***December babies! Tri 2 :) ***

Hi Ser and Sunshinekim! Hope you're both ok :)

Hi ladies! And congratulations, ive added you all to the list, please let me know the gender if/when you find out :) xx

Hi ladies,

How is everyone? I had my 16 week appointment (early as we're going on holiday) and met my consultant. She was so so lovely! I'll be getting growth scans at 28 and 34 weeks and looking at a sweep around 38 weeks with induction on my due date or thereabouts if I haven't went myself. She asked if I wanted her to find the heartbeat although she explained she's usually reluctant early on. I told her I had a home Doppler and although it's not recommended, it's been providing me with much needed reassurance. She said if it's giving me the support I need then she's all for it! I can see my community midwife a couple of times to avoid travelling to the hospital each time (and avoid their waiting times!!) so I'm pleased as the midwife is a 5 minute drive for me!

We're going on holiday next Sunday, just a cheap and cheerful week but I'm so looking forward to it. We still haven't announced the pregnancy so think we might while we're there! My HG is definitely easing, I'm only vomiting 2/3 times a day now which is lovely. 2 night shifts at work and I'm on annual leave for almost 3 weeks!

Hope everyone is doing okay. Helen I'm always thinking of you! Xxx

I had my 16 week appointment yesterday too. Everything went well, i told the midwife i want a water birth and she said thats fine, but you cant get pain relief for at least an hour before hopping in the pool(i knew you couldnt have a waterbirth with an epidural but didnt realise no other pain relief either) so now not 100% sure.
My hg is improving slightly as well. It's gone from a 2/10 healthwise to about a 4/10. I'm having some good days where I am well enough to go to the toilet without vomiting and I actually bathed myself, instead of having my partner do it. HG just reduced me to a useless, smelly vomiting mess. I started writing everything down to help me remember how awful it is if i ever get clucky in the future. Today it's been 76 days since i was well enough to go to work and 47 days straight of being in bed except for using the toilet/washing or when i have been in hospital.I'm on 4 types of medication total of 12 different tablets a day and it only seems to be effective if i just stay still in bed all the time. The effort of getting up to go to the appointment set me back and i spent the whole time in the waiting room and the appointment yesterday throwing up. I didn't count but probably threw up about 20 times while i was there, and i was so unsettled and exhausted from getting up and going out that the vomiting didn't stop until 2am last night and i had a bad morning too, but have started to settle. The midwife told me she would do appointments at my house from now on. She was a lovely lady and very compassionate towards my struggles. Hearing the heartbeat was lovely! It made me and my partner cry, my sweet little baby is healthy and growing despite all my struggles!

You've definitely had it horrendous skyeway. I really hope you start to get some proper relief soon and be able to enjoy pregnancy! I've found it so difficult with already having a child too, there was times my son would come and tell me he's hungry and I'd want to curl in a ball and die at the thought of having to try and get up to feed up. I really don't think I could ever risk this again! I'm so glad you got to hear the heartbeat though, makes it all worthwhile xxx

I hideously sick again but not like before. For the last week or so I've been getting stomach pains after I eat that last anywhere from a few mins to hours. Yesterday I ate some crisps and instantly got intense stomach pains and vomited a lot (tmi but it was proper sick and I've not been able to be sick since my surgery) pain went and I had some tea which was just mince and gravy and the pain came back instantly and stayed all night, every time I drank it intensified. Went to the dr and he said it's acid that is causing irritation and gave me antiacids and more antisickness. From about 1pm I haven't even been able to keep water down, just a sip comes straight back up. Called maternity but they're not interested because I'm to early, spoke to the GP again and he's giving me different antisickness pills but said if it's not stoped in 6hours I have to go to a&e. I'm still in pain with my tummy, I'm hungry but I can't eat, I'm thirsty but I can't drink, I'm tired but I can't sleep.

You ladies with severe morning sickness/hg - I bow down to you! I don't know how you cope. I have a lot of health problems that would be made so much worse with vomiting so I'm incredibly pleased not to have done so. I really hope it improves more for you both.

I'm still worried about my baby but under the circumstances I won't whinge about that on this thread X

Just plodding on! Sciatica and SPD not good. No movement I can feel yet, eagerly awaiting scan a week on Monday. At least it's a 19 week one. It could be a lot later! How are you? X

My abdominal pains and sickness have gone but I've eaten nothing but toast since Tuesday, I moved my gender scan to Sunday just to check everything is ok more than anything I'll be 16 weeks exactly so don't no how much they'll see. X

I haven't been on here for a while. 1sttimer, I am so so sorry to hear your news. I can't imagine the pain. Take care. Xx

It's been a very long week at work. I'm totally exhausted and very glad it's the weekend. Gender scan is 8 days away. My class and parents are all aware I'm pregnant now, so lots of congratulations and one of my girls concerned that I was doing playground duty on the football area (I just hide in the corner)

Hope your scan goes well Nicki x

Aww that's cute of the girl joeyclare. You can't have much longer to go until the summer holidays! I know a few teachers and they are always shattered towards the end of term so you must be really struggling

I'm 16 weeks now and I'm still throwing up, had a cry about it this morning as I really hoped it would be over by now but at least I'm usually feeling ok throughout the afternoon so there's an improvement and I'm keeping everything crossed that the nausea will ease off completely soon.

We aren't planning on finding out the sex so the next scan still feels a long way off. I hope yours goes well Nicki and that everyone else is feeling better

Are gender scans more accurate in some way or is it because you just want one and want to know? We're finding out I think or maybe not haha - still can't decide!!! but at the anomaly scan. I'm desperate to know all is ok but I might as well wait a week and a bit now. Can't remember it feeling as long as this last time! X

I feel for you ladies still feeling like crap. I was night shift last night and vomited 6 times before I even left for work, plus the headache I had was just vile. I'm on annual leave for just under 3 weeks now and I'm praying when I go back I feel better. I'll be 18 weeks so I bloody better have some energy!

We won't be finding out the sex, I'm getting extra growth scans too at 28 and 34 weeks so not finding out will be so hard. My 20 week scan is the 10th of August, still feels forever away! Good luck for gender scan ladies. Can't believe we're at the stage of finding out the sex!

With my son we had 1 scan at 13 weeks and that was it, normal protocol then. This time I'll get a total of 7 scans and I'm struggling to cope waiting in between times  xx

Vic my hospital very rarely tell you what the sex is, so if you want to know you tend to have to go private. We've only booked it early to check everything is ok really especially after the pains I've had. After the 20 week scan we'll probably have a private 4d scan but that'll be it. I might need growth scans again but no one has mentioned it yet. When I can feel the baby moving I'll feel better I think.
Hoping you ladies feel better soon, I'm feeling a bit worse this evening but I ate food (not toast) for the first time so I think I might be going back to toast for a few more days!

What a shame you guys are still feeling rough, really hoping it eases up soon for you!

We got back yesterday from the USA and I've basically been sleeping all day, it's great haha.

I'm going to book a private gender scan too, did so with DS only because I'm impatient and wanted a private and then the 20wk scan to confirm. I was trying to keep this one a surprise but I feel like I need to know so that I can decide what I'm doing with DS room and clothes etc x

Ahh I see. I forget some hospitals don't do that. I really don't feel pregnant at the moment still. Can't wait for scan. I'm really not sleeping well and spend most of the night awake itching!

What are you all up to this weekend? I'm making wedding cupcakes today! X

For me it's double confirmation! If the private gender scan and the NHS scan both have the same result for gender, I'll feel reasonably confident they got it right. I know of a lady who was told she was having a girl at 20 weeks, didn't but anything new as they already had a girl and planned to reuse all her stuff. She had another scan at about 32-33 weeks I think to check her placenta had moved from her cervix and they told the sonographer that they knew it was a girl- the sonographer then showed them between baby's legs and said she was pretty certain it was a boy!! She was right.

Hi girls, hope everyone's ok!
Been checking in daily but haven't had a chance to post! Xxx
