Ladies doing IUI or IVF - 2016 (11 BFPs so far!)

Thanks ladies. Negative result confirmed with official test this morning, spotting has started.

I'm gutted for you Syd - it just sucks, I really thought it would work for you - you inspired me to consider IVF, i just don't understand life sometimes I know we're older and all the crap stats but it just makes no sense to me on an emotional level that at 45 we can't have a healthy baby, I don't feel old, sending you a bloody big hug, I know we don't know each other but with respect to TTC I've shared stuff here I'd never share with my friends xxxxx

Thanks so much Clementine that means a lot, I know exactly what you mean about sharing stuff with people on here.

I can't get my head around the fact it didn't work. It was a really good embryo transferred on the best day, my lining was perfect and they told me the transfer was text book, I had the scratch and we used embryo glue. I didn't necessarily think it would develop properly but I really thought it would stick at least for a while. Feels naive now.

I would happily do the ivf again, I didn't have any problems with any stage of it. My OH doesn't want to though. Are you going to give it a go?

OH definitely won't agree to another round of IVF. I may look at doing a natural IUI in April just because I'm in the UK over my ovulation date and his sperm is frozen at the clinic, seems daft not to. Otherwise we're back to trying naturally but with his current sex drive that's pretty much a non-starter. I really do think it's over for me.

Hi Syd, I reckon you might as well try IUI.

I know how you feel about DH's sex drive. I have the same problem - if he's stressed it's a no go and to be honest, it's no fun having to do it to a schedule .

I went for iui no 3 on friday and i'm on dreaded tww.

I'm really worried about exercising during the tww. I've gotten into a routine of running every 6 days a week and i've got lots of pent up energy. Does anyone else exercise on the tww?

I hope everyone's well.

I've just been catching up on this thread. I am so sorry to hear that things haven't gone so great this month for a lot of people

I had to get away from anything IVF related for a few weeks. However, AF is certainly on her way so I guess round 2, take two is about to begin!

I have always been very lucky and have never suffered with my periods but my god I have a new found respect for anyone who regularly suffers from PMT! It has hit me like a sledge hammer this week....I thought me baps were going to explode yesterday!

My body is doing things to me that it has never done before and I have decided to look at it as a positive.....mayb I've got some more eggs (or even just an egg!) brewing this month. Fingers crossed.

Good luck to everyone starting new cycles!

Definitely give it a go. How do you think your OH would feel about using softcups to try and help. That way he just has to 'do his business' in the softcup, give it to you and you insert it?
People have had success with it, we have done it in the past when we just didn't feel like dtd or couldn't for whatever reason. It really is so unromantic but so is everything ttc related xx

We had our appointment tonight to go over consent and our fertility plan. My god there's hundreds of things to sign! We're starting on the middle of the way drug package, because of my AMH they were going to put me on the poor responder but because of my age they think it might not be a good balance. I'm happy to trust whatever they think! I've to call them next week when my period arrives and start the injections 3 weeks after that. I'll have other appointments in between but that's when it'll officially be starting. She gave me a checklist of the process which really helps to see it al written down.

They also told us they're doing a trial of giving everyone ICSI, whether there's an issue with sperm or not. They said there's much better success rate with doing ICSI than basic IVF so for no extra cost just now they're giving everyone ICSI. I didn't see any reason why not to try it? They think it'll boost our chances even further so fingers crossed. I also seen the counsellor again but was less emotional this time. I'm feeling really positive at the moment so I'm praying my bubble doesn't burst! Xx

I think that's great that they're offering everyone ICSI. The stats are much better with ICSI from what I've read too. You may have a really good chance!

Dear ladies

Thks for all the comforting words... Well, the day after tomorrow will be the TWW.... Done my 5th IUI today and hope it goes well this round.... Had four eggs and great size above 2.0.... Cramping since yesterday were told by Doctor that eggs are releasing that's why it hurts... On progesterone too this cycle!!!! Finger crossed!!! Hope everyone gets good results too and BFP!!!!

This is fab. So are they doing long or short protocol? That's great about ICSI, that usually costs a fair bit extra xx
