeling so ill, I felt apprehensive about announcing the BFP to anyone xxx

They are still all seeled so hmm I might just try next time I'm in the area!

Yeah I wasn't up for paying £70!!
I was actually wondering about that too, I guess we could ask if they happen to find anything.

Oh gosh, hopeful I'm so sorry to hear that :(
xx

I'm so sorry that things didn't work out this time around :(

I don't think it's disappointing that 6 fertilised! It doesn't matter that they got 23, the others may not have been mature. 6 fertilised is a great number. Some women only get 1 fertilised so try not to be disheartened.

I wish you the best of luck going forward with your journey xx

Ladies, so sorry about the loss of your pets. I've lost dogs in the past, have two now (they still live in the UK, I miss them dreadfully but travel back every couple of months to see them) and live in fear of how I will cope when something happens to them! They're only 5 and 8ish (both rescues so not completely sure).

Lil, I think my results came back in a few days once they confirmed the sample had arrived. Yes, if they find something your partner will need to be treated too. I honestly thought my partner would refuse! He didn't. What is it about that that worries you?

Hopefulmum, so sorry for your loss, I can't even imagine how awful it must be after seeing a heartbeat. I don't really know much about fet's, I assume you need to have one cycle so that they know where you are. I've heard of lots of people having success from fet's after failed IVF. You may want to look at the fertilityfriends website, it's aimed at people that are having to go the treatment route or at least have been struggling for a long time. It's a really helpful, friendly site and people on there have a wealth of knowledge. There will almost certainly be a board for your clinic as well so you can chat to other ladies that are cycling same time and place. Best of luck.

May - good luck!

Had another scan today, saw a yolk sac so not a blighted ovum but no fetal pole which they should definitely see by 7+ weeks and gestational sac is over a week behind, doctor is 100% confident in her miscarriage diagnosis (pending miscarriage I guess) but has said to come back next week for one final scan just to put my mind at rest. To be honest, I'm also "comfortable" with that diagnosis, ties in with bloods slowing down too fast and lack of symptoms. Will go for the scan anyway but I'm currently drinking a glass of wine. Doctor recommends medical management rather than surgical which I'm not too excited about because it bloody hurt last time at 8 weeks - hope they give me some good pain meds :(

Hopefulmum, I'm so sorry , hugs to you.

Syd, I'm so sorry to read this, I was really thinking and hoping this was your rainbow , life is so unfair, thinking of you. Will you be going back to Serum to try donor egg IVF ?, thats the best option Sophia told me at our age.

I'm just feeling a bit anxious about the hidden tests incase they find something bad as I read they test for hepatitis too, my OH is worried as said if I have anything he will have it too. I sent my sample this morning as an ornament, apparently takes up to 5 days to get there. x

Syd, I'm sorry to hear that. :( it's just not fair. I was really hoping this was it for you :( xx

I put my tracking info in on Royal Mail and the package is already in Athens after sending it Saturday. That's pretty good. Hopefully they'll receive it in the next couple of days.

Just passed by the thread and reading a lot of disheartening news, sorry for the losses ladies. Big hugs to you all xx
Hopefulmum, it only takes 1 and you have 4 remaining, which is great!
May good luck of the weekend!

Lil, I don't remember anything about hepatitis testing, are you sure? If you had hepatitis I'm pretty sure you'd know about it. Also, remember that if you do test positive for something it could just as easily be something he gave to you!!! No reason whatsoever to think it must have originated with you. Plus I've read that hidden chlamydia (the one people tend to worry about) can have some kind of link to chest infections or something like that and although it is sexually transmitted that's not necessarily how it started. You get tested for "regular" chlamydia with any ivf treatment and that came back negative for me. The whole point of treating you both is no-one knows where it originated to it just needs to be cleared from both of you at the same time. It's a little unfair of your oh to say that to you - next time remind him it could be him that gave it to you!! :)

Thanks ladies. Yes, onto donor egg treatment at Serum now although I'm not sure when I'll be able to get there, may be early in the new year. I honestly feel completely comfortable with that decision and just relieved that next time I'm pregnant (fingers crossed) I won't be worrying so much about egg quality - just everything else :)

MrsLaw, hope you're getting on ok.
