I don't get a midwife appointment at 16 weeks. 4 weeks tomorrow until my scan. Seems like ages away but the weeks are going in quite fast.

Baby was beating me up last night, think he/she will be a kick boxer like their dad lol x

Hey ladies,
After a really shitty few weeks with hubby being in and out of hospital (which is still ongoing annoyingly) and my nana passing away this weekend, we finally have some good news. We have had an offer excepted on a new house. I currently live in north London which I LOVE but we needed a bigger place and can't afford around here so I'm moving to east London! Mile End to those who know London. I'm really scared about the move but it's a 3 bedroom house so we will have plenty of room. It's just not the nicest area... Oh well, I'm just very lucky to get the chance to have a bigger place so I'm very grateful. Now I just have to decide if I need to move hospitals...

My friend is 16.5 weeks PG and she had a bleed on Monday, went to hospital and they refused to scan her!!! They said they won't scan for bleeds until 17 weeks! WTF? She was so terrified that she went straight to a private scan place and got checked out. Luckily all is fine and she got to find out she is team pink. She tried to convince me to go get a private scan but it's £80 and I just can't justify it. Can't believe they wouldn't scan her at the hospital though!

Ah Lilac! Congratulations on the offer! Mile End is very up and coming and has some really lovely areas. Plus you're near all the trendy places like Shoreditch etc. Which hospital are you currently at again?
That's shocking about your friend!! Which hospital is she at? Crazy they wouldn't scan her!xxx

What a shame on your friend. I can't believe they wouldn't scan her. Glad that everything was fine though.

I've got my 16 week appointment tomorrow even though I'm actually 17 weeks. Doesn't sound like its going to be too exciting! Do you know why they took more blood Rose? I thought my midwife said I wouldn't get any blood taken tomorrow but I might be wrong?

I had blood taken because at my 12 week scan baby wouldn't stay still for the down's test so when that happens they do a blood test at your 16 week to tell you high or low risk. Also they wanted me to have a random glucose blood test becausey dad has diabetes and they'd done a fasting glucose test before but just wanted to check this too.

I feel really lucky with scans here, the private scan is only costing me £37. That's for a basic 2D scan. No point in doing 3D/4D til later they said and they use the 2D for gender scans generally they said x

Hi ladies, Lilac, irs shocking about your friend, which hospital was it? Here EPU covers you until 20 weeks for scans(C&W). I have been scanned 3 times for dating/pain and bleeding.
Good luck with the house. My DH is away next week so i am bracing myself for fun with 2 boys. But at the end of the week i have a gender scan and my 30th birthday party. A week and a bit to go! I can really feel the wriggle bum kicking now

Im 19 weeks today which only means one thing, baby is the size of a mango!!! Hubby felt it kick last night! Its the same stage in the pregnancy we felt her big sister kick. Another nutcase in the making.

Scan in 2.5hrs, eeeeek!

Has anybody experienced any swelling yet? I was like the Michelin man last time but not til right at the end (36 weeks ish), but I've woken up this morning & my fingers & hands have swelled didn't think you could get it this early!
