My 9 year old niece went into hospital last week for her 30th operation.
When she was born, her hips were dislocated, she had a cleft lip and palate, her hands were turned in on themselves and she had mild muscular dystrophy.
This time, her left hip was pinned and her leg straightened by breaking it and having it set crooked.
She didn't complain all the time we were there even though the morphine made her sick.
I am in awe of all that she has done and borne at such a young age and I am in awe of her mother's strength too.
Here's to the heroes! I can't even stand watching Naomi be vaccinated!
