Violet Crossley 11/11/2013 - Last member of our brood

The bit of stitch that was sticking out of my scar came out today. :) At last! It's been really bugging me! Finally got round to ordering new furniture and suite for bathroom at home. Looking forward to having a working shower in our bathroom again since it leaked through the ceiling in the hall. Took so long to sort out due up bank blocking my card due to a stupid error. Why is it such hard work to buy anything these days??? :( xxx

2:20 and Violet's finally in her cot and asleep! Don't want to get too excited after last night's debacle. Fingers crossed!!

Somehow yesterday I managed to sleep until about 9am! Only remember oh saying goodbye before he went to work. Don't know what happened to yesterday. It was over in a flash. Needed to go into Leeds to buy new school shoes for my two lads today. The eldest was already in town so the idea was to meet up with him and him choose some shoes then. My youngest and I were a bit late getting into town so I rang the eldest when we got into town to find that he was on his way back home! Ffs! No smegging school shoes for you then mate! As such the sum total of my exercise has been tramping round Leeds. Well I guess that's better than nothing.

Last night I had a surprise early night as I managed to get Violet into bed for 1am and she was asleep from about 12:20am. Had a bit of Facebook catching up to do. Discovered that it was 3 years ago since an old friend of mine had died in tragic circumstances and had a bit of a sad moment. :'( It's easy to take my very fortunate life for granted sometimes. After I'd sent message to her brother I got Vi into her cot and as normal on a work day for OH, tip-toed round upstairs. In bed for about 1:30am. That's the best time in a few weeks. I heard a couple of tiny peeps but she didn't wake up fortunately and I wasn't going to risk opening her door to check. Good old baby monitors. Sometimes they are a blessing!

Early morning school rigmarole started again this morning and once again Morgan can't find his tie! How come kids always expect mums to know where all their stuff is!! Part of the deal I guess. Don't expect Vi will be any better! I live in hope. I'm sure the fact that they were both ready on time to walk out of the door will be short-lived. Probably just atypical enthusiasm to see their mates again after a two week break + the inevitable training day after an already long school holiday. Quick breakfast and back to bed for a little while in lovely silence. Fingers crossed for a crafty little snooze before Vi wakes up again. ;) xxx

Going to miss OH tomorrow. He's been working from home on Mondays and Fridays for ages but is only going to be doing Fridays for the moment. It's been a bit of a waste of a day today. Still feeling very tired especially around tea time. Feeling a but lazy as OH made the tea. However I did take Vi up to the supermarket in her baby carrier. It turned out to be further distance-wise than I thought especially seeing as I bought more than I should have and it weighed a ton!! Still, all useful exercise to help me shift this weight. Off to put Vi down and hoping she stays asleep this time! xxx

Busy day today. Walked up to the doctors to go to the baby clinic to get Vi weighed. She's 11lb 7oz today - that's 14oz in 2 weeks. Definitely not so worried about the drop in the number of feeds she's having now. Also decided to go to the Breastfeeding Cafe where I went last week but to carry on with my increased exercise regime. It was an almost 9km round trip so pleased with that. Met some more nice ladies there and am going to go for a stroll round the park with someone I was chatting to. That's something nice to do on Thursday then before Vi goes for her jabs.
Vi has gone to sleep in her sleeping bag on my lap. Wonder if it's worthwhile trying to put her in her cot now....

Sounds like Vi is doing great with her weight gain. Well done! And wowsers-9km round trip is pretty impressive, go you! Good luck to Vi for her jabs, Im sure she'll be as good as gold xxx

Thanks Rednursie! Violet was asleep when she went into the nurse. She didn't even feel the first jab (or at least didn't show that she had). There was a shirt little cry after the second one but then she was fine. She's been good tonight but only just gone to sleep. Hope she has a good night tonight! How are you doing? Must be really close now for you? xxx

Aw that's great. I'm good thanks. Only 2 more days left at work now, Saturday & Sunday. Andorra importantly only 5 weeks until due date! Looking forward to organising my last few bits, very exited now! xxx

How exciting! Bet you can't wait. I'll have to check on here more often! xxx

Violet at 9 weeks and 3 days. Just having a snooze after her first immunisations.

Hi Sophie! Congratulations on the safe arrival of your Amelia! How is being a mum treating you? :) Man, this being mum again is hectic. Not been on here for a while as you can see! I've been on the Facebook group a bit. Violet is 13 weeks old and now weighs 12lb 1oz. Not a huge baby but she seems to be doing ok. I've been going to a breastfeeding group where it has been nice to meet some other new mums. I finally met Pippa, (one of my my bump buddies) last week as I travelled down to Sheffield to meet up with her and Greyson. That was lovely. Violet is going for her 2nd set of jabs today so fingers crossed it will be as uneventfully as the last time. Here's one of Vi's latest pictures taken last Sunday at 12 + 6.

Exhausting but magical :) I love her to pieces!! Glad you're doing okay, violet looks very cheeky!! Xx

Glad to hear you're doing well and enjoying it Sophie. Violet is such a happy little girl. She's got everyone doting on her especially big brothers! Her growth has slowed down in the last few weeks but I'm hoping that's just because she's sleeping through the night now. I'm getting anywhere between 8-11 hours on average. Before you know where you are you will hopefully be too. xxx

Beautiful family dotty! That's fab Violet is sleeping so well :) xxx

Thanks Rednursie. Wondered how you were getting on but guess you are sick of people asking and saying "it won't be long now!". Really hope you don't have too much longer to wait. Going overdue sounds like it makes every day last a life age. I've been stalking Tri 3 & your journal. xxx

Vi has started to try and get onto her side in the last couple of days. She's arching her back and turning her head but not getting anywhere at the moment which she's finding quite frustrating. She's also started to try to play with stuff. My mil brought a pile of toys over at the weekend (she is a childminder and hopefully retiring soon!) and Vi's been turning the wheels on a little snail rattle. She was also trying to touch some horses on the print on Grandma's top. Sounds like it's going to get more exciting soon. xxx

Wow Dotty that sure does sound like it's going to get exiting soon! That must be such a lovely stage. I can't wait for that myself xxx
