Are boys naturally heavier than girls?

Charley's always been a chunk, born 8 days early but already 8lb 6oz and has always loved his food... Milk and solids so I know he'll take after his dad and be big but is every boy like that?
About 2 weeks ago charley was 18lb 1oz and earlier I looked through laceys red book and at the same age she was only 16lb 4oz!
That's quite a big difference!
I'm not worried, was just wondering! x x

erm not sure lol i think its dependent on the child, Madison east super healthy and is 31lb, her cousin who doesnt (gets loadsa junk and crap food and eats farrrrr more) only weighs like 22lb?? lol i dont care either!! but i think its in their make up just!! xx

Boys are naturall bigger than girls anyway. Drake was only 6lbs 1oz born and was 19lbs 5oz last wednesday! He's the biggest out of all my boys. I think it maybe down to 'feeding on demand' too.

Isla was 14lb 5 a month ago. Going to a weigh in on Tuesday. I do think girls are smaller, the red books have different weights for the centiles for boys and girls.

Oh dear my boys were weighed a couple of weeks ago and were 18 and 21Ibs and they are 5 months today

I think it just depends on the baby. Last time zac was weighed he was 17lb 5oz and he was 8 months, but me and OH are bothe quite small. I don't have a girl to compare him to though x

Kieron weighed 17lb 6oz at 11 weeks!! He's prob way into the 18's by now. My neice is 18 months old and weighed 18lb 8oz at last weigh in!! She's a tiny thing tho (just like my sister). It really does depend on the baby xx

I have no idea howmuch Paige weighs, but theres a fairly big difference in the centile charts between the girls and the boys, so what could be considered 25th centil on the boys chart could be 75th on the girls (maybe not that extreme but you get the picture lol). I do know that Paige is just below the 25th centile, but thats about it. Should get her weighed really :/

That makes sense with the charts. Lacey was always between the 25th-50th percentile while charley's always hovered around the 50th so even though there's a big weight difference, their about the same percentile.

health visitor once told me boys are born with more muscle mass so are already more stockier and feel firmer than girls also will weigh heavier x

Seb's always been a stocky chunky monkey! DD weighed 6lb 5oz at birth and Seb was 8lb!!!!! He's much more solid and much much stronger than DD was at the same age x

I think boys are on average are bigger than girls, but my little squirt is much smaller than his sisters and has been since he was born!

My little boy was born 5 weeks early and weighed 5lb5oz then which id say is a good weight to say he was prem, hes 9 months now and weighs 19lb10oz x
