Christmas 2013 Thread!

Me want !!!

Thankfully we live 3 minutes from my parents and about a minute from in-laws so we can see everyone!

I always have dinner at my Mum's and she does pork and turkey. Plus all the trimmings. I salivate when I think about her Crimbo dinner.

In the morning we'll have bacon sarnies and mugs of tea. The we save ourselves for dinner (it's normally quite early, 3pm)

Then we have turkey sandwiches, pickles, cheese and cheese biscuits and dips in the evening.

God I am going to be even bigger come January :wall2:

Lol then its on to January diets and skint month. The joys LOL.

Even more joyous because Jackson is 1 in January my planning wasn't very good LOL.

I think christmas is the only day I am able to comsume THAT amount of food, like normally I'm not a big eater but xmas day I'm a bottomless pit. Its aloud. Its only once a year!

BB, Is there a Home Sense near you? It's a home wear version of TK Maxx and they do lovely decorations and are relatively cheap. Otherwise if you have access to Costco, it has some fab decorations.
I've seen Tesco's collection and its really good too!

Diane, I've got my mum some bedding and have ordered one of those bear-workshop teddies with E's chuckle recorded so when it's tummy is pressed her laugh is sounded. More of a sentimental gift really. Hubby and I have agreed a limit of £10 for each other and it's a competition to see who can make their £10 go the furthest.

Xxx

No home sense, sounds fab tho, I'm jealous!

I'll check out those places, I haven't seen any in the supermarket yet, but i'm sure they'll all be out soon!

Carnat I LOVE John Lewis however I'm down to smp only at the moment so simply cannot justify spending so much on non essential items lol I might sneak a couple really pretty baubles and tell oh they're from primark! I'm sure I can sacrifice getting my eyebrows done or something!

Tapatalking!!

I really must update my ticker!

I've bought my first Christmas present. It's for my bro. Now I just have to buy for everyone else !! X

I'm thinking of getting the My Pal Scout, LeapFrog walker, sensory tent & a couple of Sophie Giraffe bits & he'll be done then. Do you think it's a good range to get him through his first year? Apart from Easter he wont really be getting anything else until his birthday

Wowser Doodles have you had a lottery win

We've got a fair amount for James but they are split between his Birthday in a few weeks and Crimbo.

We've got a massive family but I really don't want them to go mad. I've told them all, I know my sister is getting him a Scuttle-Bug for Crimbo.

 I wish, hubby's just had a small bonus & been saving like crazy. Also helps that most of it is from HomeBargains so we get 10% off ;) x

We got this for some xmas snaps! Thinking of doing some soon in time for the family christmas cards!

Oh so cute!

Was thinking of doing our piccies soon as I want to get some cards made too.

I actually want "postcards" though, not actual cards (as I already have my cards)

Anyone know where I can get postcards made online.

Also anyone have any suggestions how to get a very lively child to sit for a photo???

xxxxxx

I loved the cards on vista print i thought they were reasonable price, perhaps they will do postcards on there?

I will only get the pic cards for close friends/fam. I have to get Jackson's classmates/teachers ones too :p

Jackson is a bit of a poser but if he wont stay at peace I tend to either make a noise he likes or a toy that makes loads of noise, get OH to stand behind me with it and snap!

Also, if he will only sit at peace with a toy you could get like a little xmas teddy that he could have in the pic that way hes sitting playing or occupied whilst you take some shots.

Actually I just got an idea for pics, wrap something up and let him unwrap it for the camera. Will make a cute photo and keep him still LOL then he gets a lil toy for being a good boy!

Is a cotbed matress a shitty present for Christmas? I only have a second hand foam one for LM :( I never wanted to use second hand, due to not being able to clean in thoroughly enough, nor have a foam one as they arent recommended. I know that it was well look after and cleaned as well as it can be regularly by my friend who had it for her son briefly. I had no choice to use it as FOB wouldnt let me have LMs matress her Nana bought brand new and gave it away. And I was left with no money at the time.

I may be able to afford a new one for her nearer Christmas, but thought it was a rubbish present? Xx

I don't think so em! If she needs it get it.

Any money ppl give we will be stocking up on bigger clothes lol. That's not a good present but I'm sure she will get enough toys from family.

I picked up a cot matress new, cheap on ebay.

It's not a rubbish present, last year for Christmas my parents got A his highchair, my OH's parents put money towards his next stage car seat. We got him a buggy snuggle and a bath seat thing. Our LOs are not at an age where they're going to remember what they got - as long as they've got a few bits and pieces to pull the paper off on Christmas morning then they'll be happy :)

EDIT: Oh, and I gave A a toothbrush for his birthday :p

At this age you should buy what they need, they don't actually "want" anything.

I am wrapping up socks and PJ's and clothes for James as I know he'll care more about the wrapping paper than the actual pressies

I think it's a brilliant present. Me and OH are going halves on a toaster for Christmas as our has just died on us and we have a wedding to pay for. I also have expensive taste in toasters. Nothing at all wrong with practical - especially when they're too young to know what Christmas is. Go for it!

So after goin to nursery last night I've learned jackson is right into the sensory stuff - so as most of the fam r buying learning toys I'm gna get him loads of sensory stuff and the tent n tunnel and ballpit.

I found a good site its got things for babies with special needs but the sensory is obv good for all babies.

I'm deffo getting the turtle star projector.. I've took the link for u guys and clicked the xmas ideas but the whole site is pretty good! And cheap. (Has expensive stuff too)
