Closed - old IVF thread

Rea let's hope it's the luck of the summer holidays as I'm a teacher too. I haven't been allowed to lift anything and I know what u mean about feeling like stretching. Weird isn't it, I imagine if I did I would know embryo out. Thanks for advice. It's a week tomorrow until I test.

Arrr hope so Greek!! I think it must help the whole process being off work. I don't know about you, but I sometimes feel like two completely different people - 'term me' and 'holiday me'. Really hope you get a positive test hun! What age group do you teach? I teach KS2. x

I totally agree with that about feeling like 2 different people . I am in reception now for a second year, which I do enjoy if I'm honest . When are u bk at work ? X

went to acs to collect test results and nasal spray this morning.

Nurse said "all your results were fine....... except your AMH came back a bit low, you will be on max dose for injections, and you need to be aware that if you don't respond to the drugs, there isn't a higher dose we can give you. But don't worry, we have lots of people with low results who respond fine."

I think she had 4.0 written in my file for AMH, does anyone know how this is measured, and how likely we are going to have probs?

I guess after 3 years of being told there are no probs it was a bit upsetting for them to find something wrong. Anyway, start sniffing a week today.

Sorry I've been a bit absent and am now being a bit ignorant, but ive been so busy and now I'm off!

Stims going well, I think :eh:

Good luck for your BFP Greek! Hope everything goes well for the rest of you ladies :)

I'll try to get on but dont know for sure about internet yet - byeeeeeeee xx

Tuesday. But I've reduced my hours this year so only working 3 days next week as I'll be doing Mon-Thurs :) easing back in gently! I have much respect for our reception team -- it's none stop!! But it also does seem like a laugh and the children are so open to the magical part of learning. I've mostly been teaching Yr5&6 so I'm at the opposite end. I'll be teaching Yr3-6 this year so I'm looking forward to teaching the younger ones and putting on voices when I read to them ;) How about you - when you back at work? x

Bk Monday for teachers training day and tues then 2 days home visits ad course fri so won't start teaching until Monday . It really is non stop. We have 47 this year so had to employ another member to team teach alongside.
I have done mainly 2,3 and 4 only done teaching prac in 6 :) hectic but I love teaching .

Hey there skeando, it's a bit of a kick in the teeth when they hit you with an unexpected hurdle isn't it... :hugs: x
I don't know much about the AMH levels but I found something on a medical website (can't say it's a perfect source...) it said:

Healthy women, below 38 years old, with normal follicular status at day 3 of the menstrual cycle, have AMH levels of 2.0 - 6.8 ng/ml

So it sounds like you're right in the range.

Keep in your mind that the drugs are powerful and they'll be monitoring you along the way so you'll be getting feedback on how your follicles are developing. Fingers crossed you get a nice response to the drugs hun, there's every reason to think you will :) and it only takes one.... xx

me too :) it's a great job. Full on but great.

Did ur boss know about ivf? We have new head when we go bk and I was just curious as my old head knew

Yes. I felt comfortable telling him and I asked him for a change in my hours to give us the best chance. I've been at the school for 6 years with the same head so it felt ok talking to him. Plus I needed to be able to take some time off for apts (only 1 morning in the end). Our senior mgmt team know and that's it.
I think it'd be a challenge going through IVF during term time though as I would have needed loads of time off... fingers crossed you'll get your BFP next week and we'll both be cruising through the autumn term ;)

I was in two minds whether to go in and tell her tomo. Or wait and see whethe we get our bfp on thurs then tell her. Any suggestions ? I'm so nervous. Really want to believe this is it but so scared I'll be heartbroken. I am currently full time .

Hey GreekGirl how are you feeling?

I'm on day4 of my buserelin injections and have been feeling quite nauseous. Not sure if its a side effect of the injections, but it could be worse i suppose. Got my scan booked for 12th Sept to see if the buserelin is working and if i start the gonal f. think they're the injections im dreading the most - make me all hormonal!

Did you say anything? I suppose at this stage hun you might as well wait until Thursday... I felt exactly the same... wishing for a positive and bracing myself in case it wasn't... not too much longer to wait now hun, try to keep yourself busy if you can, nothing strenuous but just keep your mind off things as best you can... we've all got our fingers crossed for ya! xx

Hey Jennie Marie,
shame that the Buserelin is making you feel nauseous... The only symptoms I had on the Gonal F was being a bit more teary... fingers crossed the meds settle down for you x

How did your head respond? Did she seem empathetic? x

She was lovely. Had a friend who went through ivf so she knew the process. Said anything I need for support she will Put in place whether now or the Fet . Was a relief .
