**********january 2016 mummies**********

Well my Tuesday ended up fairly interesting!

Spent the day at the Maternity Assessment Unit, having urine/blood tests and hooked up to a monitor for babies heartbeat and my blood pressure. Went in to be tested for suspected pre-eclampsia, but all results came back borderline. They did however find out I have an infection and so at tomorrow's midwife appointment they will be monitoring my urine and BP again, and if above a certain amount in either, I have to be induced. Could turn out to be an interesting week for us...

fingers crossed everything goes ok at your appointment today

Oh good luck with that SAHF. Obviously hope it's nothing serious but you get to meet your baby soon. X

good luck sahf !!

anyone else been experiencing back ache ? Will be 37 wks tomorrow getting alot of back ache now

yes loads, I am 37wks on friday, past few days has been the most uncomfortable I have been lots of braxton hicks and baby applying lots of pressure in my pelvic area, unsure if she is trying to get engaged or just having a good wriggle just very difficult to get comfy.

I am the same kelly Lou a lot of weird pressure now! can tell things r getting closer !

I've just had a lovely 2 hr snooze much needed but have to up and out now as ds needs some new shoes for school so going straight.after I pick him up.

Thanks for the good luck wishes everyone! Today's midwife appointment went well. Blood pressure is right down again, urine/blood tests are all borderline so both hospital and midwife are happy for me to continue as normal! If baby hasn't arrived by next week then midwife will do me a sweep on Wednesday next week.

Back ache definitely increased over the past few weeks, maybe it's the pressure change with babies moving down and bumps dropping? I wear my Secret Saviours band every single day now, rain or shine, it's been an absolute saviour in stopping back ache and swelling/water retention in my lower tummy.

Oh so good that tue end is on sight!!

If the sweep works, definitely good to have a better idea of when things could start happening, if baby doesn't decide to show up before then! Bit nervous about the sweep itself. It wasn't what I thought it was (I expected it to be done with something almost like a smear test is done), wasn't expecting it to be done just with midwives fingers! I'm very, very conscious of 'down there' but I suppose it'll be practice for birth ha!

i'm with you on that SAHF ! due tomorrow but not looking like she's going to make a move anytime soon, i've pretty much felt exactly the same for the last 10 weeks or so doesn't feel like progressing at all :( so will likely be a sweep on tues which i was hoping to avoid, but i guess if it gets things moving then it's worth it

I've had sweeps before with my previous pregnancies and it is REALLY uncomfortable but just for seconds. They have a good deep poke around then if your cervix is slightly open they force their finger in and literally sweep it round. First time I had it I was less than 1cm and it was much worse. The more 'favourable' your cervix ie if labour is imminent anyway it is much more likely to be successful. I'm due to have one on Friday fingers crossed it gets things moving. Good luck.

Ha. Just realised that was probably a bit graphic for this time of day but hey ho. We are about to have babies and it doesn't get much more graphic than that! Dignity at the door?

haha! yup definitely at the stages now where we can no longer be shy i think!

Haha don't worry, we're all about to go through something more graphic than a description on here!!

I guess I'm just a bit nervous about someone else 'touching' me down there. And I know it's different and whatnot, but I'm not exactly one to just let anyone down there! I was bad enough stressing over my smear test (was in tears in the office before she did it because I was so nervous about someone seeing my bits!), this is making me feel the same. But I'm also in the mindset of 'well if it gets baby out....'

Trimester hopping but just want to wish you all loads of luck!!! So exciting that you are all having your babies! Xx

I'm the same SAHF (actually due on the same day, first baby and team yellow too) the thought of someone touching me down there really puts me off, however I have thought of it in a different way and it must be how the midwives see it too and that's it's baby's exit door, nothing else! Does that make sense? Or do I sound like a complete loon? Sweep- just knocking on baby's door :rotfl: now I know I sound crazy, but that's the way I'm going to think about my downstairs from now on till after baby's born!

Good luck everyone, I'm so excited and pooing myself at exactly the same time, like I'm sure the rest of you are too:lol:

Hi everyone

I was an October 2015 mummy

I now have an almost 11 week old boy who weighs 16lbs!
They don't stay little for long so soak them up, take loads of pics, enjoy them for every little stage they go through - even the crappier ones!
You'll feel a love you never even knew you had :)

Good luck to you all !!
X

So I went to see midwife today routine check up she said baby head was slightly engaged! (finally!!) also it has been snowing alot here in scotland the part where I am, this was one of my fears going into labor whilst it's snowing and roads r awful as my area is so high up!

If it came down to it Hello, would you be able to call an ambulance who would be better prepared for getting you to hospital?
