*-*-*-*August Mummies!*-*-*-*

So what do you do then?
I'm boring - i work in a supermarket! lol, been there since i was 16 and i'm 22 In august! But, it's easy and pays the bills, and now i'm stuck as i'm not qualified to do anything else lol and every other job i see is about £6.50ph! My OH is 26 and he works with raw meat and fish! Yuck! The cats love the smell of him some days though haha.

Do you want to do phone n numbers or just on the forum for now?

xx

I will be going back for sure unless I manage to win the lottery lol. I want to be earning atleast maternity pay when I go back as we really can not afford for me not to go back. Yes tri 3 is so close for u!

What do you study? Good luck for tomorrow! I was thinking of dling another management course from home while on maternity but I think ill be just too busy!

Oh no! I bet you cant wait until u get into a bed. Is your exam there? Or is it online? No bad symptoms and chest pain has all gone! Thankfully! Nothing bad really and even work hasnt been too painful x

Lol hope you'll win the lottery soon. More people on this forum have been very lucky lately so you never know ;) I know what you mean though, you lose so much money when you're not working. My OH earns enough money for both of us but I really want to earn my own money and work a few days a week.

I'm studying Economics. It's a distance learning course from a university in the Netherlands so every 3 months I'll have to go there to write exams. The exam happily went well yesterday :) What kind of management course are you thinking of? Yes it might be hard to work, study and be there for your little baby. Just don't know yet how it will be.

Glad to hear your chest pain is gone! Hopefully you'll feel good the last 4 working weeks! Not long to go now! Are you counting down the days? xx

Yay I'm now officially in trimester 3! Hello everyone :D xx

Well ive worked out that we would only have £3000 in benefits if I didn't go back. Certainly cant afford that and OH wages lol. Not after being used yo much more.
But I enjoy working and a few hours a week would b great.

Im glad your exam went well. Thats quite a way to go for an exam lol. I did a general business snd management course a few years ago and can top it up. But I have so much time ahead of me to do it as I am only 21 and can even focus on it after children.

Yes! 15 working days left and im off now until the 30th! Woo! Really want to finish now.

May start sorting out his room. Getting the big wardrobe cleared of anything that isnt his. :)

Welcome to tri 3 too. Did you find somebody to take over the tri 2 roll call? Xxx

Yay I have a bump buddy, we will be pairing up to do each other's labour threads, can u add it to the top, I'm buddying with buggy1 :-)

Xx

Ha ha yes, its so easy to just stay there a little longer. And what with the discount, free shares and vouchers etc, it works out pretty well. Oh I hate the online shoppers in our store. Im at tesco though, not sainsburys. They always pester me lol! Sainsburys is much nicer. Love the bakery! Lol

Ill message you now :) xx

Are you finding it really helps? Those trolleys can be heavy. Its like me. I work produce which can be really heavy and full on. I was getting pains but have been changed to routines and slightly changed my shifts. Is all your time now going as sick pay? When do u have to return to work? Xx

yeah ya have to look after number one and listen to your body.
i got to the point whereas i had to be moved to checkouts when i was about 5 months because i had a couple of bleeds early on in my pregnancy which the midwife told me could be due to heavy lifting and pressure on my cervix. it was too painful for my back anyway by this point.
but when i moved my sciatica just didnt get better, with me standing or sitting in one position id get home that night and wouldnt be able to move! and i would then have to have a few days off to recover!!
i left about 3-4 weeks ago now as i decided it was pointless what i was doing, going in and nakering myself.
im on full term sick now until my hols start on the 24th of june. i booked 6 weeks hols before my due date so my maternity pay actually starts on my due date.
i get 9 months off paid and then if i wanted a year off i would have to use all my hols up for the last 3 months.
what about you? have you got long to go? x

Ah i bet that was worrying :( I completely know what you mean. I was like that after my 9 hour shifts of lifting etc.. got home and couldnt move, but mw wasnt concerned so i had to change what i was doing. The last thing you would want is to be calling in sick every few days, and to be honest, checkouts are no better. You get all the arsey people come through to you and that stresses you out, on top of twisting about from one side to the other.
It is good that you are looking after yourself and the little one :D

Oh thats good. I had 7 weeks holiday to book between April and August. I spread mine out a little and am starting my full leave on June 19th and my maternity starts 17th July. I will be going back next April, not having the year off, but i have no idea how many hours or what ill be working yet..

Can not wait now. just 15 more days in work and i'm done! But im leaving so early, im sure i will be so bored until the little one arrives! :(

How has prep for nursery come along and in terms of buying everything you need? xx

it was yeah , bleeds are worrying full stop no matter what people tell ya , got lots of close fam and friends around me though and my fella was brill with me he tends to be the first one to say 'come on now get a grip lil man is fine ' lol and sometimes ya do need that.
no checkouts are just borin arent they more than anythin , ya watch the time on ya till! lol glad you are too :)

yeah thats a good maternity plan. to be honest i aint keen on having the year off but i also dont want to go back full time , trying work things around family so we wouldnt have to put lil man into child care, but if we do a few days then theres not a lot we can do :(

i do get bored some days but i also just enjoy being able to move around a lot better than i would if i was in work ! we will have to keep coming up with ideas what to once we both leave lol im thinking a lot of cooking and baking?? lol

we have got everything if not too much that we need lol but we are living at my mum n dads at the min because my fella has just sold his old house, we cant move in our new home until the 1st of august but its his sisters old house so we havnt got to decorate or get a great deal. it will just be a case of doing the nursery when we are in there, which wont be a problem cuz most babys dont go in their cots until they are 6 months do they.

omg yeah! haha thats gonna be interesting, lets hope your not early eh! lol i might be early which will make things easier lol x

Yeh, my mum has said about changing an afternoon and my dad has said he can always stay with him for a few hours if need be. I do not want him in care, i would prefer me or my OH or our family to help. But i wouldnt wanna ask them to do too much. But i do need to go back to work. Mainly because of the money - but also because i am a working girl - i need to be going out at least a few hours a week. But we shouldn't worry about that until next year. See what we can do when the time comes!

I love baking! Always a good thing - get my OH to try a new cake everyday haha! :D To be honest, it would be lovely to do that and hand cakes out to my family actually. They have been so lovely and helpful :D Im also thinking of a series to watch. I watched the O.C and One tree hill not long ago - quite enjoyed wasting my time with those lol :D No doubt we will also keep looking at our baby clothes selection and checking our hospital bags lol

Yeh i know what you mean - there is certainly no rush to get the nursery done until the baby arrives. We are personally going to try get baby into his room around 6-8 weeks. But i guess even thats not certain as you never know until they are here. Is your new home going to be a mortgage or rent? I sound really nosey dont i? I am not honest lol im just making convo! lol. We are renting, and on our wages will prob not get a mortgage for a while. But its £595 a month in rent, its ridiculous! That's more than ill be earning when i'm on mat leave lol!

You could be early and so could i or we could be both late! Sigh! lol
Majority of my family think im going to have baby on 30th or 31st July.. and my OH (scott) thinks August 1st because thats my birthday! But the closer i get, the more likely i think he will be late :P Hopefully not too late as have a wedding on september 13th and need to buy clothes for that. Don't want a big post preg belly in a nice dress! :D xx

i totally agree with ya yeah about the child care thing i just think im going to be one of those paranoid mums who doesnt like leaving me baby with anyone other than friends or family lol just the storys ya hear nowadays its enough to make ya paranoid. and where works concerned im the same , it drives me insane after so long of being off , i know we will be busy looking after our two lil terrors lol but iv always been used to my own wage and my own money, we could live off my fella's wages easily in the summer but winter time would be a struggle if we still wanted the nice things so going back to work part time will be a must.

im not too bad at baking , iv never burned anything anyway lol but i do love cooking:)

i dont blame ya doing the nursery soon as ya can though cuz we would if it was different circumstances. nooo your not being nosey ! lol i dont mind, we will be renting his sisters old house, she hasnt got much left on her mortgage so we are hoping to buy off her eventually, we cant turn it down though as i know what you mean about houses being so high to rent, this one is just 350 a month and no deposit thats why we are willing to wait:)

aww how lovely! they say ya belly goes down after about 4-6 weeks after birth so you should be fine! :) and as for us both being late please dont say that ! lol the thought of it scares me haha aww that would be a lovely bday present for ya!:) im going to start taking those raspberry leaf capsules from 35-37weeks as im told it heps birth and stuff, but also it can bring on early labour the rumours have it lol, just warning ya! lol x
