(¯`·._.·(¯`·._.· October 2018 Mummies ·._.·´¯)·._.·´¯)

My community midwife did listen to the heart at 16 weeks but not for very long. I also asked her if she could email the home birth team so I could talk to them and she called back later to tell me to go to this public group. I was initially really upset because I wanted to talk through my personal issues and not go to an information evening. I was sad so posted on a local group that I felt a bit shut out and amazingly a home birth midwife in my area saw it, looked me up and called me personally! I was flabbergasted. She’s set up a meeting for me now.

So pleased for you Hun. I have my 16 week appointment on Thursday so I hope I get the information I need. The GP that confirmed my pregnant at 5 weeks was so abrupt so really hope this next appointment is more positive!

Ladies, I shop with Ocado and just saw they have a baby sale on - I know we got vouchers with our baby packs so you may want to take a look. Asda still have their baby event on too I believe x

ah so cute!!! yours is definitley alllll baby!

Mine is baby and FOOD! haha

Ditto! I’m grazing. Had two days of no morning sickness apart from the little bit in the evening but today I feel bloody awful! Usually food resolves it but not today - not that I won’t eat though, love my food

I don’t look much bigger than at 12 weeks.

That’s still an impressive bump Cornish!! X

Ha ha thanks kj1 although with the comments I’ve had I’d rather have your bump. In the past 24 hours I’ve had “alright chubster”, “looks like you’ve eaten a baby” and “morning fatty”. All comments were older men. One was the finance manager at work, one my father in law and one the engineer at work. Honestly my husband could have throttled his dad for it.

How rude! There is no way anyone would say anything like that if they didn't know you were pregnant, and even if it's a joke, it can really wear you down

That's one thing I'm dreading when I tell more widely at work is how people feel they have a right to comment unprompted about your body shape when they know you're pregnant. I've only experienced similar when I was getting married, and I was asked sooo many times if I planned losing weight for the big day, and even though the rational part of me knew it was ridiculous (I was a size 8 at the time) it really started to chip away at my confidence.

I've been the same today. Spent the weekend feeling fantastic, but grim today. Nothing seems to settle my stomach. Hope you're better soon

One good thing today - got my screening letter back, and am under 1 in 6500 for Down's and 1 in 50,000 for the other trisomies.

Have also told family and close friends over the weekend, so that's been a lovely few calls and skype catchups

That's great bunny! I was the same for the other trisomes and 1:3400 for downs syndrome which for my age (33) isn't bad at all! Plus my nt measurement was just 1mm

Looking forward to the gender scan now eek

Aw cornishgirl how rude! Your bump is lovely

Kj1 I am so gassy atm too! Oh is not impressed

The other day I farted so loud he answered from upstairs saying 'what?' Thinking I had shouted him

You ladies are so lucky to actually have a bump :D those are some truly beautiful bumps. I look like I've gained some weight... Waiting for my bump to pop out.

Will start going to specialist midwife same day as anatomy scan because I am now considered at-risk for mental health issues triggered by pregnancy. Anyone have any experience with this? I am not ill now, but I have a pretty turbulent mental health history. I spent 3 years in specialized care from the age of 14-16, I have been off medication and high-functioning since 18. I work 2 jobs and am a full-time student so I feel I have been coping well. I guess they want to prevent a relapse?

In more exciting news, I've felt baby move 2-3 days in a row now  Anyone else?

I've felt lots of pokes and flutters. Last night I thought I'd try to do what the midwife did; she gently felt for where baby was before listening for the heartbeat. So while lying down, using the flat of my hand, I just gently had a feel and I'm pretty sure I could feel where baby was. Afterwards I started to feel the little pokes again so I think they weren't too impressed with being poked haha

That's great you are getting support though, you sound like you have done amazingly well so far hun! pregnancy can do strange things to the best of us

how lovely to feel movment! I am nearly 14 weeks and think i can feel some kid of popping/bubbles but really not sure its probably wind !

Hahahaha I forgot I read this out last night to my husband. He absolutely loves all fart jokes and he pretty much broke down with laughter!:lol::lol:

Hahaha I found it pretty funny myself tbh!!!

Randomly, Chinese takeaway really seems to be helping with my bloating. I never normally have it but the two times I've had it in the last three weeks have been followed by my best days in terms of feeling well!

Omg I just burst out laughing in the office, people must think I'm going mad!

MrsBunny - YAY! Great results :)

Surveyor - Sounds like you're doing absolutely great but they probably just want to ensure you continue feeling that way! It's amazing the added support and attention you get when pregnant , take full advantage of it! I haven't felt anything at all yet but I'm A) only 14 + 1 and B) have an anterior placenta so I don't think I'll be feeling anything for another 6 weeks or so sadly :(

CornishGirl - Men...sometimes those closest to us think they can make inappropriate comments in the hope we will find them funny. Totally unnecessary! Give it right back to them I say!
