I know what you are saying Tash - but as replies have suggested all mums regardless of how they have fed their babies have been subject to some criticism. And I thought that this is what your topic was about - that people should mind their own business about how you feed your baby.

This is such an emotive topic and always causes strong reactions as seen by number of replies.

To be honest I never realised it would it was just such an innocent post.

As for my gold class sig, I never actualy realised it made people feel like that, to me it means I feel like I am doing it gold class for my daughter and to the best I can for her im reaching my goal and climbing mountins, its not saying all other are rubbish and are lower class, its merely something for me.

Going back to your original post tasha.. I have just come back from my mums house feeling utterly delfated...

logan has been a very demanding baby and has fed almost every hour since birth! I have had very sore nipples and thrush etc but I have persevered as it is what I wanted to do, but I too am sick of the comments - your milk isn't thick enough for him , its not right for him, or there is no goodness in your milk if he is feeding that frequently. give him a bottle of water and he will soon stop crying.....

and the normal things as everyone else has said like - god is he hungry again!

I have now breastfed for 3 months ( my ticker is wrong!)and in that time I have felt that it was the wrong choice ( by my family) but the right choice by the health visitors. I am sick of getting conflicting messages all the time and I too wish that people would mind there own buisness, - my baby my boobs my buisness...

I think Budge once commented in a post and said something like what else do you have to do except look after your baby... ( sorry budge if I have misquoted you! :D ) Whilst I am on maternity leave and not working I can spend the time feeding my little one like this and I am going to continue but when I go back to work then I will give formula....

Both have their place and it is personal choice as to which one you go for - for me no one is better than the other.. when I have a second child I may decide to breastfeed again but then again I may choose formula.. who knows it depends on what is happeneing at the time and how I feel.

I was interested to read alfiesmum's posts on being made to feel bad for feeding formula - your dammed if you do and your dammed if you don't so you may as well do what you want and ignore anyone who comments!

 I know how you feel, ( my tickers wrong too! shes 3 months!) I think your doing a great job.

lol the other day someone said, you should give her water shes going to dyhdrate! er no lol she gets it form the fore milk, this is why it separates

i get that a lot too tasha! its just inorance - just turn a blind eye.

My hubby once said it to me recently when she was having her lunch,
"she wants a drink with her lunch she'll get thirsty"

my reply "thats why she has a breastfeed after" but thats men for you lol

Budge I just roll my eyes at them now

Suz its weird isnt it about the tickers? its really annoying actualt but I cant find any other sites that have breastfeeding tickers.

Also when she is old enough to try abit of baby juice, will that interfere with the breatsfeeding at all? I would really like her to try some new tastes.

A little bit of juice shouldn't interfere with the breastfeeding to much, and as long a your little one's gaining weight well I don't see it being a problem.

I gave lily abit of juice occasionally (normally at mums n tots) but have stopped it for now as she wasn't gaining enough weight ( shes on the bottom centile), she's a lazy feeder and would only take enough milk as a drink (about estimated 3oz at each feed), so have been feeding her whenever and expressing to increase my supplie (as it'd dropped to her needs).

Also when giving juice I found lily didn't like beakers, she prefered cups or straws, I bought lily a heinz step by step beaker which has a beaker lid, but also a liped lid with holes in (which is what i use)so it's like drinking from a cup, or there are some new nuby (i think thats the brand) beakers which have straws instead of mouth pieces (which i think i'm also gonna try.

hope that helps
