maternity leave, when to start it????

I finish on the 1st May taking some anual leave and then maternity starts on the 6th after bank holiday. Im counting down the days especially as loads of people are off at the moment and work is a little stressful!

I don't get maternity leave either - missed out by 2 weeks so I am leaving at technically 38 weeks (2 weeks easter hols that I get paid for but I will be 36 weeks on my last teach day)

I have to go back next Jan to finish my probation year (10 weeks) and I am STILL waiting for the HR dept to return my MAt 1B form so I can sort out maternity allowance

I will get more than a year off! I doubt they are going to extend my contract once they find out I'm having a baby in August! I'm actually terrified about this. I doubt I will find a temp job in April when I am five months pregnant...
