*-*-*-*August Mummies!*-*-*-*

How are you doing today Nicky? Only 2 more days out of the house and it will be all done :)
You've enough reason to be very annoyed about everything but I also think at this time hormones are a real pain. I'm just constantly very moody and don't want to do anything. But the cold and not being able to go home really doesn't help either!
Glad to hear you're not in so much pain anymore. Did you go to physio or did it help to rest a bit?

How's the decoration of the nursery going? Would love to see the pics! xxxx

Morning ladies - i slept better last night still tired but improvement and Painter ISNT coming today now wed and friday so have house to myself. really want to just snooze but feel id waste a day so going to get my hospital bag sorted and purchase some things online.

we are doing our birth plan on Fri night - got a layout in my notes and will look at NHS one -
I think basics are:
pain relief
If you want skin to skin or baby cleaned up first
is dad cutting the cord
3rd stage so how you want placenta delivered

i think since going to Private Ante natal and NHS yesterday i now have an idea of what i want.
tens machine to use at home
Water birth and active out of water if i have to
gas/air initially and if i need it further pain relief
low lighting
calm music
not too many people in room
skin to skin with baby
epi or c section if baby in distress or if i am in distress ha ha

what do u all have in mind/xxx

I've got my 36wk one tomorrow, although I'll be very nearly 37, so maybe she will talk about it then!

It's quite late to get it with 37 weeks! I think the midwifes should really discuss it with 34 weeks to make sure you've the information before going into labour. Especially when they might have miss-calculated your due date. Hope she will discuss it tomorrow!
How're you doing? Is everythign going well? No signs for you yet? xx

hi Lyds, lovely to catch up.... Am seeing Pyhsio tomorrow but its improved 99% tbh i get sore but i cant grumble
as for cold its now day 7 and its going but very slowly

our painter got told his dad has cancer which is why he cant come in today - i was initially angry then stopped myself and thought how he must be feeling, i lost dad to cancer so totally know what his going through
just meant i could have had a lay in today and not get up at 7.30am....

Dave painted nursery at weekend its a very light sky grey hard to tell it looks white in certain lights, will have furniture in by weekend hopefully and all ladders out of room so will post u pics. Cleaning the carpets at weekend and need to sort curtains and bunting etc... then my nursing chair and some pictures - getting there
did u do your nursery?

its so hard with hormones - i am usually such a strong person but crumbled so much lately
xxxx

hello you sound like your having a very crappy time at the moment. Is your cold any better today?

Oh no! That really sucks that you have to be out of the house again. Luckily not for too many days!

Hopefully once your cold passes you will perk up a little and begin to enjoy the last weeks of pregnancy xx

Hi Nicky!
Glad to hear today is going better and you've the house to yourself!

I've decided a few things already but will have the appointment tomorrow so might still change my mind:

Give birth: in hospital
Companions: OH only
Vacuum delivery: I would like my partner to be there
Caesarean section: I would like my partner to be there but if he can't handle it he can leave the room
Birthing equipment: not sure yet, will have to discuss options with midwife
Birthing positions: not sure yet, will have to discuss options with midwife
Monitoring baby's heartbeat during labour: yes
Skin-to-skin contawct: in antenatal class they told us the baby will never be properly cleaned but they always wipe some off before giving the baby to you.
Pain relief: trying not to use anything, only when neccesary (will probably change my mind soon enough :) )
Feeding: I would like to breastfeed my baby
Vitamin K: can be given, preferably by injection

There is so much to think about! Hopefully we still have a few weeks to decide. They say most people change their mind during labour anyway. We will see :) xxx

My list is pretty much the same as yours! I bought a tens machine, want to use the pool. Going to try and cope with just the gas and air though, don't want an epidural as I'd like to be able to move!

I know, it is quite late, lucky I'm laid back lol

I'm doing ok really, just not sleeping all that well. Definitely feeling more pressure lower down, it is getting harder to walk and I have to get up for a wee at least 4 times in the night now
They said at last visit the baby's head was engaged so she is getting prepared to make her exit. I've had a few cramps and some sharp pains in my cervix but nothing overly exciting yet. Going to stop work on 19th July so hoping to see some action any time after that!

sounds like u have a good idea though Hunny TBH it might ALL change in labour as long as your OH knows what u might want you can just get him to speak for you.
I am just petrified of having a CS as the recovery is tough and want to be able to enjoy baby and not rely on Dave as have had to past few weeks. but needs must however Moo needs to get out.

I have so much reading material with birth positions etc.
i am getting some clary sage made up as want dave to use this on me when I am in pain.
will use ball and try just pace out the pain HA ! but have no idea what labour is like

Wow 99% improvement sounds great! That's at least one thing you hopefully don't have to worry about anymore! Especially when you get physio. Did you talk to your midwife or GP about the cold? They might be able to give you something which doesn't harm your baby. Let's hope it will be gone soon! FX!

I'm sorry to hear about your dad! It must be so hard to know your little one will never be able to meet him. Cancer is so awful :(

Sounds like the nursery is nearly done. Would be so nice to see the whole picture. I think once the nursery is done it will all suddenly feel so real!
We haven't started the nursery yet. My OH"s brother was here from Friday morning till yesterday afternoon so he was sleeping in the spare bedroom.
My OH is taking the carpet cleaner from his work home today and hopefully start building all furniture tonight. We already have the furniture in the garage but first wanted to clean the carpet etc before building it all. Last night we ordered all the bits and pieces so nearly ready to go :) We ordered nearly the whole Lollipop Lane - Pumpkin & Popsicle collection. I absolutely love it and can't wait for it to arrive. So exciting! :D xxxx

Yes, hoping it is actually a girl as people are making me doubt it now but looking forward to it!

I think it was cheaper, I looked at hiring from boots and I think it was about £30 but I bought one for about £25 inc delivery from Med Fit http://www.medfithomecare.com/categories/tens-and-stimulation.html

Apparently the one from Med Fit that I got is the same one that the NHS use, I did look in to it before and they have good reviews. The delivery was super quick too! I figured if I just buy one I don't have to worry about sending it back etc.

I've packed a tankini top to wear, although it won't cover my belly it is quite covering and comfortable. I don't really fancy sitting in the with my knockers hanging out, there will be enough on show hehe

So exciting, fully cooked in a few days time so you never know what's going to happen. Are you ready apart from writing the birth plan? Did you start some 'tricks' to speed up the process? xx

Yeah I think we have everything we need now Lydia, just waiting for the baby!

I've been drinking raspberry leaf tea for about 2 weeks now, I've got some bath bubbles with clary sage oil in and I've been using my ball lots which I think is what helped babies head to engage.

Will be trying sex, curry and speed bumps once I've finished wok hehe

Only 3 weeks from being diagnosed. I can't even imagine how you must have felt. Little Moo won't be able to meet him but I'm sure she will love him after hearing all about him. He will be so proud of you!

Aw thank you! Yes I absolutely love the Pumpkin & Popsicle collection. Thought it might be a little girly but it's quit hard to find something unisex with a lot of colour. Can't wait to have it all ready and post the pics.

My OH was so nice yesterday. He wanted to stay team yellow but I didn't want to but decided to be nice. But lately I keep telling him that I kind of really want to know. I want to but knowing how much it means for him not to know I don't want to know. So yesterday he called lots of places to ask if it is still possible to have a scan at 34 weeks. They nearly all said that it's a bit too late now to see it. He's such a great husband! :) xxx

u have a good man there Lydia - its not long to wait now before u know if your pink /blue. bless him for trying though but
yes by now bubs would have moved down so much they wont be able to see little bits ha ha.

yes my Dad would be very proud. I am also very lucky that Dave is my soulmate his like my dad in so many ways, strong, hard working and wants the best for his family,.. i cant ask for much more

god im welling up now typing this

i really want to get cracking on stuff but i actually really want to snooze now zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz cxxxxx

Sounds like you're planning it well but saving the best options for the end :) Let's hope it all helps! Will be great to start hearing birth stories from the August mummies soon! xx

I thought this. Considering my 36 week app is at 37+5 instead of 36 weeks. And my original due date was 21st July. So, i woul be 40+2 at that appointment if my first date was correct lol xx
