***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

Got the go ahead to go home such a shock xx back to clinic Monday so see how that goes xx yay I get to spend new years Eve with my two men :) xx

Good luck tomorrow TC, will be thinking of you and looking out for updates when you're ready!

Glad you are getting to go home TS, I imagine being stuck on the ward is not particularly conducive to staying relaxed!

Funny how so many of us had a bad night last night - must have been something in the air!

Yay to getting home TS. Enjoy you NYE.

TC an induction doesn't have to mean you cannot use your hypnobirthing principles. Yes its going to be a bit more medical but you don't have to accept any drugs for example. You can ask for sporadic monitoring as well. Although of course it depends on hiw baby is doing during the process.

Try not to worry. I know several people who have had very calm inductions

X

When ds was induced I only had two pessaries, gas and air and tens until 8cm then diamorphine. Though I'd have been in the bath if they'd got their finger out!! You can do it TC!!

You can def do it TC!!!

I do think it's v weird how last night was a bad night for a few of us!! It was my predicted date as well so v odd that I thought it was the real thing!!

Ceecee I was given a choice, and the only reason I'm having a c section is so I don't go overdue as the placenta deteriorated, so it's not like I medically need a c section- so I requested that if I go into labour then I be allowed to see how things progress and try a vbac.

They would only offer induction 2 weeks later at 41 weeks, which I didn't think was appropriate given the circumstances :-)

So I'm desperate to go naturally and avoid c section!!! X

Hi ladies... So haven't been on been a mad week since Boxing Day tbh, went in with bad swelling in feet and legs gave me stockings, sent me for growth scan as doc said baby looked big, had that Monday baby at 8lb 10 at the moment, had ecoli in urine gave me antibiotics and sweep sent me on my way. Today they phoned wanted to check what antibiotics I had, asked me to come along, ended up being monitored reduced movement and high bp. They decided induction is the way forward so just waiting in labour ward for doctors to confirm the go ahead. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekk
I'm so friggin nervous. Need to keep calm. Will keep updating if possible xx

Good luck kitty! Looks like you'll be our first New Year baby! xx :)

Well ladies. Baby W decided to be a 2014 baby. Meet baby Max born at half past 3 today weighing 6lb 14 1/2oz. He's amazing. Can't believe it.

spitting image of his daddy.

TC- Hope all goes well tomorrow! If you feel really unsure if its the right thing you can always ask a second opinion? Or have a chat with the doctor about other options like waiting a few more days? Some doctors are very quick to do inductions because it is easier than waiting around and doing lots of monitoring. I actually turned down induction with LO because I didn't agree with their reasons. Sometimes its just the best choice though (and your situation is a bit more complicated), if so I'm sure you will cope.

Mrs W, congratulations! He's lovely!

Kitty-hope it goes well!

OMG mrsw.

Did I miss you were in labour or was it really quick / sudden.

Welcome to the world wee Max. He is a beauty.

Thanks Bunny. I did try the "BRAN" (benefits, risks, alternatives, now) type questions with the doctors, but the consultant who recommended induction (I googled her yesterday) appears to be a specialist in things like pre-eclampsia, HELLP etc and from what I infer she seems a lot more concerned than any of the doctors who ever examined me at the hospital.

After so long waiting for this baby & the chance that this may be the only one (based on how many unsuccessful IVF cycles I had), I'd rather not jeapordise the baby if the risk is that great to him & he is full term now too. I don't feel I'd go into labour naturally pre-40 weeks so if this is his best interests I will put them first!

Thanks for the support though - all my family were like, yeah, you've got to do this thing!

Omg mrs w- what a wonderful ending to a difficult 2014 for you both- he's so beautiful, ever so happy for you xxxx

Happy new year ladies xxxx

Congratulations Mrs With he is absolutely gorgeous xx and good luck with inductions ladies xx
