Closed - old IVF thread

feeling a bit better now. I have 20 eggs ranging between 9mm and 13mm my puregon has increased to 225iu so im really hoping i hit the average of 2mm growth a day. so scan on friday should show some lovely big follies.
The hospital have admitted to my OH that they mistakenly gave me puregon dose of 100iu and it should have been 150iu so im playing catch up. (also found out that they made the same mistake with everyone in my cycle...tut..tut)

xx

Hi all – not having the best time with these injections! Was going well but today for some reason I struggled and they hurt bruising my tummy. Look all black and blue now! Getting headaches as well, but at least the nausea has subsided now. And still got lots more to go….what we have to put ourselves through; keeping positive that it’s all going to be worth it.

GreekGirl – how are you feeling for Thurs? Keeping fingers crossed for you. Glad it all went well with your Head. I felt such a relief when I told my boss what was going on, and I’m so fortunate she has been really understanding.

Lou – how is Belgium going so far? Hope it’s all going well.

Sorry injections are bruising u hun. Mine would go red and inflamed. Pin
Cushion feeling isn't it.

I'm very nervous about thurs. haven't been tempted to test early as I'm
So convinced its going to be negative as I have some ' period like cramping' today so really worried now. :( 2 more sleeps.

Sorry ur scan didn't go well . This process isn't easy. There are soapy steps

Hello girls,

Pennie - can't believe they got the wrong dosage, well spotlight on them to make sure your cycle is not canceled then... they will have to go the extra mile, and with your new dosage, good luck for fridays scan X

Lou - Don't worry about your scan and them saying you may have less eggs and slower to respond, slow is good and you will get lovely quality ones I think, and different to last time is not always a sign of something bad! What sorts of things are you two doing in belguim alongside the treatment?

JennyMarie - sorry those injections are being a pain , they will become easier and just part of your day.

Skeando - can't remember if I said or not to your post - I'm 39 and have amh of 5.33 pmol and on 225iu of menopur, got 12 eggs, (11 mature) , so don't worry.

This may help, this is printed on my results sheet from my amh test prior to ivf starting, to help people understand the results more.

Ovarian fertiltiy potential -
Optimum fertility - 40.04 - 67.9 pmol/1
Satisfactory Fertility - 21.98 - 40.03 pmol/1
Low Fertility 3.08 - 21.97 pmol/1
Very low / undetectable - 0.0 - 3.07 pmol/1

Well I am still peeing on sticks (opk's) early as AF was short in the end, and I have had faint lines every afternoon, but not positive yet, no where near. I'm CD11 today, I'm going to try and test with cheepy test sticks , twice a day for next few days, cd 12 tomorow, so would be good to get a pos then.. I'm a bit new to these sticks and it's a pain to try to not drink too much or pee too often before testing...don't want to get it wrong this month..

Greek girl - hang in there, wishing you all the luck in the world for testing on thursday X

Jennymarie - sorry you aren't getting on with the injections. I found the the only time I bruised was when I was allowing the needle to move around once I'd injected. Try putting it in with your finger already over (but not pressing) on the plunger (is it called that? Lol) and inject it in a way that is comfortable to your supporting hand so you can hold it steady xx

Greek - 1 more sleep  I think it's always good if you get to OTD without any bleeding so fingers crossed :clover:

JJ - you're right of course. I hate not having control, but I can just about accept no control if progress is predictable so I feel that even though I'm not in charge, I am still overseeing things... If that makes sense.

I just feel totally in the dark now and you are right that different isn't necessarily bad but it's unknowns and that is what freaks me out. Not knowing what to expect.

Honestly, we're not doing much. We're in the sticks with the dogs so it's pretty much just like home away from home. We do some shopping, walk the dogs, try the local food but it's nice as we have a courtyard with sun loungers and even though I'm not one for a tan, I love the warmth when sitting in the shade :)

We went to a frituur yesterday (chip shop) and the chips were alright (no vinegar ) but instead of pies and sausages, they have these balls and sausage shaped things that are covered in breadcrumb and they put them in the deep fryer and you end up with this... thing... that is super crunchy on the outside and really gooey in the middle. I think the middle is puréed veg and spices but maybe some have meat in a don't know. There is a lot of variety. They were really nice :)

Good luck with the OPKs. I used cheapies and never watched what I drank and I still got clear positives, never as dark as control line but I'd keep the previous ones to compare xx

hi girls, just thought I'd pop up and say hello - I'm still keeping up with all your journeys and wishing you the best but haven't really felt I had anything to add to the thread

I got my review appointment through yesterday - it's on the 27th September. So hopefully we'll work out what we want to do then. Our house sale is delayed over some legal matters which may be sorted in a week or two or may take months. We've decided if it's going to be months we'll get another cycle in first, but if it's going to be quicker we'll stick by what we'd planned and go again early next year. It's nice that it's a decision with us for the first time in years.

Good luck all

hi girls

hope you dont mind me posting in here but my gynaecologist has just rung me and said that it doesnt look like the clomid is working for me so is referring me to IVF Wales

If you dont mind, even though i wont really be able to add much to the thread given im not having it yet, i would very much like to read your stories and try and educate myself a bit about it all.
TBH im very much in shock and really didnt expect the news today, i just assumed hed increase me to 150mg clomid (tried one cycle on 50 and one cycle on 100)

anyway he said the waiting list is about 5/6 months
xxxx

Hiya Scotch! Nice to hear from you, I was wondering where you'd gotten to :)

I've been wondering about Tinker too...

What is the legal stuff? Sounds like a right pain in the arse  It's exciting that you might be able to squeeze in another cycle before the New Year though

You always have something to add to the thread, even if it doesn't feel like it

Bellarina - I'm sorry that they have abandoned your clomid cycle, but if it's not working then it's not working

Try not to read too much into it, I'm sure IVF will sort you out, and 5-6 months might sound and feel like a lot but it will pass and there are things that you can be doing like making sure you have all the requirements met xx

Ladies I have a question about testing. The hospital gave me a mid stream stick to do. But I still want to use a digi. So how do I go about that when I will need to wee in a cup. Shall I do start in one cup, then mid stream in other cup then do end in first cup. Do hosp one with mid stream then pour all into one to do digi . Either way I need it in writing. Have brown discharge ( in my pessary discharge but no bleeding so hope ur right Louise about that being a good thing .

Hmm, could you possibly pee in a bowl? Then you can easily catch the clinic test mid stream but won't have to worry about balancing a cup in place too.

That said, I'm sure a digi result will be sufficient for the clinic ;)

What time are you planning to do the test? Promise to report ASAP?

I can't believe it's here already - good luck :good:

They want us to use their stick but I need a digi result .im used to peeing in cups just wondering how to catch mid stream. I will test about 7;15 and update before I go work so before work. Now I'm scared I feel it's gone so quick was dragging before

Good luck tomorrow hon I will have my fx for you!!!

Hugs

Gizzy xxxx

I did my mid stream tests in a cup...does it make any difference?

I meant how will I do the digi. Do I use mid stream for hospital one and then mix it all together again to do digi a that's all the urine? Sorry if I was confusing

I wouldn't.

I'd put some in the cup for the digi and do the mid stream with the rest, not that I think it makes much difference.

I don't think there will be any confusion over the results xx

Thanks hun. I'm reading too much into this . Think I'm so nervous that's why .

I figured as much ;)

I'm really keeping everything crossed for you, get to bed xx

EDIT - oh, it's not even 10pm in the UK

Just wanted to say good luck to Greek for tomorow - I will try to pop on in the morning when I can to see how you got on.. really hoping for your bfp X

:dust::dust::dust::dust::dust::dust:

Lou - those deep fried balls sound odd but tasty! ha Are you doing any special diet and managing it over there while stimming eg higher protein etc? yes agree about control thing, horrible to be back to watch and wait , but your nearly there now, whens your next folicle scan booked?

Bellarina - Hello and welcome to this thread - sorry that your here (if you know what I mean), but at least you won't waste another 6 mths on clomid if it's not doing anything for you, 5/6 mths really will go fast.
I would cut back and try to save every penny from now like your having to pay for your cycle and then if you don't get many go's in your area , your ready, or if you get one go and need another, you have used your wait to get an advantage.. (which will also leave you feeling like your in control, doing something towards ttc still and not in limbo. With only min 3 mths between failed cycles , that's not enougth to try to find the cash, but if you start now, your be ahead of the game, or when you get your bfp first time round like Rea, yourll have all the baby money you will need....win win..

Scotch - sorry the house is slightly delayed, but if it means another shot at ivf this year, then yeahhhhh bring it on cycle buddy... either way it's good you have a plan whatever speed the house moves on at... and as for posting, we need your experiance, your blogs taught me everything about ivf... it doesn't need to be cycle specfic you know.....(coming from me - the girl who just likes to chat... ha). there def more waiting than cycling ion ivf!

Hope everyone else is doing ok - Pennie - hope your folicles are still growing nicely for friday

I am not quite there yet for my lh surge, it's def nearly there, but neg at mo, cd12 was today, so thought that would be the day, hoping it's tomorow.. will test twice, as line had got darker on cheepy from this mornings to this afternoon, so will test at end of morning, but not with fmu. (It's currently a week day, whichis what I need, so hurry up LH)

I'm here! You can test now Greek ;)

My stoopid hond (I'm learning Dutch :) ) started barking (can't remember the translation for that ) so here I am... awake

Plus my belly is sore :(

JJ I've been having half an avocado per day, full fat milk (well I'm not sure how fatty this foreign milk is tbh) and lots of protein.

Yesterday I had yogurt + musli for breakfast, cured meats and cheese for dinner, pork and baked beans for tea, chocolate covered brazil nuts for a snack and a malt drink for supper.

Perhaps my diet isn't as lean as it could be, in fact its carb tastic too, but I'll worry about that next cycle if we get some embryos this time around as I can't be arsed doing it again for it not to matter.

Next scan is Friday too :)
