December babies 2016 **last babies of the year**

Now back up in the ward from recovery and Luca is in neo-natal....

He safely arrived at 4.55pm, weighing 3lb 12oz but is doing very well.

It was a very quick labour and I just got down to delivery in time....

More details later when I'm more awake and less sore, as I had no pain relief.

So pleased that it went quickly and he is now safely here.

Wow he's here I'm so pleased he's doing well congratulations to you and your little family can't believe how fast labour was only ten mins befor you put your waters had gone and then he was here. xx

We are both doing Ok thanks.

We're just back from spending the morning with our little man.

He simply looks gorgeous and exactly like Eddie, only smaller. We think he'll have dark hair like my husband.
He's only on a minimal amount of oxygen, which is good considering he came just after 32 weeks and pleased he is being well looked after.

They are giving him formula for now until my milk is through, which I hope is soon. I'll be expressing at first, then breastfeeding.

I never knew you could have so much love for a small person!!

I'll put a photo up when I'm back home (no idea when that will be) as I don't have anywhere here.

ikklemoi: even though he came after 10 minutes, I think I started labour the week before as that's when I first felt proper contractions and he began to move down.

I'm glad he got the extra week inside you! Sounds like he is doing great! He must be adorable and really small! I hope you get to take him home before too long.

One thing I forgot is how sore your breasts are when milk starts to come...

They feel really heavy and sore, so hope this is my supply starting up.

I've been told that I'm not being discharged until Luca has had his first feed. I don't mind as I'm not wanting to spend a second away from him just now.

My husband has now gone home to finally get some sleep and said he would bring Eddie in tomorrow to visit his new brother.

So I am now going to try and catch up on sleep too before going back to Luca.

Hi all, been ages since I caught up and I can't believe the first December baby has arrived! Congratulations sophia! Hope little Luca is doing well.
I'm plodding along, hoping to go on maternity leave in a couple of weeks, moved it forward as I'm just knackered and starting to get very little sleep due to leg cramps. Had that in my previous pregnancy and was barely sleeping more than an hour a nightfor the last month s0 hhoping it doesn't end up that bad again as I was at my wits end and a total wreck by the time Leo was born! So much harder with a toddler now too as if I doze off around now I know he'll be up in an hour or two! Hey ho... all fun and games eh?! Xx

Deffo harder with a toddler I'm exhausted and almost wishing I could go back to work for a break, in saying that him getting up a few times at night is probably helping to prepare us again for nigh feeds

I found magnesium suppliments stopped the cramps for me. Might be worth a try.

I've not had any leg cramps this time but was tortured when I was pregnant with my son

Luca is now off oxygen and able to breathe on his own..

He's being brought up to the ward this afternoon to meet Eddie and Daddy. I've not told my husband as I want it to be a surprise!!

I'm jealous.. can't wait to have this baby now. I'm so fat and uncomfy haha

I'm only 34 weeks but I feel huge. I'm bigger than I was with my daughter full term.
