Ok excuse me for my ignorance, but I am starting to think about what to buy and my question is: what do babies wear? Looking online, I see that the recommendation for newborns is generally a vest with a sleep suit on top, plus a cardigan or whatever for going outside. Even in August? Im thinking it might be hot? Id love some advice from more experienced mums please! My idea is that I wont buy too many clothes before the baby is born but obviously well need some newborn outfits.
Also, Ive been looking at Moses baskets and it seems that they are really convenient because you can move them around and its an easy way of having the baby in the same room as you at first, but Ive also read that children grow out of them really fast and not all babies like them. I think we can ( just about) fit a cot into our bedroom so what would we do then during the day if we didnt have a Moses basket? Im guessing its better to be able to have the baby in the same room at all times during the day...
Thank you! Pretty obvious Im a first timer!
Hope this might help-
My little boy was a may baby so still quite small come august (only 5lb born) depending on how hot it was we tended to go with either vests or t shirt and shorts or short rompers during the day and then either vest and blanket or baby grow for bed or lounging around the house. My niece was a June baby and either had girl rompers or vests and thin dresses on if she was out. Always worth having some light cardigans or just blankets though as surprising how chilly it can be for babies in the shade or if there is a breeze. It is really helpful for them to have a vest on as it tends to keep the nappy in place as well
Regarding sleeping arrangements last time we had a wooden crib upstairs and a pop up Moses basket that we used downstairs or in the garden. This time however we are planning to use the crib again and carry cot part of our pram downstairs to raise it off the floor from the toddler. It doesn't just depend on the size of child but also how they sleep as to how quickly they grow out of these things. my little boy likes to sleep with his arms starfish style so needed more space quite quickly even though he was tiny.
