Good morning!

We have chosen our clinic (put deposit down on Weds) and we are going March 2018. Flights etc have been booked and deposit paid.

I am soo excited :)

Team Miracle - North Cyprus in March.
Xx

Goodluck!!! Hopefully you will be celebrating Christmas 2018 with a newborn!

Thank you so much guys. Always wanted a Christmas baby :)

The relief and change of dynamics to our relationship has been crazy. We are so much better together. I never thought TTC had effected us as much but we are much happier in ourselves.

So excited to be on our journey - eeeeek! Xx

That's amazing, it's so so nice to have a plan. You definitely feel the difference right away when you know you have help to look forward to and not an endless dark tunnel. We had ivf in march and are due a few days after Xmas, so your timeline will be roughly the same. I can't wait for a wee Xmas baby!

Wishing you so much luck for when it comes around hun xxx

Awww congrats!!!!

I seriously can't wait - wish it was now lol!

May I ask what you had done etc? Was it in the uk? Xx

Great news cocker. I have to say, even though it failed, the month we did ivf was the easiest month since starting to try 2 years ago. It's so nice not to have to control everything but just do as you're told :)

Thank you Syd, so sorry your cycle didn't work.

I have worries that ours won't but I am keeping my hopes up and the dr seems to think it should be successful.

Does anyone know any ivf blogs/websites that I can read? Xx

Have you looked at fertilityfriends? It's a great website and will have a section for your clinic.

Of course :) we're in Glasgow so had it done here. We had to pay privately as already have a son but we went through an NHS hospital which saved us money! We're unexplained but ended up having ICSI purely because our clinic was offering free ICSI to everyone at the time as part of a trial to see if ICSI has higher success rates. We didn't see it doing any harm so were happy to take part. I have a low AMH and we were on the long protocol so took 6 weeks from first injection to pregnancy test.

If you have any questions I'm happy to answer them! Xx

We get ICSI and 5 day blasts within our package altho dont think we need them. My OH sperm results were just borderline normal but they said will improve once his sugars stablise as he had just been diagnosed type 2 with very high sugars. i am not ovulating due to low progesterone but everything else seems fine.

Whats the difference between long and short?

I really cant find anything that goes into depth about IVF - i am kinda just learning as i am going along xx

Hi hun

We may end up going to Cyprus but unsure exactly how it works. Do you just have to go out the once? Do you organise your own accommodation?

Really hope it works for you. My hospital keep scheduling my laparoscopy during AF - getting really annoyed now...

So sorry cockermum, I thought I'd replied.

I definitely think ICSI gave us a better fertilisation rate so I would recommend it. We got 11 eggs retrieved, 9 fertilised and 6 were top quality embryos.

Does your clinic have a website breaking it down? My clinic does and I found it so helpful. It explained every fertility treatment and gives a timeline, as well as FAQ and gives you case study examples. I can send you the link if you want to have a wee read?

Long and short protocols start on different times of your cycle and last different amounts of time. Short protocol starts on days 1-3 of your own cycle and lasts around 4 weeks, long protocol starts around day 21 of your cycle and lasts 6 weeks (the total time is from beginning until pregnancy test, so your tww is included in that). There's lots of different treatments involved in each process too!

CockerMum I'd suggest joining fertility friends and read Agates files on all things IVF! Although it's centered around Serum in Greece much of it is generic ivf information.

I've done three cycles now, I have a son who's nearly three and I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant after a frozen embryo transfer. Both successful cycles have been with Serum in Greece. Feel free to ask me anything and wishing you the very best of luck!

Hi Phonixgirl,

I am pretty much a newbie - everything i am finding out is either from the clinic of boards like this. Fertility friends have a fab one dedicated to cypus IVF, although quiet atm.

Yes we just go out there CD10 have EC and then ET, you can fly back the day after ET but we are staying longer to get a holiday out of it.

You can either go through them for accomodation or find your own. We have found atm that going it alone is working out cheaper.

We have paid our clinic deposit and also our flights atm. we are just waiting to hear back from some northern travel companies for hotel. We will be renting a car out there aswell so we can travel to the clinic but also do some of the island.

If there is anymore question please just ask and will answer the best i can. currently we are budgeting 7.5k which is alot cheaper than we were quoted here for ICSI also have spending money, time lapsing, scans, meds etc all in that aswell.

Sorry about your hospital - we were refused any NHS help so this is why we opted for IVF.

xx

Hey ladies,

thanks for the reply - will check out the files :D

i will buy progesterone etc whilst over there as they have said its alot cheaper but for stimming i will need to buy here - is it a case of just shopping around?
