Thanks Sarah, I have 12 days worth of stims, I am just hoping I don't need more as my gonal f alone is so expensive. I am sure I read that on the day of trigger I still take all my other stims, then nothing at all the next day, then collection. I do think mine is supposed to be done under GA too, I was hoping I hadn't made it up in my own head.

Browneyed girl, only just say your post in Sarahs reply. Sorry you hurt your back, hope it eases for you soon and that you get a good nights sleep tonight. Not long til testing, I have everything crossed for you xx

It's so expensive isn't it ! Our menopour worked out £500!
Ah great I was getting confused ha ha yup that's what they said to me x feel sorry for poor hubby, all the pressure on the day & needing the sample too!! X

Thanks girls, this bad back is a real pain as I'm not sleeping but it does give me something else to focus on haha! I can't believe OTD is nearly here, it's so scary but I can't stay in limbo for ever and I'm constantly on knicker watch so will be good to have some answers (I hope).

Sarah I had to take buserelin and gonal f at the usual time on trigger day and then did the trigger at the time the hospital gave me. I started progesterone pessaries (cyclogest) 2 days after transfer, they're not the nicest things to use but I hope I'll be on them for a few more weeks ;) I had 2 embryos put back so hoping at least 1 has stuck. Good luck for trigger tonight!

Lisey I think a lot of clinics use sedation rather than GA for collection. The principles afterwards are the same ie no driving and have someone with you for 24 hours afterwards. Mine was done with sedation. It's probably worth checking of you're unsure.

Thanks Charlie - did you feel unwell straight away? It's just the bloating that's bad at the moment and I'm really hoping it'll go down!! Did you have to go to hospital? Do you have any tips? xx

I was in agony right after my egg collection. The day after egg collection I gained 6lb and was told to go to a&e, they done some tests that shown ohss, they asked if I would like to be kept in but I wanted to get home. The next day I gained a further 6lbs and my skin on my stomach was so stretched I couldn't even take deep breaths without feeling like my skin would rip. Very very painful and felt so sick with it. I had a scan that day that shown my ovaries were huge and full of fluid and it had leaked into my abdomen. Lucky enough it didn't get as far as lungs. They cancelled my treatment that day. I was given codeine and told to drink plenty of fluids. I was signed off work for nearly 20 days until after my period came and the swollen belly went down. It's not pleasant at all, but yeah it hit me almost immediately. The weight gain is a big warning sign xx

Was going to mention charlie as a success story following OHSS. Hopefully your cycle won't be cancelled but it's good to know it can all work out in the end. Fx for the next few days xx

How are you doing charlie? xxx

I was glad to get the frozen transfer in the end, was nice to do it drug free too after feeling like I'd been pumped with drugs for last 18 months!

I'm doing really good thanks, I'll be 11 weeks on Tuesday but still taking each day as it comes.

How's it going for you? You got any symptoms? Everything crossed tightly for you xx

Oh goodness indeed it's a distraction lol I bet knicker watch is the hardest knowing that you've had the transfer and keeping them warm x

Thanks Hon yeah they have put a little sheet in my book but I hadn't written it wrong lol! I've got crinone I think they r similar and they are pessaries for twice a day Ek! But like you say you want them carry on for all the right reasons. :) xxx

Its ridiculously expensive, one pre-filled gonal F was £288 and we needed 6 of them :faint:along with all the other stuff!!
I have been thinking about my OH too with the pressure on the day. I haven't said anything about it at all, I am thinking its best just to stay really relaxed about the subject, I know he will feel stressed otherwise xx

Thanks I will look into it. I am going to have to look through my booklet again cos I want to check when I need to start progesterone too. I am used to them as been using them for a few months before IVF. I was horrified when they said to insert them rectally  :bum:(had to do that icon lol). Lets hope we're all using them for a good few weeks yet xx

My goodness, this sounds awful. So glad it all worked out but what an awful time you had of it xx

Day 8 of stimming for me and I'm really starting to feel it! Ovaries feel like they're in overload and yesterday at my scan I had a lot of follicles on each side. The biggest being 14mm. Because of my pcos they're concerned I'm going to overstimulate and knowing our luck I wouldn't be surprised!

Random question from me - does anyone else have/had really sensitive nipples during stimming?! xx

Omg you know I said nope to the nipple question ! Well omg today that's changed ! Crazy sensitive nipples lol ! X

It started off as bloating with some discomfort, e.g. I had to roll my tights down to my hips at work, but then the bloating continued & I put on over 3kg (half a stone) in a few days, looked about 5 months pregnant, and could barely walk.

Wow that sounds like a really rough time ! Do they give you meds for it to resolve or just let it sort itself out ? X

The worst part was over a weekend and during that time I couldn't get hold of anybody medical at the centre. However the only thing I think they could have done was drain the excess fluid but I wouldn't have wanted that at this stage, so left it to resolve itself.

My colleague had OHSS but she was ok for the transfer and now has twins so it might be ok. I had sedation for egg collection, apparently you can sometimes hear voices but won't wake up. I'm sure I heard someone say 20 eggs and asked them when I woke up but it was 19! On trigger day I just had Buserelin, no stims, I'd probably had enough by then! I didn't mention DH's contribution to him but we had to fill out a survey afterwards and he put that the magazines/DVDs in the room were good, haha! He doesn't usually use porn so IVF is almost like a treat for him, haha!
Loved the bum icon, its weird doing the cyclogest rectally but much less messy, I'd recommend it!

Lol at the survey ;) I think its the right thing not to mention it, my OH feels the pressure as it when ttc naturally. I totally agree about the cyclogest being less messy rectally, not the nicest of things but no mess at all xx

thanks so much girls, So I'm back :) all went well, they gave me heavy sedation and I didn't know a thing
I'm a bit uncomfortable, like bad period pain but it's bearable and I have painkillers & hot water bottle. they collected 11 so now it's the waiting game xxx

11 eggs is fantastic! I found it took about 3 days to get over collection, make sure you take it easy. Fx for lots of fertilisation tonight! xx

Thank you Hon :) yeah I'm pretty uncomfortable tonight didn't realise it would take it out of me, hubby has set me up on sofa with duvet bless x
Fingers crossed for testing tomorrow lovely x

11 eggs is great Sarah. Keeping my fingers crossed that they all do well.

Good luck for tomorrow Browneyedgirl.

Xx.

11 is fantastic, so pleased for you. Glad your hubby is looking after you, do you have a few days booked off work? xx
