_•~•*XoXoX*•~•_ JULY 2015 Mummies-To-Be _•~•*XoXoX*•~•_

Are early scans a common UK thing?? I saw a gp on Friday as it was the first appointment I'd managed to get - seeing as how everywhere tells you to book an appointment with a gp as soon as you get your BFP - but she was really kind of dismissive, just told me to call a midwife team to make an appointment (in a "why did you bother coming here first?!" kind of way), didn't tell me anything other than to take folic acid, and said a midwife would sort me out for a 12 week scan. I don't know what I'd been expecting really but it was a bit more than that, and I felt weirdly disappointed coming away only 5 minutes after going in! I'd love a scan earlier than 12 weeks because it seems so long away - and like many of you have said, despite the symptoms and lack of af and all the rest, I still just can't quite believe it's real yet!!

(Sorry, bit of a rant there...!)
I had almost the exact same experience, I contacted my doctors surgery, they have a system where they take your details and get a doc to ring you back. When the doc phoned back, he asked what the problem was, I responded 'Oh no problem, just the opposite actually, just need to make an appointment as I have had a positive pregnancy test', he basically said, 'Well why are you asking me, take folic acid and ring a midwife to book an appointment'. I felt so dumb afterwards! 12 weeks does seem sooooo far away ATM, it doesn't help having to keep it secret from some people until then! Xx

So strange how it varies. My doc sorted full bloods, gave me my intro pack and then wrote to midwife to get me booked in. No wonder we are all confused about who does what and who to contact when it varies so much.

I was just catching up on the thread after a couple of days away. The pasta dish looks amazing. Then I read the thread about all your cravings and someone (Laceykeo) mentions cereal - now I want cereal. Really!! Choco pops and lots of them, what is wrong with me?

Good luck to all the checking in this coming week, looking forward to soon be seeing some scan pic on this thread.

I'm really into cereal too! Apparently there's a café in London which only serves cereal- I need to go!

Hope you've all had a nice weekend. I've been having cuddles with our 4 week old niece today and everyone kept asking if I was broody and when we're going to have one!

How are things Laura? Hope you're OK. Hugs to Bridger xxxx

All still ok this end ladies

Oh Lola well into my cereal too just had a huge bowl of Cheerios earlier lol

The little bit of blood turned out to be a little cut on the outside down there it's been so long since we last dtd that I don't think My body was expecting it
To be honest I wasn't either but with so many worries and then so many things saying it will be ok it kind of just happened and I've had some slightly off coloured discharge today but happy to report no bleed (touch wood it stays that way)

How is everyone else this evening?
Can't believe time is going rather quick now 9 weeks on Tuesday
How are you all finding it? Slow fast? X

I'm finding it's going really quick doesn't seem 2 minutes since we found out! And now in my 10th week :0
That's a relief Laura 29
I've been really off sex until last night I got really horny :) so was quite happy to be feeling a bit more normal again!
As for cereal corn flakes seem to be sorting me out first thing on a morning xxx

Quick for me too lol! 9 plus 3 eeek :D nervous mw might go off lmp not early scan though for now till 12 week scan then il be put back to 8+1 lol
Ive been eating loads of sugary foods haha xx

Most places now, you call your GP, tell reception you're pregnant. They sort out a MW appointment, and that's it.
The appointment usually falls between 8-10 weeks, then the MW Will book your scan for as close to 12 weeks as possible.

Doctors now don't often require you to go in, as the pregnancy test a GP used to do before getting a MW is the same as POAS, so... If you call and say you're pregnant, you're pregnant.

I'm sorry I started a cereal craze... Damn Golden Nuggets for me... Bowls an bowls of 'em.
Although I could murder a bowlful of cornflakes right enough.

I know a few people are booking in today... Best of luck :yay:
Be sure to come tell us all what it was like.

I had the bloaty yesterday for about an hour. That was some fun discomfort /sarcasm.
Still no real "pregnancy symptoms" though.
Honestly, I know some of you ladies are desperate for symptoms to "prove" you are pregnant, but, (like I said already): I'm a huge pain-wuss.
I'm glad I have no symptoms (thus far, knock on wood), but then, when I had my lil boy I had no symptoms either, so, I guess I just don't need that "confirmation" as such...

I'll be moaning by the end of today, right enough though. 7-6, I'm working.
That's a horrific shift.
Urgh.

Oh well. Once it's over, it's over.

Thought for the day: MUST EAT ALL THE FOOD

I must be the only one who has gone off cereal. My Crunchy Nut Cornflakes have gone untouched for the last 3 weeks.
I'm all about hangover food, as someone else up there said.
I'm doing my very, very best to have cucumber to stop the sickly feeling when it pops up. If I ate what I really wanted I'd have gone up a dress size by now.

9 weeks tomorrow and booking appointment on Wed, yay!x

Ahhhhhh theres an august mummies thread - were not the newbees anymore! :) xxx

I've gone off cereal too Crawkay, I had to force myself to eat it yesterday as there was nothing else suitable to eat for breakfast. I think it might be the milk though as I've also gone completely off yoghurts!

I've definitely gained some weight. I just can't stop eating! Yesterday I bought some new clothes, including some really comfy maternity clothes. I would wear them even if I wasn't pregnant, the tops from New Look are great. I bought some maternity jeans from H&M but they don't have that big belly flap thing, they just have stretchy pockets and they're soo comfortable. Great after I've had my Christmas dinner!

8 weeks today
Hope you're all well. I've had nausea this morning and feeling my usual tired self but so happy to have reached my 8 week milestone :)

xx

OH is taking regular photos of me to see how I change. Last night he was excitedly showing me my bump had appeared. I had to explain that it was bloating. Poor lad was rather deflated. Wish I was.

Morning Ladies,

Hope you are all doing well! I've been suffering with a stupidly heavy cold but then had a sinus infection so I'm now on a course of penicillin until Wednesday! I feel a lot better than I did so thankfully they seem to be working, I just want to feel normal again! With Pregnancy symptoms on top of feeling sh*te I've been knocked sideways these lase 2 weeks!

Finally made it to December which seems to have taken forever! Got my booking in appointment on Thursday and early scan on Sunday (I'm dreading them telling me bad news, but trying to stay positive) then next week OH & I are off to Prague for 3 days which I can't wait for! I actually only work this week as a full week in December the rest are short weeks up until January woohhoo!!

xx

I have a horrendously obvious bump now, morning noon and night. I eke trying to convince myself it's just bloat but... I dunno... With it being my second I guess it partly be down to the uterus stretching out but...

It's SO freakin obvious.

I'd put pics up but I only have a naked belly from yesterday.

Boosh, hope you continue to feel better and feel well again soon.

I have a constant bloat-bump too, I'm quite fond of it :) xx
