February 2016 Mamas!!

Ruby- floradix is sutible for expectant and breastfeeding mothers. You can take it with your pre natal vitamins too, but if your iron levels are ok you may want to stop them while taking the floradix. Just remember plenty of orange juive as it helps absorb the iron!

My community mw gave me real earache about opting out of the flu jab. It was the mw at the antenatal clinic that said to me whatever I choose is my choice etc. my mw made me feel aweful a few times. X

Morning all,

I feel slightly better today - work is a real mental struggle right now so keep going but I'm slowly counting off the days.

I've had the whooping cough vaccine - it can be a really nasty thing for newborns to get - my arm felt bruised for a couple of days after but otherwise it's been fine.

Had it with my first pregnancy too.

Thanks Elle, I'm vegetarian too and have had low iron before, so I really thought the doctor would just give me iron tablets! But he was worried about constipation/stomach pains etc, so he said see how it goes and if I don't feel any better to go back and see him. I asked the pharmacist in Boots about Floradix and she recommended Spatone - imagine its the same sort of thing. Do you actually find it helps?

Had my whooping cough vaccine on Saturday, didn't have a great experience as I bled everywhere! The nurse must have caught a blood vessel or something. I now have a great big lump and huge bruise on my arm! But other than that it was fine and well worth having in my opinion.

I'm def giving floridax a try then- anything to get more energy!

Weird experience when I was reading in bed last night- I must have been accidentally squashing my boob with the way I was lying and it started leaking! Omg!!! I'm sure this is totally normal but it's my first baby and it was a bit of a shock!!!

Ps. Lucky, poor you with that whooping cough vaccine- that sounds horrible!

Lucky- have you got a health shop near you. That's where I go
For advice. It's a little family run shop and they are so knowledgable. I've never heard of that but swear by floradix. It's always given me a boost and used it before and throughout my pregnancy.

Haha Ruby- that has happened to me too. I couldn't work out why my arm was wet!! Started happening to me really early on. The strangest thing was when my boob leaked after heading a newborn baby cry!! Our bodies are amazing and freaky!!

I'm so jealous you guys are leaking - I didn't last time and haven't this time either - swear my boobs are defective

It freaked me out- so funny! Aww Pumpkin your boobs def aren't defective, don't worry! I wouldn't have even noticed if I hadn't been lying the way I was as it wasn't very much and was just clear liquid. Although I've been thinking about it all day- kept checking to make sure they weren't leaking loads all of a sudden as I stupidly wore a white top to work and don't have any breast pads yet. Elle I've heard of that baby crying thing- you're right, our bodies are just beyond clever!

I finally assembled the Moses basket yesterday- it's so cute!!! Can't believe I will have a little baby sleeping in it soon!

Hey!

Aww I don't have leaky booby, but it sounds like fun! Getting it after hearing a baby cry is brood to the new level! So cute :)

So I was contacted by the doctors today in regards to my gestational diabetes blood test asking me to come in and speak with a doctor. The thing is, I accidentally ate one of my choccys from my advent calendar before my blood test (to check my sugar levels, what an idiot!) so I was convinced it would be regarding that. But it was my iron, says I'm anemic, it's 8.7! Got to have another blood test tomorrow and get straight on the pills (3 a day). I mean, I have shortness of breath and I'm quite tired but I thought that was just pregnancy.. apparently not.

Went to pregnancy yoga last night and loved it! :) has anyone else been doing yoga?

Oops! That's was a rookie error lol!
Good luck with the tablets. I've cut myself down to 2 a day due to bad effects from them. Hopefully you'll be fine tho.

I really wanted to do yoga but there are no classes around here.

I fell over today :( I'm sure baby is fine as didn't hot my tummy at all and rolled into my side. Just can't help worrying tho. My pride was very damaged sitting in that puddle!

Aw poor you Elle :( I'm sure baby is fine, they're very well protected and to be honest it's us that gets all the crap, whilst they're just happily sleeping in a warm cosy belly. Wouldn't want it any other way though, of course!

Oh really? Doc did warn me about constipation, then said I can have some laxatives to help. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Shame there's no yoga class near you, I'm in Brighton so it's full of stuff like that.

I felt like a right twat! I'm front of my boss, after he took me for afternoon tea due to me finishing work tomo! I had to try my best not to cry and brush myself down quickly after he picked me up!! Then stayed in wet leggings for the rest of the day!

Yeah it is a real shame. No yoga teachers would take me on as a beginner being pregnant. Really wanted to learn some breathing techniques to help me through labour

Did you breastfeed?

Yeah I did last time but my supply wasn't very good and by 12 weeks
I'd switched to formula as my little boys weight gain was minimal and he was really unsettled -'hopefully it'll be better this time

Elle I'm so sorry you fell over!! Glad bump is ok but I'd have probably burst into tears- hugs!
Molly the yoga sounds great- I'm doing a bit too but only based on some videos I've found online- I'd love to go to a class but I'm so rubbish and feel too self-conscious. Silly I know but there we are! I've been going to hypnobirthing classes and think a lot of principles are the same with breathing etc. I hope you continue to enjoy it!

I'm starting to feel the baby's hands and feet- it's like he's scrabbling around like a maniac sometimes!

I've been setting up the baby room today- I need to get some shelves fitted and maybe I need to decorate the wall with some of those big nursery stickers- it's hard to know how to make the best of the space we have....

I don't know how I didn't Ruby!! I've def learnt from that one. I forget how different my body is now!

Ahhhh enjoy that. I loved doing her bedroom. Those stickers are good but the writing ones are very hard to apply, we have a quite on her wall and it almost started WW3! I did a tree and animals for my friend which came out great.

I finished work yesterday... Such a strange feeling

Has anyone else got really itchy nipple's, driving me crazy lol

Woooo to finishing work - I've still got 6 weeks to go, although I've agreed a 2 hour per day reduction in my hours starting from now

Yes to itchy nipples Dmjh!

I had to have another blood test last week after being told I was anemic, to check for b12 I believe. I've been told I need to discuss my results with the doctor tomorrow - a bit nervous :S
