Due in September

Oh Kanga that’s awful. My sister in law (and her sister) suffers with HG, in her second pregnancy she was hospitalised 4 times and lost two stone it was pretty terrifying really so hopefully you’ll manage to control it. How’s things with your husband?

my current food obsession is Greggs roast chicken mayo baguette. I had one on Sunday and immediately wanted a second and my husband wouldn’t let me :-( he just can’t understand how I can still be hungry, so now all I can think about is having another one :rotfl:

can’t remember if I’ve mentioned that we are about 99% sure we have some kind of dead animal (a mouse probably) stuck somewhere in our dining room wall. We only located the position yesterday and can’t find anything under the floor so think it just be in the walls. The smell is horrendous and of course with pregnancy nose it’s diabolical. Getting some stuff delivered on wednesday that is supposed to absorb the smell because apparently there isn’t anything we can do if it’s in the walls as we’ll never get to it without doing huge damage

Hope you get better soon @kanga86.
@Rose83 - now i fancy everything from Greggs haha!

Ladies question: I am 11 weeks this week and i landed on Tommee Tippee website and they are doing bundle deals at the minute for a really good price and i have also found a voucher code for an extra 20% off but the deal runs out on the 21st Feb. My 12 week scan isn't until the 25th Feb. Should i chance it and buy it while i can get a bundle for a good price or would you wait?
There is such a big speculation about waiting for that 12 week scan and my mum is REALLY superstitious so she is telling me to wait but i don't think i can let this deal go haha! xx

Go ahead if it's a good deal. U will be kicking urself if u didnt get it. My mum is superstitions like that too. But the way I see it is buying something is not going to change how baby is doing inside the womb.

I've been watching videos this morning of people telling families they are pregnant. Some of their reactions have me in stitches.
Gave me a idea when we have all the family together for my daughters communion. I have a photographer coming and I might get her to shout out I'm pregnant and get everyone's reactions on camera. Il be 20 weeks by then fingere crossed.

Char, oooh tricky one. While I would want to buy the stuff I would try and wait. There's always offers on this stuff rolling through, and while it might take a few months I'm sure a similar deal will come up. I think before 12w I'd be a bit too anxious. I don't think getting stuff early will make anything go wrong, but if something were to go wrong I think having the stuff will make it that much harder. Hopefully that makes sense?

Sat at home on my own (bliss) waiting to go for my flu jab. The sitting is making me feel nauseous. Hoping once I get up and moving again I'll feel better.

I hope the stuff helps Rose. I'm thinking about the mouse smell now
And trying to not think about Greggs. I've not really found anything that I HAVE to have yet. Although I popped to tescos after nursery and got some choc chip shortbread, so yum

Hey ladies, unfortunately I’m suffering pretty horrendously again this time around, had hyperemesis with all 3 of my boys and suffering this time too. I was admitted to hospital yesterday for iv fluids and iv anti sickness meds, after not keeping anything down for nearly 48 hours. I’ve also been given 2 different anti sickness meds to take alternately throughout the day and fingers crossed I’m doing better today.

Feel like I’m so far behind everyone as I’m 6+6wks, although I do have my booking in appt 3rd March when I will be 10 weeks. So excited for everyone else’s scans coming up.

How are u today @kanga86

That must be so hard to deal with especially having ur 3 little guys too. How long did it go for with ur last pregnancies?

@TTC no2 & @AmyThomas - you have both gave me complete different answers :rotfl:
I am so stuck with what to do, and i know there will always be deals on but this one just seems too good to miss. Maybe i will speak to the OH tonight and he can make final decision.
@TTC no2 - that would be amazing announcing it that way. I have a little cousin who is 11 and i am really close to her and its her birthday on the 27th Feb. I have ordered one of those scratch card birthday cards and when she scratches it, it will say 'you are going to be a BIG cousin'
I can't wait to see her little face <3
How will you guys be announcing it on social media?
@Rose83 - Hope flu jab goes ok, should we all have that in pregnancy?

xx

Lol I see that. Little things like that are ok. I wouldn't buy anything big at this stage. I think I left it after 20 weeks.

Ahh that is so cute. She will love that. I think I will tell my kids before the extended family. We will do something ourselves for them.
I don't think I'm going to announce it on fb not unless my OH does.

Morning ladies, not doing great again this morning. Already been sick and dry retching, yesterday was obviously left over relief from the iv meds I had at the hospital. I’ve phoned in sick, and requested a sick note from the doctors through the online service so hopefully they will write one up for me. It is tough being like this and having 3 to look after definitely, but it will all be worth it. With all the boys it didn’t really completely ease up til 19-20weeks but things were much better from 13-14weeks, so a fair few more weeks yet. But if I don’t have work to worry about then it will make it easier to look after the boys, and fingers crossed stay out of hospital.

Rose that sounds awful having a dead mouse in your walls, I can only imagine the smell! Hope the stuff works to get rid of the smell.

TTCno2 I love watching the pregnancy announcement videos they are so funny, love the reactions they get.

Chattychar i think all pregnant ladies get offered the flu jab, I can’t remember but have you seen your midwife yet? She will let you know about booking one up. As for the tommee tippee stuff it’s a hard one, but if it really is a good deal I would go for it. I would kick myself if another deal didn’t come up and I didn’t get it, for the sake of a few days before your 12 week scan.

I can’t wait to let my boys know, it is so hard not saying anything to them. If I keep feeling sick they may get worried so may have to figure out a way to let them know and not be worried about me. Although they would then blab about it to everyone lol

Char, wasn’t me getting the jab but I was told I’d be given it at my 12 week scan as apparently the GP won’t give it to pregnant women any more even though all pregnant women are supposed to have it. I don’t understand how GPs can suddenly decide they won’t offer a particular service!

tough one on the tommee tippee, id probably just go for it.

kanga - is your husband coping any better? Is he at least being sympathetic about the HG?

Mouse stench update - so far no change, odour bag thing arrived this morning so was hopeful but not looking promising yet.
Greggs update - still need one and still stuck in the Jodie with the three kids because weather is awful and roads are slippy with snow.

Haha Rose I was very unsure what a Jodie was! Sucks the smell hasn't gone!

Unfortunately hubby is still on the not wanting it camp but we were at least talking about normal things last night rather than being ignored. He definitely not sympathetic to the HG and hasn't been in any of the pregnancies. I make myself feel worse because I think I will be sick. I need to power through it and go to work, so the fact I've signed myself off might not go well later. But i need to do what is best for me and the boys and pushing myself too hard will only hurt us all. Just taking it all a day at a time at the mo.

Sounds really tricky kanga. Sorry you're feeling so rubbish as well as having a difficult time with your hubby.

Rose, it seems odd that you can't get the flu jab at the drs. Esp when the NHS website recommend pregnant women have it. I wasn't too fussed, but then it says that flu can be really dangerous in pregnancy, esp at the beginning. Seems strange that if that's the case they make you wait til 12 weeks, esp in flu season.

I've had a bit of a rubbish day. Felt really nauseous all day. I feel hungry, but the thought of most foods makes me feel sick, but not eating makes me nauseous. Urgh. Been freezing all day as well. Anyone else feeling really cold lately? Came home to some good news though, got my scan through for 19th March. Ages away, but very excited to have a date. Hopefully if all's ok we can let family and friends know that weekend.

Not sure if we'll do a FB announcement. Part of me doesn't want to, but I'll see what hubby says. He's military and we don't get to see a lot of his mates much, so it could be an easy way to let everyone know. I'll have to have a think

I know dopplers are touchy subject but I have one from previous. (I know not go rely on these later stages and to ring mw with any concerns) but I had a little listen cos well they cant do anything at this stage and I found the heartbeat. Took ages and coming on the digital at 165bpm. <3

Amy the nausea is the worst, worse that being sick I think as I generally feel a bit of relief after being sick. Eating is so hard and so is drinking but I have to try so hard to make sure I stay out of hospital again. I am also freezing as well, like huddled under a huge blanket and the electric fire on and I’m still shivering. How was work?

TTCno2 how lovely you found baby’s heartbeat, I have a doppler too and can’t wait to have a go at listening in to baby. How many weeks are you now? I never trust it later on either always go to my midwife, went over 8 times in my last pregnancy and ended up induced due to reduce movements and measuring below the 5th centile. He was perfectly fine just small.

I'm roughly 10+3 going by earlier scan but I do suspect I might be put back a day next week at dating scan

Sorry thread hopping. I have been humung and hawing about getting one not for end if pregnancy or to reassure but just desperate for my OH to feel involved more and he could hear the heartbeat. What one did you buy? So happy you heard just a lovely feeling. Xxx

I had angel sounds before and it was great only the one I had didnt have the heart rate showing.
I went on Ebay and got one off the ana wiz ones and it does the job came with big enough tube of gel. ( but I have moisturiser works well too)
OH hasn't heard it yet but once I get kids to bed I cant for him to hear.

Thank you. That's brilliant you heard oh early to bed kids haha then you can both sit down and enioy. I was looking at that one. I would never use it to make sure all okay and I know alot against it but would just like it more for fun.

Thank you, I will look online. I know most are against it but as I just wanted it for OH to feel bit more included... He would like it he says. I would never use for worry if baby was okay. Xxx
