Ladies doing IUI or IVF - 2016 (11 BFPs so far!)

I took my last antibiotic today but I've never been so sick before after taking them :(

I hope that they still do their job? Worried their got shot out of my system before they could even do anything!

XMillie and Syd, I've just started my antibiotics day 3, the Serum instructions say to take them on an empty stomach but on the Doxycycline box it says to take with a meal, just wondered how you both took yours ?.

Blimey Millie, sorry to hear you were sick today, I wouldn't think it would affect it as it was your last day of them. xx

There are two different antib’s in the course, I think one you take with food and one without. However, quite a few people do react badly to them and Serum said to me if they make you feel sick or have a bad stomach take them with a little food. I think it’s the zithromycin (sp?) you take one big dose at a time and that upset my boyfriends stomach. The doxy you take over the course of a few days (I may have that the wrong way round) and by the end of the course the doxy was making me feel sick so I just started taking it with food and then it was fine.

Millie, I agree with Lil, I wouldn’t worry.

Yes the Zithromycin was a big dose first day, then I've missed a day and on doxycycline twice a day, thats the one that says on the box to take with food. I took the zithromycin on an empty stomach. xx

The doxy we were taking just before food
So I'd take it and then have breakfast and then take it just before my evening meal xx

Xmillie yes that's exactly what I'm doing, before breakfast and tea time. No side effects so far.

Syd I forgot to reply to your previous message, yes I have tried melatonin and I'm still on it now 1mg before bed, unfortunately it doesn't help with my chronic insomnia. xx

We were both fine with the Doxy. It was the other one that made me ill yesterday. And felt sick the first time taking it too.

Af due soon, then we'll see if this has helped?

They didn't say not too so we had been dtd the whole month now thinking about it maybe we shouldn't have been?

Oh I don't know I pretty much give up!

I had no nausea with the Arithromycin. I emailed Serum asking about dtd on the antibiotics and I was told not to and if we did to use condoms, something about passing it back and forth to each other. I can't understand this as surely we would both be cured the same time. We will start ttc next attempt and we will still have a few more days of tablets to take. xx

Yeah it crossed my mind after..
it's too late now :(

I do really give up though, I think I need to :(

Okay I feel a little better but still confused by it all..
The antibiotic treatment period for chlamydia seems so varied?
I was reading somewhere that it says not to have sex for the first 7 days of treatment but then this was for a much shorter course?

We defo didn't dtd for the first 7 days as af was here..

But we've probably messed it up. I'm so angry at myself that I was so stupid to not even think about it. I think my hubby would get mad if I told him :(

Lil 1mg is a really low dose. I was taking 2 x 3mg pills and right now I’m taking 1 x 10mg pill, fought them off the shelf in Hong Kong.

Serum never said anything to me about not dtd whist on the antibiotics. I wouldn’t worry too much, when you fall pregnant or do an ivf cycle they’ll put you back on a low dose anyway.

Millie I honestly can't see it making any difference not dtd while on the antibiotics, myself and my OH both tested negative at the UK sexual health clinic, hidden Chlamydia is sealed off inside your uterus. If you both take the treatment the same time you will both be cured the same time surely ?, how can you pass infection on that is sealed in the uterus ?.

Syd I will try 2 or 3 melatonin tablets tonight, wow 10mg is a massive dose. I read that over. 4mg can affect ovulation ?. xx

Ah yes good point, I wasn’t thinking in terms of ovulation. Definitely keep it lower. I really only use the 10mg when I have bad jet lag and i’m not worrying about ovulation any more I guess.

I was asking about my clinic (NHS funded) on another forum and one lady told me they weren't allowed to do their cycle for another 6months after a mc because she had conceived naturally (while waiting to start ivf) and it would have been a year but she was almost 40..

I'm so scared now. I know it's a little different as we've already had our cycles but scared they're going to tell us to wait a year now and that this appointment is going to be a waste of time :(

Aww Millie I hooe it's different because ryou already have started the process and had your cycles xxx

Hi Millie, when I had my mc with iui at an nhs clinic I was told I had to wait until 2 periods before I could have another round of iui. I bled for nearly 3 weeks and it took about 3 months before I went back to start iui again. 6 months seems excessive but maybe the lady was further along than I was so maybe they make you wait 6 months

The wait was because she had conceived naturally
And we did conceive naturally too :(

I'll find out on Friday I guess

Just been through a whole nother ivf cycle with donor swimmers. Today was test day. Negative :(

Had really bad results with the embryologist though - 8 collected, 4 immature, 3 fertilised abnormally leaving only one embryo which was graded at 2 (4 being great and 1 being rubbish) which they put back the very next day.

Feel like I'm never going to get pregnant now. I don't have a partner so it's as many chances as I can afford to pay for which is now very limited :( and I'll be 40 next year.

Sorry to hear that hon. Hugs. Do you think you’ll try and freeze some eggs in prep for when you can afford a full cycle?

I'm so sorry Tinselcat :(
It's so rubbish

My appointment today felt a waste of time. An hours journey all to sign a bit of paper. I hoped they'd sorted out a treatment plan but no we need another appointment.. going back 7th December for that. Then should be ready to start Jan.
The consultant said it's good news we did it once naturally, no concerns about why it didn't hang around.. just fed up
