Due in September

Sorry not quite sure how to use this! I’m 11 weeks today due on 6th September 2020, hoping for some advice. Have got a red rash on my face, neck, back and chest and it’s super itchy! The doctors prescribed steroid cream that I can’t use due to being pregnant and I’m not sure what else to do! It’s making me really anxious and not want to go out anywhere! Has anyone had this and got any suggestions?? I have read about potential folic acid allergy x

Hi Megan, congratulations on the pregnancy. I'm jealous of you being 3 weeks ahead of me, but sorry to hear about the rash. Could be a sensitivity to anything, even something you always use, as pregnancy hormones are odd. I would recommend speaking to a pharmacist. They will be able to tell you what you can use. If you don't get much joy there maybe a Drs appt. There might be something else you can use or a lighter steroid that would help and not be harmful?

I know if you're really itchy you're supposed to tell the midwives as it could be a sign of a liver (?) issue. But I think that's more to do with feet and hands and if there's no obvious reason. I think in your case it sounds like the rash, so please don't get stressed out about that.

I'm the meantime could you try chamomile lotion? Or isn't a bath in porridge oats supposed to help itching? I'm not sure. Sorry. I hope you get it sorted soon x

Thankyou so much for you reply!! Luckily my mums a midwife so I do always have someone around for advice however she’s just not sure about the rash and not seen it before! Been using moisturiser and was going to pop to a pharmacy and potentially the doctors tomorrow!! But advice from any one who’s had the same would be great! I have heard of the oats bath so may be worth giving that one a go! Yeah the liver one is usually super itchy hands and feet later on, hopefully it will get better once I’m out of the first trimester as it’s really bringing me down! Congratulations on your pregnancy !! Xx

My Hand had broken out. Its sore. I usually use hydrocortisone for it but I have also avoided using it just in case. But I will take myself to pharmacy tomoro to ask

What did ur doc think it was or what was is causing it?
Could u ask pharmacist if theres alternative to use?

the doctor was pretty useless and gave me a cream that was not allowed to be used! Going to try Chamomile lotion and oats hopefully it will help! The itching is just driving me insane. I’ve always had sensitive skin but not this bad I’m hoping that they may do some allergy testing x

Welcome @VictoriaNi & @Megan Evans <3
Nice to have some new mummies to join our group.

@Megan Evans - I am just wondering if it may be your skin care that is causing the rash? My usual face cream was making my skin flare up, i googled and found a new cream especially designed for mums to be and it seemed to have worked a treat. I also started getting red itchy blotches on my body when i was showering, i again changed my shower gel and it has stopped now.
I think our skin has gone very sensitive due to pregnancy.

xx

@chattychar1990 Thankyou for a lovely welcome! I never really use skin care products as my skin is usually so clear and I never had this before! I’ll try switching a few things and see if it helps such as shower gel! What cream is it that you use? I’ll try that too xxx

I hope you get to the bottom of what the rash is hun, maybe it is just an unusual symptom in the 1st trimester.
Have you got your 12 week scan to look forward too? If so when is it?
This is the set i bought, tbh i havent used the eye cream but i use the cleanser most days and the face cream every day. It is a little pricey but it has really helped my skin.

Welcome to the new mummies!

I’m 10+2 today and seem to be having some new symptoms - indigestion/heartburn and palpitations occasionally. Starting feeling nausea again a bit more than I was last week. So desperate to reach the 12 week mark now! How is everyone else feeling?

Felt like I was having first bit of heartburn recently too Rose. :x

I'm still feeling pretty good at the moment. Countdown to the scan. I've to work tomoro then the Wednesday is the big day.. omg I cant wait to get a definite due date.
Had a little listen yesterday make sure baby was still doing ok to settle my nerves. Thankfully heard it. Like a choo-choo train.. lol. Can any one mind if they say train a boy and horse a girl? Off too look:)

train is for boy :blue:
Galloping horse girl:pink:

Heartbeat sounds like a boy. Time will tell staying yellow though.

Wow @TTC no2, 12 weeks scans starting this week! How exciting :)

I’m still feeling sick most of the day @Rose83 but not quite as bad (which is worrying me...) Thought I was going to throw up giving a presentation today! Never had heartburn in previously pregnancy, hope that’s one symptom I avoid!

Does anyone else have a scans this week? I’m 8 weeks tomorrow so still some way to go for me!

Oh I’ve always had heartburn with them all. They say it produces babies with lots of hair and for me that was entirely right! I was known as the woman with the hairy baby when I had my daughter :rotfl: I’ll try to post a photo of her at 3 days old

My little girl had loads off hair too. She took it after me.. lol this is pic off her hair.

Aww yeah! My boys were really similar, it was a little bit shorter than my daughters. Also my daughter never lost any of hers, none dropped out, and at 5 now has hair down to her bum as she won’t let me cut it. But the boys both lost all of theirs by around 6 months but it all grew back in again quickly. I was also born with plenty of dark hair.
It seems like so far away that we’ll get to meet these little ones but I know that we’ve already got a quarter of the way there so it will be here before we know it!

My little guy didnt have much. And he had ginger tone to his hair. After his sister being so dark I couldn't believe it. My OH has a few red heads on his side. Hes a little blonde babe now..
I cant believe we are going to have a baby again. Still seems abit surreal. Not looking forward to school runs mixed with night feeds. Had it lucky with didnt have that when my son was baby. My daughter went to pre school in the afternoon session

@JennyS85 I'm 11 weeks and few days give or take but knew they would be sending for me bit earlier before 12 week mark as they are going off my lmp. But I have long cycles so will be 12 weeks at the weekend :D

Hey ladies, I'm in hospital on a drip again today :( this pregnancy is kicking my butt. I also have horrible heartburn to go along side the nausea and vomiting. Normally the heartburn for me starts when the sickness stops.

Looking forward to your scan ttcno2. I'm 8 weeks tomorrow I think ages away for mine x

Oh no @kanga86. I hope ur on the mend soon. Take the rest while u can.
You are having a tough time off it x
