Anyone starting to TTC may/June?

Hi Vixx, I didn't go to SW in the end tonight, only just finished work 10mins ago!! I'm going to go on mondays instead now, with the hope that getting weighed on a Monday will keep me being good at the weekend!

4/5 lbs is amazing, I've been on SW for 4 weeks now and only lost 5, so you're doing really well.

Woohoo it's the weekend tomorrow and that means 1 more week to cross off of weeks to TTC, it will tick down to 15 weeks this weekend :) (and 6 days, but I'm not counting the days :)). It's going really quickly in one sense, as 5 weeks have passed since we decided we would try and it only seems like yesterday, but then at the same time I want to be trying right now and it can't come quick enough!!
J

Aww thank you J, it just doesnt feel like much! I have been taking measurements too, and they dont really seem to be moving either :( not sure why the weight doesnt come off a bit quicker, especially when Im being so good. I cant remember the last time I had chocolate and I havent had a takeaway this year either! haha "must be patient".... "must be patient"....

Oh, thats awful you had to work so late last night! My weigh ins with SW were on a Monday evening, and it definitely makes you behave at the weekends!

I know I was thinking how quickly this year has gone already but then I think back as to how many more weeks I have left and realise its over half a year, boooo - great news for you though, it will come around so quickly!!

Hi ladies!

I am trying to lose weight, and also need to start thinking about stopping smoking before TTC in August. I am terrified as last time I tried to stop smoking I had horrendous anxiety which left me bed ridden hence taking up the smokes again :-( OH says I should stop taking the pill in August, I actually want to stop it now as I know it will take some time before everything regulates itself. I am also paying off debts at the moment and won't be debt free until April, so cannot save really until then! I am with you all in this long journey of patience and unanswered questions :) xxx

Hi Leanne
Nice to have you with us. I am also :ttc: in August. It sounds like you will have a hard time giving up smoking so it may not be a good idea at the same time stopping the pill as that will also mess with your hormones and emotions  and the lot. My advice would be to take it one step at a time, you still have 5 months. We all find the wait :wall2: but we are all here to support and there are a cracking bunch of girls here. I wish you the best. :dust:

Hey Leanne, welcome to our little group :)
I am TTC in Sep this year (hoping it might even be August, but probably not), I need to lose at least 3 stone, and save for maternity leave, so I know how you feel :) I too cant start saving properly until May, as I have 2 holidays to pay off and a loan and a credit card. The loan finishes in April, thank god!

I agree with Kat in terms to giving up smoking... coming off the pill at the same time may be too much, so I would say try giving up smoking first, so that its well and truly out of your system come August, and then maybe come off the pill in June?? Im not sure I can really relate too much as it was a long time ago and I hadnt smoked for long but I did give up smoking a few years back, and I found that exercising worked for me (and snacking on sweets too, if Im being completely honest) but having something to focus on may help take your mind off it and if you go to the gym every evening/morning, it will force you to leave the house, and get outside. The worst part is the thought of going, once youre there its fine, I still feel like this now and Ive been going to the gym since I was 17! haha. I also found that playing around with something like bluetak or a pen can distract your fingers too. You probably know all of this already but I thought I would mention it :)
And most importantly having a little one is a huge incentive :preg::swaddle:

We are all here to support you, even if you need to just rant and rave about crap

Also waiting to try in May/June and it feels a lifetime away. I really don't want a November-January baby as we're over crowded, and I already have a November born child. Ideally would like a March 2015, but will start trying in May.

My sister and my best friend are both pregnant at the moment and another of my friends is due any moment - it's all making me really, very broody, so much so that i'm really close to throwing my 'no November/December/January' baby rule out of the window!

Hi there and welcome to our group :D

We know exactly what its like trying to be patient, and we are all trying to find ways to distract ourselves so that time goes quickly! You need to WTT until the time is right for you and your family, and waiting until Sep is driving me crazy but I know I absolutely have to, so I am finding ways to distract myself.
My way of doing this is by giving up something for a month, something that I normally have/do quite often, i found this made Jan fly by and Feb is almost half way through so I think its working for me. So in Jan I gave up takeaways and alcohol (both of which I love and have on a regular basis) and for Feb I am not allowed to buy myself any shoes, bags or clothes, this is even harder than last months challenge so far! But again this is good for my bank balance :) next month I might give up coffee or chocolate (two of my most favourite things)... I havent decided quite yet.

Not sure if this helps you at all, but its just an idea to distract yourself from you know what haha :preg::preg::preg::preg::preg::preg:

I hope you find something that works for you and you can hold out!

Hi SRob,
I would listen to Vixx the wise one :witch2: (that's meant to be a wise woman, not a witch), she is talking sense.
I am working on my coffee addiction :coffee: I can proudly say that I am down to 1 a day but I must admit I am :nap: all the time... It'll get better.
Do what is best for your family your wait is not long at all. :)

Hahaha Kat, that really made me laugh! :rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks ladies. Maybe a no-chocolate rule is a good one to aim at… or to try and stop spending money on my son, he has enough clothes and toys, but I can't help but spend a bit on him each month!

Happy Friday ladies!!
I'm super excited that another week has passed, time is flying by and my WTT countdown will tick down to 14 weeks tomorrow.
Is time flying for you guys too?
Only 2 weeks until we'll be doing our monthly roll call!
Xx

I've started to take vitamins, ready to prep myself for pregnancy! What else do I need to do to prepare my body for TTC? I don't drink or smoke - so no need to worry about that :)

Happy Valentines Day everyone.

Good Morning, Happy Friday and Happy Valentines Day!!!:love::love:

Times is going fairly quickly I guess but I think I will notice it more when there are fewer weeks remaining, as it stands I still have 28 weeks to go :/ thats not far off a pregnancy for some women! haha - 14 weeks, thats not long at all is it, a little over 3 months!! I would be really excited!!

Hows the diet gone this week? And the gym?? I have had a nightmare week :( Tuesday evening I sprained my ankle pretty badly running, so I have been unable to do any exercise since then and of course, because of that, my eating since has been bloody awful!! I had my first takeaway of the year Tuesday, I was feeling very sorry for myself! Not a great week for me.
We are out tomorrow evening for valentines day, so I am starting afresh on Sunday, I really need some luck with it, as Im rubbish at sticking to eating healthy foods for long!
Did you have a nice time Tuesday evening?

I have our roll call in 2 weeks to give me the incentive I need to have lost more than the 7lbs I had last time!!

Hi Srob, I would say folic acid, and maybe core exercises to work on your core ready to pregnancy? I am doing a lot of core work at the moment, and yoga once a week to work on it, so that I can carry baby as best as I can, aswell as having a fitter body for labour (you never know, it might help?!?!) and then hopefully will allow my body to bounce back quicker after birth, thats the plan anyway!!!

I'm back here from TTC (sob sob)

We're away in June and we have a few bits and pieces to sort out - pay off credit card and replenish our savings.

I am gutted though, I don't want to wait !! I want a 2014 baby...

I am respecting my OH's wishes though, he is usually quite easy going but he has been pretty strict about not wanting to TTC just yet.

On the upside it means I can crack on with losing weight, I am aiming for a stone off, but 2st would take me back to my pre-baby weight.

Also we wont have a Dec / January baby?

Trying hard to find positives, but I feel very sad today :wall2: :wall2:sadly for us getting pregnant is only the start of it as we've had 4 non sticky beans thus far.

X

Aww Carnat, I totally understand youre frustrations, but its really good that you are respecting your OHs wishes, especially if he is usually pretty laid back.
Maybe this short break is what you need to get yourself ready for TTC, and a holiday will do you the world of good.
If you are stressed or putting pressure on yourself to get a BFP then it could lead to your body being under too much pressure, so try and relax during this 3 month break. I know its going to feel like a lifetime, but focus on the holiday, losing weight, saving money etc and then before you know it June will be here!!
Just come on here and rant whenever you need, most of us are on here everyday and, in my opinion, we are a lovely bunch :D - just try and find some other things to focus on for the moment, to try and take your mind off it (easier said than done I know) :hugs:

Well I maintained my weight at SW tonight, which is what I was expecting after the work ball on Tuesday and valentines day. Going to have to be extra good all week now as I have a hen do this weekend, so looks like it will be a maintain again next week :(

Well done J, a maintain is better than a gain, especially given last weeks socialising :)

I have started yet another diet, and so far so good, feeling better in myself already and Im only on day 3, fingers crossed i will have a weight loss of add on saturday!!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Vixx how's the new diet going? I've been good this week, but mainly because I'm off on a hen weekend this weekend :)

Carnat how you doing? Have you come round to the idea of wtt? I'm sure it will be worth the wait!!
