Hi ladies :)

Well I was going to work up until 38 weeks!! But now I've changed my mind and I'm going to work until 34 weeks :)

What's everyone else doing? X

ill be 32 weeks but i think ill struggle even at that cos im on my feet all day and my back is so painful atm.

Dont think id want to go any sooner though cos i dont want to sit at home bored getting fat for too long lol!! x

i'll be 34 weeks, althogh ive booked every monday and tuesday off in may so that i have shorter weeks thank god! 34 weeks seems ages awayyyy!

34 weeks for me aswell guna be hard though as I have spd :/ DOH!!!

I'm leaving on June 10th which makes me all the 3s...33+3. We're experiencing the biggest heatwave recorded and it's really hard going! I can handle the heat when it's dry as I'm a shade seeker anyway and most places, including work, have aircon. However, we've had humidity which is a killer as the aircon can't cope!
I had a Year11 boy tell me that I had sweat on my face last week! Nice! Ha ha!

Hopefully it will cool down soon enough and at least and not heavily pregnant now! It will be winter once the bub comes along in July so I can enjoy baths and snuggling up with a fleecy blanket again! :)

Were any of you girls 'advised' by your boss to leave at a certain time? I was advised to leave 6 weeks before due date

xxx

I was planning on working till 34 weeks but ended up being signed off sick from 28 weeks due to bleeding from my low placenta. I am almost 33 weeks now and am soooooo glad I am not still working - am not sleeping at all well and now seem to be struggling with SPD pain. I just count my blessings that I am not working full time as I don't know how I would cope on so little sleep! xx

Ah so the early 30s seem to be when people plan to take time off. I've realised I just don't think I'll physically cope!! So gotta find extra 1 months top up money for when my wages fall to the statutory 125 per week!! But I'm sure I'll be sooo grateful to leave at 34!! X

I'm probably a bit mad but I'm planning on working until 38+3. I can't bear the thought of sitting at home for weeks waiting for baby to arrive. I'm a really organised person so nursery all pretty much done etc. Plus I'm self employed and will only get mat allowance when I stop which is a massive pay reduction so I would rather have time off when baby is here. I've said I will only do local work and straightforward cases from 37 weeks as I don't want to go into labour a few days into a crown court trial! Plus if it all gets too much I will stop earlier but feel fine at the moment x

at the moment planning on 38 weeks, but have a few holidays still to take and will probably also take every monday/friday off in may and june.

can't afford not to work that late!!

That's exactly how I feel! Couldnt imagine working now!

i work as a childminder so im giving up the children in stages one leaves the end of this month then i finish with 2 end of april them the 2 school kids im going to finish with end of may and il only have a week to go :):) (If i manage this is the plan anyway lol ) x

I'm due to finish at 33 weeks, but am currently signed off. If I have to go back to work I'll only have 4 weeks to work before I finish. Am secretly hoping they'll sign me off for another 4 weeks so I don't have to go back, but am not that lucky!

My maternity starts 23rd may I will be 38 weeks however I have 3 weeks holiday booked leading up to that so will actually finish 3rd May at 35 weeks.

I still have 8 holidays to take so I am going to put it to my boss on Monday that I work shorter hours until I finish to use them up as I am starting to feel knackered now come 2:30 and finding it hard to work full time, stay on top of all my house work + 2 dogs and an 11 year old!

I'll be working right up till the end, health permitting! I don't get any maternity leave (not law over here) so all the money I save up I don't want to have to use until my baby is here (hopefully). With my last pregnancy, I worked the Friday morning, had my hair cut, went home and cleaned the flat, painted the kitchen and went into labour at 8pm that night!

I'm working up until 38 weeks too...need to work as long as possible so I can have as much time as possible with baby.

xx

I'm planning on working til i'm 37-38 weeks. I commute to London so i'm feeling very tired already! especially the journey home. my back seems to lock at the bottom and get a lot of discomfort in my tummy. i want to save as much as possible so i can be with the baby for longer.x

Roo I reckon they'd have no problem signing you off if you wanted!! My placenta has moved back up and I've had no bleeding for the last month but they are so cautious with late pregnancy my GP 100% agreed I would be better off not going back to work at all  xxx

I'm seeing my consultant next Wednesday so will chat with him then although I will still have 2 weeks signed off to go when I see him next week. I had to go into work for a couple of hours earlier in the week as no-one knows how to do my job so I had to quickly train someone. Not my problem I know but I'm happier now knowing its being looked after properly. The thought of just having to spend 2 hours there made me feel sick, so am dreading the thought of having to go back for 4 weeks before I finish. Really hope they can sign me off for longer.

my maternity leave starts on april 10th ,it's really early, I'll only be 28 weeks but I have no choice,it's the company rule. Then 6 weeks later at 34 weeks I'll be on statuary pay ,125 quid per month...absolutely s***ing myself about not being able to cope with so little money but I saved for years so I can stay a few months at home after the baby is born..

That surely cannot be company policy, unless you do a job that deals with hazardous chemicals/ lots of moving and even then you are entitled to ask for your job to be made safe. I would check that out and make sure they aren't pushing you out.
also, it's about £120 per week, not month for SMP!

I have just calcualted i have 30 working days left! woo! I officially go on leave on the 23rd May, but with holidays my last day is the 11th, when i will be 34 weeks and then I am taking holiday/ bank holidays before then.

that has just made my friday!
