From miscarriages to miracle - James Michael. Our sticky bean born on Daddy's B'day

We went to London Zoo today!!! James slept for most of it lol, but this is a piccie of him by the penguins.

I love the zoo but my 4 year old and 2 year old nephews have wiped me out, my sister is 8 months preggers I don't know how she copes... I need a nap!

Did you take them all yourself today ? You brave woman!

I won't take J to the zoo until he bothers, as much as I love the animals, Edinburgh Zoo stinks

Glad u had a good/tiring day!

Dear God, nope I didn't take them all. My sister came too, but as she is so heavily preggers so I was helping out (piggy backing one nephew round half the zoo has shattered me ). Jame slept most of the time so I took over with her boys as much as I could.

London Zoo is amazing, so busy in the school holidays though

I would love to go to London Zoo! I might make oh take M and me there one weekend!
We have Longleat safari park near us and it is amazing!!
Sounds like you had a fab day!

Russell, the thing about Edinburgh Zoo is that it is on a bloomin massive hill!!! I want to see the Pandas though!

I wanna see the pandas too - and the penguins. I actually tuned into the live webcam in the penguin spot to see the new baby ones. I love penguins, actually all artic or sea animals I love. We went to zoos in florida I actually got to pet my fave animal, a manatee :D

God Nat that sounds madness, all the kids. I bet it deffo put things in perspective being out with more than one baby, thankfully James was a gem and slept :p

Ah, I love zoos :) can't wait to take Harry when he's old enough to appreciate it. Our nearest is Whipsnade... James is getting quite a bit of hair now - does he have any teeth yet? We still have a gummy bear! xxx

Ooooooo the zoo squeee I love the zoo!!!!

But pandas Natalie. ...you know how i feel about pandas! Cute as fuck yes...but totally crap as an animal and rubbish at being a bear! They eat only bamboo WHY PANDAS WHY its so low value nutrition wise they have to eat loads! Eat something else fml pandas and not only that they don't even LIKE each other and rarely mate. ...evolution is telling them something

However they are so fluffy and sweet it'd be a shame to see them go

Rant over

James is still a gummy bear but I can see a tooth just below gumline so I reckon anytime soon... Eeeek! He is a little more grumpy than usual which is hard as he is normally such an easy going baby.

I love Panda's but yep as animals they are totally useless... London Zoo doesn't have them anymore though.

James saw a few things but slept for most of it lol

Yay good news on the approaching tooth!

We didn't notice J's pop through perhaps because he had been teething since 8w so it didn't seem any harder if tht makes sense?

People say LOs are a nightmare when cutting teeth aswell.

Pandas cuteness over rules everything! I have axolotls, researchers use theyr DNA for growing stem cells and growing organs! So I think my animal is pretty cool for the planet. Random info there LOL!

Oh no the dreaded teething starts! I think Harry has been teething since he was about 2 months old as he dribbles for England and has always been a bit of a grumpy baby lol. Hope James doesn't get too grumpy. Poor things eh, it's not much fun for them xx

I've got the Calpol out for the baby (and a glass of Pinot Grigio ready for Mummy when James goes to bed )

I think it's pretty good going that we've got to 9 months without needing any medicine.

Feeling a bit pissed off, been at my Mums all afternoon and my nephews were all there. The one nearest James in age (3 weeks younger) is so much more advanced. He sits for ages, he almost crawls forwards, he has teeth... Bro and SIL have never compared and they are super supportive - when I voice any worries they assure me James is perfect and will do it in his own time - so they've not said anything to upset me! It's just me being silly I guess..

I know you aren't meant to compare them but you can't help it. I barely go on the November Mummies thread anymore as it makes me feel so bad.

HV says he is just dandy and I know he is fine, but I am sick of people telling me how "big" he is... He is still a teeny baby, he is still learning and he'll "get it" in his own time.

James is a happy, smiley, placid little lad and I wouldn't change so much as a strand of hair on his head but I do feel the pressure of milestones and it annoys me.

Feel better now I've had a moan lol.

Awwww hun!

Don't feel bad your wee boy is perfect!

I know its easier said than done, I hate goin to MILs because all I get is how slim J is (even though BILs two girls were so sslim, beth is 3 and still so skinny! Its always a comparison in that house. All the way through pregnancy I was too skinny and how OHs cousin was massive compared to me, evn tho she's 5ft and was heaver thn me to begin with?!

Atleast your fam are being supportive hun!

Try not to worry too much I actually expected J to be much much older before his few milestones because boys usually do get things much later compared to little girls.

And, the positive thing as you say is James hasn't needed any meds and has been a joy to you and OH since he was born and will continue to be and when you do get to those milestones you'll be that bit prouder because youv waited. You'll probably find that after his first tooth, everything will be like boom one after the other!

You just get the wine poured and have a nice relaxing night with OH

.. But no sex!! LOL :p

Aww Hun I so know how ur feeling x my Evie is, what I say ''at the latter end of the development scale'' the scale is soo wide it's unreal! My eldest boy was the same! Didn't crawl at all just bum shuffled and walked at 16 months :) Evie is just about crawling at 10.5 months! There not babies 5 mins and I like that we have them as ''babies'' for a little longer :) hope ur ok xxx

Aww Nat. Sorry to see you feeling like that. It is great that your family are supportive though and James is doing just great!

I often get told how "big" Madison is, not height but weight wise as she is now just under the 98th centile. She has lots of wee rolls on her arms and legs but I just love her.
I think there is just too much pressure on mummies to make sure their babies are keeping up with others.

I'm quiet happy that M isn't crawling yet, I miss her being so small and little so any ounce of baby left and ill cling on to it :) xx

Oh hon, it's so hard not to compare. I sometimes wonder if Harry is more difficult than some babies and whether he's eating enough, should he be eating more finger foods etc etc But look at James eating all those different foods like rice and couscous! I tried to get Harry to feed himself grated cheese today and he had no idea what to do with it! I have a friend who's baby is 6 months older than our boys and he's just started to crawl a month ago. Obviously James is happy where he is and is in no rush to do things until he's ready - how lovely to have such a chilled baby! I wish Harry was a little more chilled! xxx

LOL I agree, James seems to be progressing very well with weaning, J still gags on anything with texture - and he's got teeth ? See, a positive right away!!

Happy 9 months James!!!! Blimey!!! I can't believe we have a 9 month old

James has come on amazingly in the past ten day or so, hi eating is just great [3 meals a day], he seems to have dropped a bottle and he is moving all over the place. He's not crawling in the conventional sense but he kind of shuffles all over the room.

He was 19lb 13oz at 37w (so 2 weeks ago?), although he has only just moved to 9-12m vests. He still fits into most of his 6-9m stuff though but I've washed all of the next size up... He has a little pot belly but other than that he is all arms and legs...

We also have our very first tooth cutting through !!

James loves the cat and I can tell if she is in his eye-shot as he literally lights up.

Bub has also become really defiant lately and whilst he was never a 'cuddly' baby now if I don't have a bottle then he doesn't want to know. All he wants to do is be on the floor, playing with things and sucking on door wedges

Sleep isn't great because of the teeth, he awakens a few times a night but a quick stroke and some night-time whispers send him back off.

He still comes in with us for a morning snuggle but instead of sleeping he likes to pull hair, stick his finger up noses and generally be a little monster. I can't have my hair down if he is around as he'll have his hands in it as soon as he can.

He loves music, goes mad for it when we have it on loud. The louder the better.

He is wonderful though!! Such a happy little boy !!

I have loved each and every moment but I look forward to the next few months, James is really becoming himself now.

Aww James sounds just grand :) that's it now he is moving about! He will never sit still lol x

It's literally just been the past week Terri but even changing his bum is difficult!

He is currently rolling around without a nappy, pulling all the babywipes out lol! He is having such fun though
