December babies 2016 **last babies of the year**

Good luck. Hope you and baby Luca are okay. Xx

Good luck Sophia your deffo in the best place where they can take good cAre of you both, hope you and baby are ok xx

I hope they can slow things down for you a bit longer sophia. As others have said you are in the right place and being looked after. And although premature labour is never ideal you have gotten to the point that baby is already at a good point.

It isn't that unusual to be at 1cm before labour starts, some women are even as much as 3cm for several weeks before labour but obviously your regular contractions show something more is up.

Drip has worked as contractions easing a bit.

Being kept in overnight and hope to get home tomorrow, after second steroid injection and if contractions ease off completely.

Well so much for thinking I'd be getting home today!

I'm being kept in for a few more days as they want to keep a close check on the contractions, so back on the monitor I go, as well as another drip.

Plus I'll be getting a scan to determine his position and getting a CTG, to see if he is in any distress (its not him that's showing signs of distress, but me!!!) It depends on the results whether I'll be getting a section or not.

Oh and not forgetting the next lovely steroid injection!!

And Eddie is going to come in later hopefully later to visit, as we left him with a neighbour in our hurry to get here.

Just hope Luca stays put for a few more weeks at least.

Still at 1cm which is good.

Bless you hun hopefully you can get home at some point, but yours and babies health is the most important thing.

I've got consultant appointment on Wednesday to discuss mode of delivery - its all getting very very close now.
Also has anyone had an adverse reaction to Omeprazole? I was finally given it after a week of painful indigestion but my god the diarreaoh i got from it was horrific I've never experienced anything like it in my life. I can feel the indigestion brewing again but I'm petrified to take the tablet but I know it will get rid of the pain I don't know whether to give it another go?!

Hi Sophia hope all is still going as well as can be. It's scary when things started getting away from your plan. Your in the right place to get any extra help if needed, so stay positive. I read that you can be dilated by 1-2cm weeks before baby arrives, but obviously if your having contractions too they'll be keeping a keen eye on you. Hopefully all will be fine - sending lots of hugs

Monitored showed that I'm now regulary contracting but not as bad, so back on second drip to slow them down.

The scan showed he is very low, pressing on my cervix, but he is fine. The midwife could actually rest her hand on the top of his head! She said the longer he is in there, is 2 days less in the neo-natal unit.

Just waiting for my next steroid injection and then Eddie to come in.

No word yet as to when I'll be getting home. It just feels as if I'll be in here until I give birth.

They also don't think I will need a section, but I might need to get induced if I'm still contracting and making no progress from 1cm. My cervix is very slightly open.

How many weeks are you now ? I think end of 36 weeks is classed as fully term, I'm assuming that if your on steroids your less then 36 weeks ? And the steroids are to help baby's lungs in case he does decide to pop out. Hopefully he can e convinced to stay there a little longer- it'll Deffo be better for him to fatten up a bit
More etc :).

At least contractions are getting less full on, could be a good sign of things goin into pause mode or a little bit :)

Aries, I'm 32+1 today.

Eddie was fast asleep when he visited but I managed to have a quick cuddle which made me feel better.

Glad things are slowing down for you Sophia. Good luck and I hope your home to Eddie soon.

Ladies.. can you tell me if this is normal please.

For the last few days I've been getting shooting pains between my legs when I walk. And I feel slightly bruised down there. I can feel baby around my pubic bone so I know she's low. But since last night the shooting pains have been more intense and I can feel pressure on both my bladder and bowel. And sudden needs for both/going regularly.

I've just walked (about 10 mins away) to see some fireworks and started getting lower back pain and period pains.
Is this just baby getting lower/engaging?

My daughter never did engage so I don't really know what to expect. 34 weeks tomorrow.
I'm seeing the midwife Friday. Just to add pains have stopped now. It was just when I was walking. Xx

Hey SIB I get this and midwife said it's SPD and ligaments stretching the bones grind together or something a think she said it is painful. They can offer you a support band for the belly to help with extra weight of bump, midwife said to me tho I'd prob have baby before even getting one tho. Awww Sophia I hope they completely stop the contractions for now glasd you haven't dilated any further hope you and baby are keeping well xx

urggghhhh I have grinding too. when I wake in the morning especially.
I cant feel baby low but I have fanny daggers constantly (never had these with my son) and lower back pain and period type pains on and off all day. This has been going on for the last couple of weeks now.

They do say after baby no1 you engage earlier, who knows! I even had a BH with pain today for the first time. I know nothing much is going on though not sure how I know but I just know!

We could be dilated for weeks before birth apparently according to things I've read online. This baby as always been low with movements etc never had kicks in ribs or anything, I feel pain around my section scar I'm so surprised how strong the sac there In is tbh with all the hard movements little man as been doing so far. Even tho this baby is my 5th little boy I'm still amazed that am actually growing another little person inside of me the love I have for him already is unreal, just nervous even more so now baby is due next month. 39 days is unreal. .

I've been very crampy and s lot of very low down pressure, now that time is drawing near I'm getting a little scared, more about making it to hospital in time for antibiotics for strep B
