Closed - old IVF thread

Nah, I don't do any of the ice pack stuff - why give myself more jobs to do plus I don't think a cold belly is any more pleasurable that a stinging belly lol :)

Also, I've had to do some injections a couple of times because it oozes out of the puncture so I have to suck it back up and reinject

I might just start doing two injection sites per dosage to ensure it doesn't leak out

I just wish I knew it was working, I'm obsessed about what can go wrong because something has to go wrong, right? :(

Miserable cow, I know.

Louise it gets obsessive doesn't it. I used to panic incase bubble was there I couldn't see or a tiny bit would dribble out . I never used ice either .
Nothing has to go wrong , we can follow rea and the others into tri 1 - positive thinking and all that . We do so much maybe we will get our reward :)

Aw thanks Greek, I hope you're right :)

When are you testing? xx

Well done Jenny~Marie - on starting stimming - yourll do just fine...

Yes your right lots of PMA please.... Two more bfps please from you two...

Rea - ahh bless you testing again to check your line still there!!

:dust::dust::dust::dust::dust:

Thanks JJ! I'm not as tough as Louise and Greek - I used the ice pack too! I couldnt sleep last night I was so nervous (wimp!!) but it all went well this morning. I managed to do the injection myself with no probs. Just as well really as my husband works nights so 7.30am is the middle of the night for him!!

Rea I can imagine I would be the same!! Hope you enjoying it :)

Louise sounds like you all injected out at the moment - hope u feeling better now xx

I Am testing next thurs. these 5 days have gone soooo slow. Every twinge or stabbing pain is panicking me as scare I'm causing harm . Bloody hormones I'm either snappy or crying.
I hate needles so just stabbing it was better than thinking too much about it.
Come on ladies I think we all need to be promoted to tri together. This ttc section needs a clear out :)

Thanks Jj! Ur posts are always so
Positive! I just don't want to think I caused this to fail if it does. As I'm paranoid by my every move! Sure ur right about not causing any harm. Just want this to work so much! :)

Hey girls just jumping in as only just noticed ur subject change to 2 bfps....massive congratulations rea soooo happy for u and ur oh

xxxc

Hey girls, read up on everyone and glad to gear we are all going well! I am on day 6 of my sniffing down reg and touch wood no obvious symptoms as yet! Fell as though another 2 weeks is an age mind you. The girl said I could expect an af as this is normal but as I have very thin lining and provera didnt work for me I might not get one. If you do when is it likely after a week or what? Ive thought i have started a couple of times but its slightly increased cm. is that normal?

I didn't have a whole iced belly hun. I got one ice cube and put it in a little bag and after each injection I put it on the injection site for a few seconds -- it really brought the redness down.

It's all working in there Lou... Visualise all those little follicles growing... xx

Greek -- I was exactly the same (still am!) I don't think we can escape the worry that we're accidentally going to do some damage!?!? Just think, normally you'd have no idea that you had an embryo inside you and you'd just be going about your business :) Any care you take is extra hun and is giving you a head start on other mums-to-be, you're doing great :) xx

JennieMarie -- congrats on getting your first injection done - whoop whoop ;) I never managed them myself as my arm kept refusing to obey my brain!? Hope it continues to go well for ya x

I didn't do the sniffing Laura so I have no idea what'd be normal!?

JJ-- how's things with you? x

I don't think I got any side effects untill I had been DR for almost 2 weeks or so. This bit does feel like it goes on forever but as soon as you start injecting it all goes so quick.
AF should arrive when it's normally due, it did for me and wasn't any different. It stopped on a Thursday (I think) and I started spotting again on the Saturday, had my scan on the Monday and the nurse could see from the scan I still needed to bleed a bit more and the spotting continued for about 4-5 days.

Just to add it was 11 days after starting the nasal spray that AF arrived for me.

Hi LauraT - started on cd21 , and I got mine AF two days early on day 5 of DR, so expect it from now onwards , but you have plenty of time with two weeks left if it's slow to arrive.

Rea- I'm good , thanks for asking. My period started on sat at 4am, and stopped on monday teatime with a little spotting after the next morning.. very odd so after arriving on time, but I had spotted for 10 days before period started instead of my normal 5, so I guess my cycle was affected by my ivf afterall...

so cd5 now and I'm just waiting for my opks to arrive to see what day of the week my surge is on..to decide which type of cycle to book in for on 22nd sept. fingers crossed for natural

How is stimmnig going Lou? So you and JennyMarie are close in cycles now ?

Greek Girl , your the next bfp, then Lou , then Jenny Marie and Laura T !! That will catch us up with the clomid ladies....yayy

Thanks for your comments rea! I think we love our embryos from so early on a we do have a head start! But worry starts earlier too :)
What a journey we all take. It's a long process but hopefully we will all have our beautiful babies soon x

Rea - I know they say it makes no difference sitting about and resting after transfer, but as you got your bfp, do you mind telling us what did you do after transfer and the rest of that week? Did you put your feet up?

Thanks for the replies girls. Ive not had an af for 18 months so Im not expecting it to arrive even with the down reg but hey ho you never know.

JJ yeah lets go in that order and get all these BFP's going!!!!

I did take it easy Jen. I didn't lift anything, I didn't walk far, I didn't reach for anything that meant I was stretching... I'll give you the details :)

Sat was transfer day and I hardly walked anywhere, just sat on a lounger in the garden with friends (in the shade as the nurse had said to keep my core temp down)
Sunday I also took it easy. I don't normally nap during the day but I felt like snoozing on Sunday and Tuesday so I did.
Tues I was totally fed up as I was clock watching but didn't want to do anything vigorous - spent all day in the flat not doing much then my OH ended up taking me out for dinner and the pictures.
Wed I walked around the shops a bit, not much else.
Thurs I had a gentle day, think we went for a little walk and had a cream tea :)
(I'm not at work at the mo as I'm a teacher)
Fri - Mon my cousins family were visiting so I pottered about with them but I still didn't lift/carry anything.

So mostly I did rest when I felt like I needed to and I was very mindful of not pushing my body at all.

Also, I spent the first weekend with friends staying and the second with my cousins family staying nearby so also laughed a lot (which you never know - may have helped! :) )
Also (this may sound silly to some) I tried to visualise what was happening in my uterus and 'see' our embryo attaching and nestling in... I think that helped me feel calmer... xx
