Iv handed in my notice that il finish on the 22nd March making me 37 weeks but will go earlier if I feel I need to.

Iv got my 20 week scan nxt Thursday and im really needing it-as we all are. But got a stupid feeling something isn't right.Anyone else think this?

Yes - I was petrified right up until my scan was over. Don't worry though honestly, the scan is amazing. Never knew they could see so much detail. You'll be fine xxx

I've still not had any meetings about my maternity leave or anything at work. It's getting a bit annoying now as I just want it all set out so I know what I'm doing! I get my MAT1B form in a couple of weeks and should go from there - I hope! Xxx

Aw 3LM hopefully they wont keep you waiting and then you can have a nice long rest once its done.

Don't know what i'll do about maternity leave. I'm an accountant and end of tax years is 5 april! Hopefully baby won't come early otherwise i'll be in trouble! Work in family business so inend on working right up until labour and then will work as soon as bubs is here, just ticking things over like payroll and HMRC returns should be an hour or two a week. All my friends say im mental and I won't have time but i'd rather carry on doing the important things myself rather than come back after a few months off and it be a total mess!

I worked this out yesterday I want to take off until the end of next year and start in the january so im going on maternity leave at 36+2. Was aiming for 38weeks but luvkily xmas next year means I can take just 1 weeks worth of holiday at the end of my maternity and go back first week of jan with 3 weejs holiday to take which im hoping theyll let me do 1 day holiday a week then let me drop to just 4 days once that holiday runs out. We'll see!

I'm self employed too and with B I finished 10 days before she arrived and went back when she was 8 weeks old ;( this time in having a month if to have special times with B and I'm not even thinking about going back until nearer the time! Sod it!!! (But expect I will be back by July!!) x

Oooh, exciting - let us know how you like it I asked to stay in my reg yoga class and she said she can offer alternatives and modifications for me right up until I want ...but I have been terribly lazy and not been back to it yet! Still been doing my Zumba and weights and dog walking though. But really need to get butt in gear and make the most of touching my toes while I still can

As for the leave...I have just broken the news to work (unofficially, HR can get told when my form comes through!) and I have decided to take off 3 weeks before, so off from Mon 31st March and I am due on 20th April. This was just to let the department know for resourcing me to studies. Officially when I tell HR I can also give 28 days notice to change the date, so if I am doing incredibly well I can stay on a week longer or if I am waddling and uncomfy and back agony (slipped a disc at 17 so its a concern when I'll be huge) then I can leave earlier. I am lucky that OH decided I can have an additional month off unpaid after 39 weeks standard leave, and then append all my accrued leave onto that, which should be at least another month and a half. woohoo! And we will discuss return to work part time later as I have to give an official request in 6 weeks before my return to work date - so plenty time to decide

Phew, wat an essay sorry guys!!!!

I made a routine dentist appointment today, which will be on 13th december, the day of my scan, so that's feeling much closer now
