It's so confusing isn't is sugar. I would try not to stress and just carry on taking the clomid now you've started.

I am just waiting for AF to start so I can start taking them!! I'm already thinking will 50mg be enough! They've given me enough for 50mg for 3 months but also enough to go up to 100 if I get to cd 44 (which will never happen with me).

Please be careful. Whilst some people do need a higher dose, others are very sensitive and over-respond (I was told it was a symptom of PCOS). I was one such lady and got 8 mature follicles on 50mg and 5 on 25mg! I was supposed to be doing IUI with clomid but they gave up and I just did natural cycles instead. My sister was given 6 months of 50mg clomid by her GP and not monitored!!! Nothing happened during that time but she got pregnant naturally after she stopped it. Xxx

Thanks phonix for the advice. Although the temptation is there I don't know if I would actually do it because I know there can be side effects. I guess it's just thoughts of desperation because I really want this to work but am scared that it won't!

This could happen if I'm not scanned couldn't it?

What CD do I need to have a scan? Hubby has OKd me having a private scan.

Yeah Sugarpop. I was scanned regularly. If you're having a private one then ask them when's best - maybe around CD8 based on ovulation at day 14? That's not tooo early but they should have an idea of the follicles. Also might be worth asking the doc who gave you the clomid if they can scan you as you go along just to monitor you? They should be doing that anyway really!

I understand it's tempting to take it. I had to sign a disclosure form promising not to DTD and that I understood the possible implications if I did lol. In desperation we still did and still didn't get pregnant! I was tempted to take my leftovers too (only 1/4 of a tablet though, which was 12.5mg).

When I ovulated and had 8 it was horrible. I was sweating, had the most unbearable cramps and was drifting in and out of consciousness. So I really would ask to be monitored... I knew what was happening but I'd have been really scared if I didn't. Oh and 8 babies... eek!!! Xx

Someone I know said around Day 10 they had theirs done so that would be around Saturday which is fine.

I was scanned on CD10, then again on about CD15 as I hadn't grown anything on the day 10 scan! The place that does private scanning near me only charges a set fee for follicle tracking so will rescan as many times as you need for free.

Oh that's fab Snowbee! I have emailed 3/4 clinics asking about it. Think on average it's around £170. Hopefully it'll just be once that I have to have it. MIL has offered to pay because she agrees it's dangerous to not be monitored! I've told her not to bother and we'll pay but if I need more than one or two she may be taken up on her offer

Sounds about right, I think it was £180 at our local one. Exciting times hey! I got really excited about ovulation and knowing we really were in with a chance.

7dpo for me now. Not sure when I'll test yet but I'm bound to do it too early...

I'm thinking its down to budget cuts. There was talk of my trust cancelling all IVF unless the woman was 37 or over. It's sh*t and completely unfair if it goes ahead.

Had one email back already. Apparently they only scan their own patients. Mustn't need the extra £££ then!

CD1 here finally! Will start taking the clomid tomorrow, I'm actually feeling quite nervous!

I did. A clinic in the next town over have booked me in for 4pm Friday. Oh & I will be travelling back from Lincoln to home so I am hoping traffic is good to us. If not it won't be worth having a scan at all.

Im new to this thread but i was just wondering if anyone has been put on clomid even though ovulating on there own. My doc has put me on it for 6 mths (50g) on second cycle now.

I think I do ovulate, but not every month. I think doctors prescribe it to people that already ovulate to strengthen the ovulation?

What days are you taking it?

2-7, i think its just to try everything before ivf referral. I ovulate every month. Been trying to find any success stories with people taking clomid and ovulating on there own. majority polystic ovaries or ovulation problems.

Those are the same days as me. Can I ask how you know your ovulating? Have you had bloods done?

I think I remember reading somewhere that it can help the quality off the egg released too but don't quote me on that.

yeah i've had bloods done and i use ovulation predictor kits
