Omg names :/ We have a first name but struggling for a middle name to go with it. Boys names are so much harder than girls I think.

Self employed Maternity Allowance:

Hi all! I know there are a few of us who are self employed, so hopefully this might help.

Notice for maternity has to be given after week 26, and can only be given after you receive your MATB1 form.
I am doing it today so thought I would share to make it easier.

You have to fill in the MA1 form and send it back along with proof of earnings (tax calculation SA302 ) and proof of pregnancy (MAT1B)

MA1 FORM:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/maternity-allowance-claim-form

Tax calculation SA302:
You can either download and print this from your self assessment home page on .gov or call HMRC on 0300 200 3310 - its not as busy this time of year so easy enough to get through. They can print and send you one in the post - though it takes up to 14 days. If you pay Class 2 NI contributions you are entitled to MA.

MAT1B:
Ask your midwife or doctor for this after 20 weeks.

I got the flu jab and the whooping cough at the same time, one in each arm and it floored me for a few days hahah having said that I also had horrific sickness, nausea and was exhausted due to peeing 5485558545 times per night (total accurate number- I counted I swear) haha xx
