❤️ December testing thread ❤️

Have you already tried just with drugs and opks? Which clinic do you go to?

I went to Cambridge IVF and they are a bit cheaper. £135 for drugs and £325 monitored cycle. I have appointment next week to discuss my next steps.
Easy at home opks have arrived and already showing dark line (not positive yet cd10). Not sure if thats because these tests are better or LH surge is on its way. X
I've tried clomid and progesterone but I think I need the trigger shot because when I had a scan on one of those months on day 12 my eggs were already 20+ mm, with one at 24mm. So I respond really well to the drugs but as a result if I don't have the trigger shot my eggs become over mature! So I don't bother with opks now because I have the trigger shot on day 8 which is before I'd ovulate naturally!
We see a world renowned specialist based in Cardiff who I really like and trust and gave us our little boy. He's put us on the right path and I think we might as well just carry on that path with the drugs and not the scans, rather than just save a little to see someone else and more than likely have to jump through a load more hoops anyway xx

Clomid, Letrozole, Trigger Shot and Progesterone didn’t work for me and after a few cycles, Letrozole gave me a couple of anovulatory (didn’t ovulate) cycles, even then made my ovulation wonky!

I recommend doing a medicated cycle every 2-3 cycles, just so that you don’t get used to it and have similar issues with anovulatory cycles.

I am only cd11 and looks like almost positive opk? I also did one yesterday and it was low according to premom. Today premom says its high.
It is very interesting as previous months I only started sex on about day 10/11. :)

What do you think girls? I will attach photo. Do I test again this evening?

@Unicorn
Have many cycles have you already tried with drugs and scans?

And if you only take drugs, do they offer trigger shot to ovulate? X

@RainbowMama I think it is good idea to try every 2-3 cycles rather than every cycle.

I started taking coq10 in bio quinone form. I will let you all know if it has helped. :)

@Kiwi_53 have you tested today?

I tested again lastnight and this morning and both still very dark/ nearly positive, that’s now been since CD12 I am now CD18, I just wonder if I have high levels of Lh the whole time, is that possible. I have never had this and with all previous pregnancy or all ovulation sticks.

your test looks very close to positive, that’s how my one’s seem to be. Fingers crossed for us all :) x

Thank you but if anything I respond too well to follicle stimulating drugs, I've very rarely had an anovulatory cycle in the many years we've been ttc xx

We did 2 cycles of clomid but that was without the trigger shot which I think we need. And this is our second cycle using the letrozole, trigger shot and progesterone. Without the full package we will be totally on our own so purchasing and taking the drugs ourselves, which given the stability of my response and cycles I think we know what we're doing :) And I think the culmative nature of the follicle stimulating drugs works for us, we conceived our son on our fourth drug supported cycle so I think we'll give this another 2 months :pray: xx

I think it is good to try with trigger shot as then you know exactly when to have sex. Does your doctor allow you to choose what method to try each month?
My amh results are back. Its on the low side but luckily not critically low.
I had positive opk yesterday afternoon and today it is still positive. I will do another one this evening. I think previously my surges were a lot shorter.

No, we were doing clomid ourselves but he prefers letrozole so switched us to that! What was your result? Yeah, my surges used to be a lot shorter than they are now as well xx

I fell pregnant after over 24 hours of an LH surge. Fingers crossed for you.

@Unicorn, I’ve read a lot of doctors do prefer Letrozole over Clomid. I always found that strange because Clomid got me pregnant twice but Letrozole failed to and even then started to make my cycles weird. Best of luck though sweetie xx

@Unicorn did you doctor prescribe clomid first and then switched to letrozole? My amh is low 6.5. Did you have amh tested too?

@RainbowMama
Did you start counting 24 hours from the first positive opk? My first positive was on 5th and lasted for 2 days. Yesterday evening it was already negative.

Well ladies I’m a day late but I’m going to wait till Saturday to test as last month I got a bfp but then ended in chemical pregnancy but I feel pregnant this time so I e got everything crossed for Saturday

I had a similar experience letrozole vs clomid, and have found it strange too.

Apparently clomid has the disadvantage of reducing your uterus lining but it never did for me and I conceived our son on clomid too!
How are you doing lovely? When's your next scan? Xxx

When we were trying 7 years ago he prescribed clomid because that was the only option so we self medicated with that initially this time but then we went back to our consultant he switched us to letrozole so we're going to continue to self medicate with that because at least we know how I respond to that so know when to do the trigger shot etc without having the scans!
Again 6.5 amh isn't too low! My result was 37.6, which was really confusing as the table they provided me with the results reported that as an excessive response but after researching I discovered that the table is in Ng but my result was in pmol, so converted that makes it 5.2, which my consultant says is still fine and I've never had any problem with egg production! Xx

How exciting, you should have an amazing line by Saturday, good luck xx

From the first test - which was positive. I wasn’t particularly trying, knew I usually peak on CD14 so did a test at 2pm to confirm. My surge was CD14 2pm - CD15 6pm, lasting 28 hours in total. It may have lasted longer - but 6pm was the last test I took.

Good luck @angel babe!
