Been reading up on it and passing clots is completely normal with condition you have... Very frightening though. After doing a bit of research I feel so much more positive for you hun... Just wish we could fast forward time so you could get the answers you need X X X

Hi Clover, I didn't realise I was pregnant, I thought I was having an unusually painful and start stop period, I was told to test then when that came back positive was sent to EPU for a scan I was just 6 weeks then. Initially they thought the clot was a twin pregnancy. The clot started off small, I was scanned a week later and it had grown even though I was constantly bleeding. I was scanned 5 times by the EPU to track the size of the clot, by my 12 week scan it had disappeared completely and the bleeding stopped.
They said they are hard to measure accurately on a scan as its moving and can be wrapped around the sac etc. All I was told was to avoid heavy lifting (which is difficult with a 21 month old!)

Hope my story gives you hope. I never thought you could bleed so much and have so much pain and still be pregnant. Xx

Just to say I passed significant clots, it was the SCH coming away. Mostly it was dark blood but I did have red blood also. Xx

Thanks for doing that research Becky, I don't know if I mentioned this but I I did have this condition but only very mild with my little boy but only had very light minimal bleeding at around 9 weeks and it only lasted 2 days had a scan and it showed the bleed but also a healthy baby, he is now a healthy 4 year old
They called it something else but it was a bruising outside the sac same as this

The thing that is worrying me more than the bleeding is the fact that I only measured 5/6 weeks at my scan on Monday and last week
Although it had grown it's still only a sac and a yolk no sign of a developing baby I know appropriate dates when I concived so how can I be out so much?

Hard to know what's happening Gail, but we do so frequently hear stories of little beans that take a long time get started, and turn out to be healthy babies. All you can do is wait but I would give epu another go tomorrow, tell them it's got worse so they listen and hopefully scan. You need to be quite demanding sometimes as they would rather you just waited. Fx for you honey X X X

The only thing with being scanned too soon is you might not see any/ enough significant change to get answers as to what is going on with baby. That's why they say ten days.

I really hope that there is a positive outcome for you hun I really do.

I've got really bad right sided cramps I'm going to ring EPU for advice I think
They don't open till 8.30

Emily I don't think they'll scan me again and tbh I will just be in limbo again if there is no change

Rang EPU they said since the cramps have eased they dont need to see me but they have moved my scan to Monday morning 10am

So I will know then what's happening

She said if I get any pain or cramping over the weekend to go to A&E

.cramps have eased loads , I'm glad the scan is on Monday but not sure if they will see any change.... it will be a week so there should be I'm not thinking as positive as I was
