***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

My cramps were like period pains really Nat, mixed with Braxton Hicks. They remained constant but not like contractions if that makes sense?

Contrats Morechocolate :)

I always wanted a boy first too so was thrilled when I got one. He's amazing and such a funny little chap. Like Nat though, this will be my last baby so I'm thrilled that we are having a girl so I can experience both. Always wanted the boy first though so he could look out for a younger sister!

Yay for last day Katy and hats off to you for working up to 39 weeks. I found it hard enough going up to 35.5 weeks to be honest with you!

Way TMI sorry, but this constipation is seriously getting out of hand now. Even the lactulose isn't working so I've just got desperate and eaten a whole bag of licorice! Will probably hugely regret it later as it's bound to give me tummy ache, but I feel so backed up and just cannot go to the toilet at all :/

Yay to it finally being your last day Katy.

As well lamented here I struggled to work to 38w so respect..... and now make sure you relax a bit.

As soon as I posted the cramps stopped. I'd been having them for about 2 hours. Never had anything with James other than the cramps on the day it started so wasn't sure.

On bus on route to my friend's baby shower. Not planning to stay long but apparently there is lots of cake *excited face*. Also will be nice to see some of my friends without James in tow.

Ceecee - Have you tried prunes? Prune juice? Syrup of figs? I'd go back to GP and see if they'll give you some Movicol.

Nat- I get painful BH/cramps. Usually its in the evening after I've done a bit much that day. They always go away fairly soon if I lie down and rest. They can last quite a while if I don't lie down. They don't really have a pattern but are often set off when I stand up from sitting/ bending over or making other movements. When I went into labour last time it felt exactly the same to start with but they didn't totally go away when I lay down and eventually started getting stronger /more painful.

Hope you have some nice cake :).

Is there a thread in baby and toddler for Jan mums yet? It would be nice to have one to carry on our little group through the newborn stage at least? Though once babies are here not sure how much time we will have for posting, lol.

I tried to get some prunes earlier but the shop didn't have any. Will see what affect this licorice has tonight and see if I can pick some up tomorrow.

I like the idea of a jan mums group post labour. I know people are busy when they've just had a baby but it is quite nice being in a group with babies at a similar stage to your own :)

Enjoy the cake, I mean baby shower Nat lol.

Congratulations to all the ladies with babies!! Can't wait till my turn :-)

Yeh, I was thinking it would be nice. Last time I felt a bit lost going straight into babys and toddlers. It seemed like such a huge difference between LO and the older babies/toddlers most of the posts were about.

I agree- I still keep firmly in touch with the April and May mummies from 2013, although after a while we switched to Facebook and now we're on whatsapp!!! Love them and their support was invaluable when Freddie was born so I'm definitely up for a jan mummies group :-)

Spent the day trying to get a little more organised. The part I'm finding most stressful is making sure Freddie's ready to stay with his Grampy for a couple of nights. It's ridiculous how much we've left until the last minute

Hospital bag is repacked as I wasn't happy with it. My mum is amazingly cooking a roast and bringing it round to have with us tomorrow lunch time- how kind is that?!!! Hubby is still complaining about housework haha!!! X

Had this painted in our nursery today. Really pleased with it. One owl for each child. x

Congrats morechocolate xxx boys are so much fun xx love the owl mural hun xx how are your cramps Nat xx

The tree and owls are so sweet lotty, looks lovely.

Jolly, I agree about all the last minute stuff. I was thinking that we had done all the mayjor stuff, which we kind of have but it has suddenly hit me how many small things there are to do and how little time there is! As far as our little girl goes it helps that we are planning a home birth though because the time she is away from us will hopefully be minimal.

Love the nursery pic Lotty :)

Yeah Jolly, I'm still in touch will the ladies who had babues when I had my son and it's great. It feels like we've all been on a journey together and even though we haven't met I still consider them close friends :)

Eeek, Jolly, one more sleep!!!

Love the nursery Lotty and the meaning behind the owls.

How do you cope with so many kiddies? Lol.

We still have a thread in B&T for when we had our November 2012 babies. Although we don't post much anymore.

I think a January thread is a good idea but I'd probably wait until all the babies are here as a) I'm superstitious and b) it saves entering all the birth info twice?

For the time being maybe January mummies who have had their babies can just post here? I think they are all pretty busy at the moment though.

Nothing more from me in way of cramps. Got a bit scared I must say. Only cramps I had at all last time were the start of labour.

X

Thanks for lovely comments about wall mural girlies. We had fun yesterday, the children are getting so excited. We also did this canvas, one handprint each, plus a splodge that was the dogs paw. Just a space for our baby's handprint now.
In at 7.30 am tomorrow for induction so am aiming to have a restful day..... We shall see!

Good luck for induction Lotty xx love the handprints and pawprint idea too its lovely xx

Tmi moment just got up with Tyler and went to looters was clear like mucus when I wiped could this be the start of my plug I have no idea as I never got this far before :) the

Could be your plug TS? Sounds promising.

Love the canvas Lotty..... its so meaningful and I love how you got the dog in on it. I can only imagine what my cat would do with paint on her paws.... I was so crap and never did handprints or footprints with James. May do it with them both though and I may get some professional photo's taken as I know this is last one.

Jolly and Lotty best of luck for tomorrow. Will be stalking for updates.

Just had a wee moment as today I'm in single figures. 9 days to due date. Considering I'm in denial about it all that is quite a scary prospect lol

X

Good luck for tomorrow Jolly and Lotty! Exciting to know more babies are on their way very soon!

No change here, I remain grumpy, achey and tired. Sun is shining so might drag myself off the sofa for a walk to the beach in a bit.

Slightly jealous of sunshine spallerina, this is an improvement on this morning!
