Closed - old IVF thread

If Im honest I dont know. Im a big bag of emotion but mainly just scared. Im scared that by this time tomorrow night that one of my only 5 chances of getting pregnant could be over! Its on my mind all the time. Im trying to stay hopeful but Im just not sure!

oh hun, not surprised your a bag of nerves. Wish you all the luck in the world, did you see the NHS advise I found on pee storage? haha what are we like!

Yeah I did! Thanks for that!! I know pee store tips what we like?? I used to use a plastic chinese take away dish but went up in the world when I was at my first Fertility Hospital and the had proper pee pots sitting at reception for you to take. It was like Xmas to me ( yes saddo) I took one each time I visited!!!!

Also Ive dropped mine before, its gross. Was trying to keep it all quiet from the hubby I was using the clearblue fertiliy monitor. He was like. What the heck when he smelt it? LOL!!!

Sorry you appointment didn't go too well JennyMarie, but actually great your clinic are saying it like it is, rather than glossing it up , IVF is far too much of a rollercoaster as it is, without that. Also great that you can get back on it before xmas , with the clinic having now a set plan of action, think the first cycle in many cases is more exploratory really in getting the programme that will work for you and tweeking things for round two. Ive heard good things about assisting hatching actually... With your low AMH, will they be able to up the stims dose any more or are you already on a high one. My stims was 225iu Menopur and I have AMH of 5.3 or 5.4 I think.

Laura , it is scary, but try to get some sleep tonight and tomorow will arrive in a flash to get it over with, and i'm wishing for some lovely news tomorow to brighten all our days X

Hiya ladies :)

JJ I'm so sorry about your news, how awful

I can't imagine how disappointed you are after all that money :(

Looking at your sig makes it look worse than it is though, your next cycle is number 2 :) You've had 1 cycle and 1 failed FET from that cycle.

I'm sure your second cycle will go much better for you, assuming you don't get caught when you rob that bank! ;)

I don't mean to be a poop, but do think carefully about the money thing. Heavy debt is a burden on everyone - you, your hubby and your children. Just think about it, ok. Sorry to talk to you like I'm your mum, but I worry :oooo:

I really hope you're ok. Here if you want to chat

Jenny, I'm sorry that the prognosis isn't that good for you :(

OMG Laura! It's here already! Good luck!

I know what you mean, but it feels like two cycles of disapointment and loss tho Lou, after the 3 bleeds gap, it still took another 6 and half weeks till today, with my practice month with opks to choose the type of cycle I could get away with.

Thanks for playing mum on the debt etc, yes I know , it's worrying me more and more.. we had got ourselve back on track from our youger days and then I do all of this.... I will be sensible Lou ,promise... (I'm just concious of now I will be over 40 when I have a baby and also the age gap is building up from Devon, the plan was a growing up buddy for him, so he will not in effect be an only child, were talking 3 years plus gap I think, any longer and it will defeat the point slightly.

I used to make cards, used to sell in a shop too, so I have loads and loads of stuff under bed and in a cupboard since devon has taken the space in my bedroom, don't want to sell it,but right now tbh, its just material stuff, I can go back to it another year, I'm going to look at selling it all on ebay etc to raise some funds...

I know it feels like that JJ, but you are assuming that people won't acknowledge how hard a FET is. I have no doubt that you are hurting just as much as after your first transfer failed  I'm just saying that technically it isn't an IVF cycle to have FET, with you recording it like that. I'm all for the details ;)

I grew up in a household that was in a lot of debt and it was the single most negative aspect of my childhood, so that is where I'm coming from. Its still causing a lot of issues for my parents now. I'm sure you'll be careful, just make sure your odds of success warrant it - and I'm not saying that because I think your odds are crap, I just mean for you to take it into consideration :)

That's a good idea about selling your craft stuff but if you don't my husband's family own several pharmacy's and I know my SIL used to sell cards from the stores so maybe if you made cards again I could find you some display space xx

Any news from Laura? Was she definitely testing today? Anyone heard from her? xx

Oh I see, now I understand the fridge labelling comment :)

Good luck Laura! Make sure you let it reach room temp before using or perhaps the reaction will be slower than expected... Although I suppose the control line will let you know xx
