Closed - old IVF thread

Ooooh looking forward to Monday :good:

The puppy was alright

My mum knows loads of people who know lots about keeping dogs and she ignores us all and goes and unwittingly buys a 14 week old working lurcher mutt for £50 with no training or vaccinations or anything from a bloody gypsy puppy mill no less :wall2:

He bites really hard, he pisses all over the house, he whinges all the time, he chews to destroy and he is HUGE.

Most of these things can be avoided by buying from a good breeder and the things like toilet training is something my mum doesn't seem to have the common sense to do - she works full time btw :wall:

If she thinks I'm taking any babies of mine into that environment she's has another thing coming.

Ok, sorry for the rant

In other news, I starts stims tonight

Oh and I got some spotting last night which turned into AF today, so the fifth day after my last pill :) Right on target. I am glad I got it before starting stims as they wanted me to start regardless for any bleeding and I would have been worrying about old blood :oooo:

Yayyy Lou Horayyy for starting stims, loving the new tickers, 13 days till fertilisation! it's all going very quickly now. See what you mean about your mum and the dog thing, I guess yourll have to just leave her to it, if she has not listened to your dog tips up till now...

Rea - wishing you all the best luck on monday, only two more sleeps now till testing - its def someones turn for some good luck in here , weve had three cycles end in neg results in here since Blondys bfp, and we all need some positive news to keep us going.....X

Laura - ahh so both doing IUI then, nice to find out all about how the other half of this thread do things, it's all a mish mash of the drugs, and process's of all our treatments , jiggled about to suit you and your clinics, funny how we all have different ones.. Is IUI quicker than IVF, how long should it be from start on 6th sept to finish before you find out if your preggers?

GreekGirl - How are you feeling? Are you enjoying those lovely pessaries....? I used mine as a good excuse to shove in and lay down while my son watched early morning cbeebies...

Tinks - Good idea to make sure your body is really to go first to save you any more heartache, Oct/nov is no time atall tho as it's xmas in 4 mths!!! I'm hoping for things to be going sept/oct/nov depending on my cycle so we could be cycle buddys again!

Well after thinking I ovulated late, My AF arrived at 4am this morning, body woke me up to say get up quick your about to flood in the bed... funny how your body tells you these things - clever.. So my period was bang on time after all, I came on 28 days ago today last month (at midnight not 4am tho!) after my failed IVF cycle so I can't believe it hasn't changed my cycle in any way other than 4 hours difference!.... I was really holding out for a late cycle and then my cycle would get off of weekends to help me have a natural cycle.

Well maybee when I practice with this cycle for OPKs and LH surge I could perhaps still get a thurs or friday surge and then with a cast iron cycle like mine that will then be good for natural anyway.. yayy. Looking forward to the FET now.

Woah JJ - I feel liked haven't been paying attention all of a sudden!

So... You just got your AF and after this cycles LH surge, you are having your FET?!

You'd be perfectly synced with me!!! :good:

Or is it not this cycle? When is it?

Is it impossible for you conceive naturally? Did they not even attempt to reconnect your tubes? xx

What a bust thread! We all seem to he at all systems go. Let's get some bfps ladies!
The pessaries are 'ok' . Not as bad as I thought . I take them as i go to bed so kind of forget about them after they are in. ( minus the residue they leave behind). Told me to take it easy for 5 days , still quite sore but feel bit more myself today.
Jj I hope af isn't too bad and all getting ready for Fet.
Louise I know what u mean about dogs . We have a friend who didn't go to a breeder and chose one like this. Went puppy school and was told to stop attending as was too problematic . They Apparently inbred dogs and so cause these problems. I hope stimmering stage is going ok. Hoping the days pass quickly for us both.
Rea enjoy the weekend and good luck for testing. I am resting and not doing a great deal as advised for first 5 days anyway .

Ha Lou, no I wish!! would be great to be your cycle buddy, but it's hopefully next cycle... I can't book in till I have had three bleeds inc the one straight after failed cycle, so this is two now, but I have this cycle to practice and see if I get a weekday LH surge, if I do I can book in on 22nd period for natural FET, which would make it early oct for transfer I guess. If weekend surge I will have to book in for medicated FET , which will take much longer and wait till day 21 and then DR again, before Estrogen patches and transfer etc, so same length as IVF cycle I think. Either way I need ot a period before or on 22nd sept as thats the last date at mo for booking in this year I think!! arghh

My first private consultant appointment, I paid £150 for the fella to tell me reconnecting my tubes wouldn't work! Apparently when they cut the tubes during a section they gung ho cut too much out! and he said it wouldn't work. I burst into tears on him.. I got a totally different opinon from a specialist clinic in the states, and was all set to go there, but you need an adult to be with you for the week, my mate chickened out , thought she would do it. I would have done anything if it was for her.. I offered to pay for everything, even got the passport forms as hers had run out.. was gutted.. so it's still an option but costs as much as the ivf...and still have the issue of who to go with me.. so much harder once you have kids to do things like this.. Ive never felt so hands tied....She did help me by having Devon when Egg Collect and for consents which was a really big help, but I still feel gutted about the real lengths of our freindship.. The other drawback is this is a full on section style op and I need my tum to be good for one last section potentialy. Still an option, but high rate of ectopics too and no guarentee still, but risky..

forgot to say - Lou you asked earlier , my review on 11th Sept anyway so will know more then..

Greek girl - glad your feeling more yourself now... the 2WW is the hardest bit I think X

Anyone see the game show "Red or Black tonight"? I was soo pleased for the couple that won in the end as they wanted the money to pay for more IVF for siblings for their new IVF baby.

Ah I see, bummer :(

Nightmare about your friend too, I hate it when you think you have a really good friend and when you need them the most they let you down - especially when it's not like you are asking for anything other than their time

I'd come :)

Oh I missed Red and Black but glad the people won really needed the money. Is it better this time? Last time it didn't seem very fair because not everyone had a genuine ability to select the colour they wanted because it depended on what someone else picked.

Are they doing an IVF story in Corrie? I caught a bit of an episode the other day. I'm paranoid now that they are going to over simplify it because that is the only place a lot of people are going to be exposed to it :oooo:

Jj sorry to hear ur friend chickened out. Always find this in friendships. I have found a lot of friends disappear when I have needed them most. My maid if honour took 10 days to text me after my mc and I haven't heard from her since either.

Red or black- I was so happy for them . Yeah it is still dependent on if 4 choose a colour u have to go with other.

Corrie: I don't follow it but my mum was telling me - it's a girl can't have kids so her sister is having ivf for her ( surrogacy). Mum said they have spoken of costs and bits of process like Ec and Et . But not into depth yet. She said she hopes they cover it well, to show what process is.

Seems at the mo ivf is popular topic .

Omg congratulations Rea!!!
So so pleased for you!!
Woop woop to 2 bfp's on here!!
What made you cave earlier? Eeeeek well done!!

Thanks Blondy :) feel thrilled!!!
My OH came home earlier than we thought so we decided one day early would be ok :) AND IT WAS!!!!!

OMG Rea!!!!!

FANTASTIC NEWS! I'm so thrilled for you both :dance::dance:
